It is a new year again, and it has probably been nearly a year since I last truly posted on Tumblr. I do not use this often as I never really had a point to, and I do not want to promise that I will do anything daily on here or anything like that again this year.
So instead my New Year Resolutions are coming in the form of goals. Goals that I want to achieve this year to better myself and my life.
Leave soft drinks in 2014: Last night I had 4 Ale-8-One. They are a stronger version of ginger ale. Quite tasty honestly, but they are planned as my last ones. I may fail at this here and there, but I will spend this year reducing any soft drink consumption down to "0" as much as I can.
Get my butt out of the chair: They say that sitting can cut off years of your life. All I know is that right now it has cut off my energy, made me lazy, and I get tired from the simplest of things. So I want to get up, walk, run, work out, simply move much more this year.
Cook my food: I am going to end up going to restaurants, I am going to end up going for fast food at times. What I do not need to do is go out to eat solo. I have lost money and taken in way too many extra calories by going out to eat all the time by myself. So it is time to cut this out. I want to cook my food more. I have started doing this, but I want to kick it up a notch.
Document my change: More specifically I want to take before and after pictures of me. I could tell you daily, but to be realistic I want to at least get it once a week. I am wanting to cut soft drinks, get out of the chair more, and cook more food, but fro all of that I need to remind myself why. So I want to document and hopefully see the change in myself over the course of the next year. At some point today I will post the first photo.
Get a job in Community Management: More specifically I want it to be in the video game industry, but overall, I want to get into the Community Management career life. I tried being a teacher and yes I miss being a teacher. I did it for three years. Now I am an IT person and while the job is alright...it is just a job to me. It is not a career that I want to pursue and enjoy doing. So I have one more goal this year that is all in an effort to increase my Community Management career.
Community based content: I could try and do reviews, I could do let's plays, and heck I could try and be awesome and give you trick shots and all the sorts, but it is not what I truly want to do. So instead, and it may not be the most interesting to start with...I want to focus on creating videos with a community focus. I want to interview community members of games, provide the community with updates and discussions, interact with them on a daily basis, and explore new ways to get communities involved with the game they love and enjoy playing.
This is a list of 6 goals, of 6 promises to myself. Some people complain about making New Year Resolutions, but it does not matter. It works for some people, and a New Year always feels refreshing, rejuvenating, and exciting. So I am going to grab the bull by the horns and steer my life.
I am going to take control and do what I did not do this past year, make something of my self.
