Your life is what you allow it to be.
I’m at a pivotal point of my own life right now. I either stay for my last year in college, rack up extra debt on top of my current loans, and get my degree in literature…
Or I can choose to drop out. Once done, I’ll find a basic job and study what I actually want to learn on the side. Plus, I originally wanted to be an author and that doesn’t necessarily require a degree. Regardless, I’ll use that year where I was supposed to be in college to explore myself and what I really want out of life.
Being a college dropout makes me sound like a lazy student who wasn’t smart enough. Plus, I’ll be throwing away all of that money and time for nothing, but doesn’t that indicate that any college education itself is worthless unless there’s a degree to show for it? Three years of college has to mean for something, right? I could suffer another year trying to study for subjects I don’t really care about and earn that degree, but honestly I’m not happy. I could graduate being educated, but I don’t feel smart.
Paying so much money and yet I feel like I just know fun facts about random topics after three years. I ask myself if that’s honestly what I wanted out of college. There has to be more to a happy life than following the standard path that society has laid out. I’m pretty set on killing my college career this summer. I doubt I’ll end up on the streets. I believe in myself knowing that college isn’t for me.
you know I’ll be here for you no matter what, just hit me up whenever johnny! I got your back!
