If voting could change anything it would be illegal. People in power would never give the powerless the ability to remove them from authority. The only thing that has ever led to a transfer of power has been war and revolution. Democracy is nothing more than the power structure giving its victims the opportunity to choose the personality that they are most willing to have administer their oppression. It’s like slaves picking a new master; you cannot vote to end the slavery itself but you are allowed to choose the hands that shall whip you.

Can’t stop watching this perfect scene.
People try to give me coffee for breakfast. Well, I’d rather have a Dr. Pepper. I started drinking them about 40 years ago. Three a day. Every doctor that sees me says they’ll kill you, but they die and I don’t. So there must be a mistake somewhere.

Sean London and I started our way down the “28 Droolworthy Junk Food Treats to Eat in LA" list, beginning with #23 the Charlie Brown Custard Shake. I did some #drooling, but it wasn’t for milkshakes.
Join us next time, won’t you?
I have a notebook I keep all my sketch ideas in. This was one of them:
Me and Dave Brown performed our two-man show "Dave vs. Sean" at Happy Hour Recess. Pretty happy with this set... we didn't plan on a form at all. We told ourselves we'd just go up and see what happens and we ended up organically finding ourselves doing the Pretty Little Flower form, which was fun.
Suggestion was pineapple, so I played a woman at a bar sipping a pina colada and Dave painted us as being on a cruise, so I think we honored the suggestion (I'm glad that we both addressed what the suggestion immediately evokes... fruity drinks, bars, vacation), then found everything else.
What's really interesting to me is Dave and I both saw two-person shows the night before. Dave was inspired by Dierkes and Fernie, who have a very conversational style, which then leads to crazy stuff they tag out to, and you can see Dave playing more conversational than usual. I, on the other hand, just saw Parham & Mantzoukas, and I was inspired by the way they would play insane characters, who were slowly and calmy drawn, and I attempted to bring that energy.
Anyway, this was fun. Thanks to Brandon and Jera at Happy Hour Recess for filming and uploading this.
Soulmates is 4-0 at the iO West Cagematch!
The competition aspect of cagematch is fun/fine, but more than anything, finally getting to perform weekly with Soulmates is what makes our cagematch run really satisfying.
If you've never seen me perform or if you haven't seen me in awhile, check out the show. We're starting to hit our stride... Here's hoping we stick around for awhile.
(By the way. We have a series of hilariously blurry backstage, green room post-win photos. I have no idea why Josh can't take a photograph, but it amuses me, hahaha)
One of my greatest fears in life is singing in front of people, which is exactly why I want to do it later this year. I’m putting together a small set list of my favorite covers on ukulele and songs I’ve written. This cover of “Paper Bag” (by Fiona Apple) was recorded in two takes, so it’s a rough cut but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
I love this!
Princess Cake SPARKLES at Prism Box. The best 8 minute show I’ve done.
