Lock Safe Search in Windows
To lock Safe Search to the strict setting in Bing, Google and Duckduckgo, do the following:
In the search box at the bottom of the screen, search for Notepad. Right-click on the icon and select ‘Run as administrator’. Enter the administrator password. In Notepad, open the file: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. (Note; this is not a .txt file).
Add the following lines to the text of the file.
216.239.38.120 www.google.com #forcesafesearch.
216.239.38.120 www.google.co.uk #forcesafesearch.
204.79.197.220 www.bing.com
204.79.197.220 bing.com
204.79.197.220 www2.bing.com
204.79.197.220 www3.bing.com
192.0.2.1 duckduckgo.com
192.0.2.1 www.duckduckgo.com
To prevent direct access to porn sites, add the following lines to the text of the hosts file.
0.0.0.0 pornhub.com
0.0.0.0 www.pornhub.com
0.0.0.0 xhamster.com
0.0.0.0 www.xhamster.com
0.0.0.0 youporn.com
0.0.0.0 www.youporn.com
0.0.0.0 bellessa.com
0.0.0.0 www.bellesa.com
0.0.0.0 xvideos.com
0.0.0.0 www.xvideos.com
0.0.0.0 xnxx.com
0.0.0.0 www.xnxx.com
Alternative search engines can be blocked in the same way, e.g. 0.0.0.0 ask.com
Save the hosts file and reboot the computer.
Also, delete your browser history as the entries can be used as direct links to those websites.
