One Month
One month before graduation. I should feel confident. I should feel inspired and empowered. One month before graduation and I feel lost and confused.

Second Adolescence
I’ve spent my entire life pretending to be someone else. Like so many others I’ve become infatuated with media figures. The hobbies I possess aren’t my passions they are the passions of others that I had tried to emulate. These media figures all portray characteristics I admire, characteristics I felt I lacked. Throughout my childhood I dressed and behaved like the characters I watched in movies. There were times that I altered who I was on a weekly basis because I had become infatuated with one of the characters. As I grew older I had zero sense of who I was as a person. Now in my early 20’s I’ve come to the realization that I have no idea who I am. I used to think that my adolescent years would be a time of self-discovery and that by the time I turn 22 I would know who I was. Katie Dalebout (Wellness Wonderland) mentioned in her recent podcast that your 20’s being your second adolescence. This statement rings so true, I am 22 and feel just as lost as I did when I was 12. I’ve been obsessed with being anyone else but myself. What is so awful about being me?
