THINGS IM SAD I'M MISSING
Ok so I'm going to LA this week and every time I leave New York (yes, even for a week) I have super terrible anxiety about it even though I'm stoked about getting away. Regardless, here are the things I'm having anxiety about missing:
MERMAID PARADE at Coney Island (Saturday 18th)!
For fans of all things mermaids and colorful.

PUNK ISLAND at Governors Island (Sunday 19th)!
Part of the lovely Make Music New York festival, Punk Island takes place every year on Gov Island- which basically I think is where everyone should be spending all of their weekends anyway.

MAKE MUSIC NEW YORK DAY at EVERYWHERE (Tuesday 21st)!
I know you're all going to give me shit for saying this because I always say it but seriously, Make Music New York Day is my favorite day in the world in New York. I took off work last year to go to Make Music New York Day haha. GO! FIND GOOD MUSIC! I saw Pearl and the Beard for the first time last year at MMNY and life has never been the same.

Big Tree @ Pete's Candy Store (Thursday 23rd)!
I guess I should be repping the NORTHSIDE festival WHICH YOU SHOULD ALSO ALL GO TO because it's awesome. L Magazine really did it out this year so support them (more on that here: http://www.thelmagazine.com/blogs/NorthsideFestivalNews/) but one of my favy faves: big tree. Go rock out with them.

David Ippolito @ Pier 45 (Friday 24th)!
One of my favorite things about living in the West Village. My pier has a man that literally refers to him as "THAT guitar man" who plays covers and original songs about Facebook and Harry Potter. Run, dont walk.

John Gallagher Jr @ Rockwood Music Hall (Monday June 27th!)
I know the Tony's are over but Johnny's worth seeing during any season. I've been to like 10 of his Rockwood shows and each one has been beyond amazing (my favorite having to be when his parents came and sang songs with him. SO. CUTE.
