30Jul2017 - We want to thank the a group of individuals who drove all the way to DACS to deliver school backpacks, school supplies, shoes and socks for all the refugee kids that F.R.E.E. is sponsoring to attend DACS for the 2017-2018 school year. Organized by women's ministries at the following churches, these items were donated by members of these churches... Murphy SDA Church, Blairsville SDA Church, Franklin NC SDA Church, Andrews SDA Church donated backpacks and school supplies. Additionally the Marietta SDA Church donated the shoes, socks, and school supply boxes plus an additional 6 backpack kits. Items were distributed to each refugee child's assigned classroom ready for the fast approaching first day of school. Pa Earn, a refugee student, helped distribute the items to each classroom. Finally they brought a carload of additional clothing items and toys which we then transported to our outreach center in Clarkston, GA. Thank you one and all so very much.

29July2017 - We were thrilled for all the refugee children and volunteers who turned our for the "Refugee Birthday Bash" put on by a group from Fusion SDA Church from Atlanta. Pictured are a few of the refugee children who attended. Thank you Fusion members and volunteers.

And special thanks to our "Firefly Ministries Cooking Team" who provided lunch for us while making sidedishes for the poor, single senior citizens in our community!

11Jul2017 - Another F.R.E.E. day of much activity. At www.freerefugees.org Took 3 refugee children to Mustard Seed Pediatric Dentistry http://www.mustardseeddentistry.com/ for dental care, visited families of refugee children to facilitate filling of 2017-2018 school registration forms for DACS/AAA, yet another day of tutoring classes was held in the F.R.E.E. outreach center in Clarkston, Georgia and cleaned / dressed some wounds for one young refugee boy who stepped on a needle in his bare feet while another refugee girl fell and skinned her hand and knee. Finally nearly all the items brought by the Fayetteville SDA Church http://fayetteadventist.org/ yesterday were distributed to refugee families.

10Jul2017 - With the departure of Jason and Carrie Churchwell who had been leading out in our FLAG program (FLAG = Fun Learning About God) we are ever so pleased that Dr. Jeremy Beckworth and his wife and two daughters will be leading out in support of the FLAG program for the refugee children. Jeremy Beckworth and his family have been actively supporting the FREE mission program ( www.freerefugees.org ) for several years now. We are thrilled to have Beckworth's support, but saddened at the departure of the Churchwell family. Jason accepted a position with ADRA ( https://adra.org/ ) which required their relocation out of the local area..

10Jul2017 - We at FREE are so greatful for the many volunteers who are donating their time and talents to support our mission. Joshua Seung Kim is but one example among many who are dedicating an extraordinary amout of service. From mowing the lawn, to clearing dead trees and hauling them off, tilling the soil, cutting hair, to cleaning up trash Mr. Kim is truly a blessing to our mission.

09Jul2017 - Photo of refugees watching with eager anticipation the unload of furniture at the FREE Outreach Center. Went to the FREE Outreach Center to clean the accumulated dust and dirt from the A/C units and paint a sign. While there a group of individuals from the Fayetteville SDA Church arrived with a large U-Haul truck bringing a load of donated furniture and household items. Thank you so very much to the Fayetteville SDA Church members. Also much thanks to Kaz Sanocki for his assistance with the maintenance tasks and help with furniture distribution.

04Jul2017 - Day 10: Summer Tutoring Program at Friends of Refugees Providing Education and Empowerment in Clarkston, Georgia. We celebrated the 4th of July together. The refugee children colored the American flag and learned its meaning. They also had a blast with the sparklers!!

One FINE Day (7/2) in Clarkston GA with Kelli Czaykowsky and Friends of Refugees Providing Empowerment and Education as volunteers from the Atlanta Korean SDA Church assist with area clean-up, haircuts for the refugee children, registration for 43 refugee children headed to Cohutta Springs Youth Camp, etc.

Niang is another stellar example of a recent F.R.E.E. sponsored refugee student. Having graduated in May 2017 from Atlanta Adventist Academy in May of 2017 with an outstanding 4.0 GPA she is spending the summer volunteering at Mustard Seed Pediatric Dentistry as she is laser focused on attending Southern Adventist University with an ultimate goal of becoming a dentist and living a life of service. We are so pleased with how she continues to make use of the opportunities the Lord has opened for her.
