Why exactly do you like Pegasus/Ishizu so much? I've never considered the pairing until I saw your page, so I'm just curious.
Because they’reclearly perfect for each other, duh!
Okay, okay, inseriousness, now. I know it’s a rare pair, so give me a moment towhip out the white board and the soap box…
Among many reasons,one of them is that I really like how their personalities would playoff each other.
There is no doubt inmy mind that Pegasus would be a doting partner to Isis. When hedecides he wants to do something, he throws himself into it 10000%and keeps going. This is the guy who was told people were droppinglike flies a la King Tut’s Curse while developing the Egyptian GodCards, and his answer was:

Take another look at what Pegasus says in the original Japanese episode when Shadi says his soul will perish if he continues creating the Egyptian God Cards.
Pegasus is a man who does not half-assanything he does. Hewouldn’t be content to “merely” love Isis: he would adore her,lavish her, sing praise, and worship the ground she walks on. WithPegasus, one gets complete, unrestrained, unconditional commitment. Youdon’t just get this man’s heart— he gives you every part ofhimself, body and soul.
For many, this wouldbe overbearing, smothering, suffocating, but I don’tthink it would be too much for Isis, because she understands whatit’s like to love someone to the point that you would be willing togive your entire self in their stead. Lest we forget, she was willingto die for her brother.
Isis doesn’t half-ass anything she does either.
She understands the depths and extremes onewould go to for the ones they love, how one can be consumed by theirown will to the point of sacrifice. In this, she wouldn’t questionwhere Pegasus’ passions come from, and in truth, thepassion towards her would be more constructive as compared to hisstarved quest from years past seeking out the touch of the dead.
Also, Pegasus’devotion would remind her, every day, that her life has more worthand significance than her father had instilled her to believe sincebirth.
Her mother died when she was four years old, which left her in the “care” of a man who turned his back on her on Day 1. She probably grew up being ignored and neglected, being constantly reminded that her worth was inherently less than that of Malik’s. Her only purpose to the clan was to live in the shadow of her little brother and fetch supplies from the surface. Everything in the clan depended on Malik’s survival, not hers. Isis is the first born by blood, but in the eyes of her father (and possibly the Ishtar clan as a whole), she was an afterthought.
She still loves her little brother dearly, but I imagine as her life progressed after Atem’s passing, itwould take Isis a long time to come to terms that she does not solelyexist for the sake of Malik or the Pharaoh, or anyone else. She mustlive for herself, and be a whole person on her own, if she is toenjoy life to its fullest in the light. Pegasus’ adulation can reinforce her and push those dark thoughts away.
It is important to note, however, that Pegasus does not completeIsis, and Isis does not fill the void Cyndia left, because they are not incomplete asindividuals. They are not puzzles with missing pieces. They arepeople who have the strength within themselves to bear their scars and moveon from the agonies that had been inflicted upon them by theirrespective Items.
Items which, also, were never actively sought out or excitedly accepted by either party– their roles in the End Game were forced on them by Shadi’s interference.
Alone, they aretheir own persons, but together, as they progress through life, theyhave someone who inspires them to be a better version of theirself without changing who they are at their core. The “sight” in Sightshipping cannot only denote the powers granted to them by the Eye and the Torque, but also in that either party is wholly capable of revealing a hidden aspect within the other person that they had not realized prior.
Isis can returnPegasus’ devotion and fealty in tandem, but she does have more tactand restraint in answer to his unbridled enthusiasm.
Isis is an anchorthat keeps Pegasus from drifting too far from the shore in the storm,and Pegasus, in return, stokes a fire within Isis that would haveotherwise remained as a flickering ember. Where Pegasus, a creatureof sentiment, is about to dive head first into the fray, Isis is thehand on his shoulder and the discipline that whispers “Wait amoment and take a closer look.” Where Isis, a creature ofdeliberation, is hesitant and fretting over all the possibleoutcomes, Pegasus is the force that tugs her forward and theencouragement that shouts “Go for it!”
The reason I loveSightshipping is because you have two people who would be whollyinvolved with one another, who complement each other’s strengths andround out each other’s deficiencies. You have a man who isundoubtedly dedicated, devoted, and faithful in every aspect, and heisn’t afraid to show it to the world. You have a magnanimous womanwho oozes divinity (she’s named after two goddesses, forcrying out loud), bears unyielding fidelity, graciously accepts thebrazen, unshackled ardor of her greatest admirer with poise, andreturns his adoration in kind.
In essence, many ofthe reasons I love Sightshipping are the exact reasons I love therelationship between Morticia and Gomez Addams.
Swap out the gothicaesthetic for toons and Egyptian motifs, and you have Pegasus andIsis.
Reread my reasonsand look at those gifs again. Try to tell me, honestly, youcan’t imagine Pegasus and Isis in their place. Tell me that you thinkPegasus does not have it in himself to look at Isis every day thatsame way Gomez looks at Morticia. I dare you to tell me thatIsis would not hold herself with the same grace and wit as Morticiawhen Pegasus dotes on her for the hundredth time that day.
They’re perfect foreach other.
(TL;DR I loveSightshipping because Isis and Pegasus are the magical Egyptian cardgame AU version of Morticia and Gomez)
