What do you think of nina x charioce? Isnt it too forced? And it kind of irritates me how nina would still be into him despite all the things she knows he's done. Doesnt seem like her
we don’t know ‘how’ Nina usually is. it’s possible nina herself still doesn’t understand the situation she’s in.
nina tells us she transforms every time her heart races in front of attractive guys; she assumes it’s bcs of attraction.
her mother in this ep tells us it’s simply bcs of a combination of father complex and past trauma. she even clarifies that the guys nina transforms for have similarity to her father.
and I do notice that the guys she gets red faced for are all decidedly adult-looking. I used to think perhaps she’s just into older guys or something.
also this kinda puts all those guys nina get red-faced for in a new light.
that in a way, they reminds her of her long gone father.
the guys in the river in ep2 are acceptable bcs they look strong, moving things around like that.
kaisar I could understand bcs he looks serious and seems responsible, just like a father figure.
favaro also I could understand, bcs a mentor in a way is also a parental figure.
charioce I could *perfectly* understand, bcs not only he looks cool, he’s gentle and welcoming to her.
(also pls note that charioce never *personally* being horrible to her; it’s always to other ppl. these ppl may and may not be her acquaintance (jeanne, azazel, mugaro), but he never *directly* hurts her. I think this actually really matters.)
but azazel tho. girl where the hell did you see a father figure in him? in ep1, she hasn’t seen mugaro with him, so she can’t say it’s bcs he has a kid who tags along with him.
which makes me think that those azanina scenes in ep1 is actually foreshadowing for charinina plotline.
bacchus tells her that ‘the rag demon can’t be a good person’, and she tries to capture him for the bounty with the understanding he’s a bad person.
(she hears ppl telling her the king is bad; she believes it and even tries to go against the king to save other ppl)
azazel saves her from falling and for some reason she just stares at him, not comprehending; the moon shines on them so she could see his face, find him attractive, and BOOM! transforms she goes.
(chari saves her from bandits, and is nice to her throughout their date and dance.)
the moment she sees azazel again, she doesn’t try to capture him anymore, goes red-faced instead.
(the moment after chari telling her he’s the king, she focuses more on her good memories of him, instead of the bads (which she still only hears about and never experiences herself)).
for me those 3 similar instances kinda… explain her personality, maybe.
that it doesn’t matter how bad a person is, that the moment she decides she likes them, she. will. like. them.
no logic no reason, just feelings, hell or heaven be damned.
I’m not trying to excuse or explain charinina to you;
i’m just trying to make out her personality, bcs ever since ep8, she looks incredibly ignorant to me, and this bothers me a lot bcs she *is* the supposed protag.
I did make a nina post about her transformation, and in it I said that she focuses more on the bright side of things bcs she’s a bright kid who only wants to see positive things.
but what if she’s actually simply ignorant? that she’s genuinely doesn’t understand what’s exactly happening or what’s at stake? you can’t feel sad or depressed if you don’t know/don’t understand that you’re supposed to.
she treats her being jailed as a *vacation*.
you can’t tell me she just hides her sadness or her stress bcs it’s clear she doesn’t feel any of it.
but then brings love and first love and she suddenly reacts?????
I’m just. excuse me??? it feels rather inappropriate to me.
idk. I guess we need to continue watching in order to know what’s actually up. esp since in the new op, nina wears a rather stern face - which is highly unusual for her.
