realizing that the online sphere and especially tumblr is NOT a good sample for ‘what everyone thinks’ is so, so, so good for your mental health and moral OCD. i swear to god. realizing that you don’t have to live your actual life like you’re being hunted for sport because the average tumblr user will hunt you for sport for wording something slightly weird or engaging in the wrong stuff or whatever is so incredible. like no you’re actually not fucked up and evil for not donating or for watching that one indie cartoon or questioning a post that everybody is agreeing with. that’s just tumblrs georg making you feel that way

I love you Zutara fandom, I love how despite all the harassment and bullying and death threats from fellow fans and the creators themselves we have fanarchically (new word I'm coining) created an extended universe that rewrites the contemporary myth so that the heroine that so many of us looked up to as kids has her interiority back and gets to be with the guy who actually respects her. I love how badly it pisses off the creators who want to use Katara as a fantasy partner for their self-insert that we have seized the story and will continue to make it our own and there's nothing they can do about it.

Since it apparently needs to be said, I'm not claiming the creators off atla sent anyone death threats (to my knowledge). Grammar is difficult like that. My fault for assuming that people wouldn't immediately assume the absolute worst.

the thing is that I'm actually trying pretty hard to NOT make A.ang too punchable in my fic, I'm trying to keep him at a level of punchability that is accurate to the source material. not that I'm taking no liberties with his character, I'm gonna lean into the worst traits they gave him that went unaddressed, but really I'm trying to not get over-the-top with it, but already the comments are like "damn i really want to punch him" and at a certain point I cannot be held responsible for A.ang's punchability because I'm just stayin true to the source material and it's not my fault they made him so punchable in s3.
