mhaposting again sorry. slightly because horikoshi's new oneshot is coming out soon and i will be tuning in because his art is incredibly gorgeous storytelling be damned. i was flipping through my mha artbook and also thinking about how uraraka and todoroki had a much deeper connection to their respective villains because it was developed at much earlier points of the story compared to midoriya and shigaraki. the seed was planted but was never watered or sown until final arc which is truly a shame because the setup was looking so good. a ton of parallels between the two in terms of relationships and ideals (midoriya being the protege to all might, shigaraki to AFO, both of them failed by hero society as children, shigaraki essentially being the what-if scenario to midoriya if he never encountered all might again after the rooftop, and midoriya being exploited by the heroes during his rogue arc, both of them wearing the same damn red shoes) like i can't believe the only meaningful conversation they had was in season 2 during the mall encounter? that's crazy?

rereading silver spoon so I can finally get off my ass and finish it. This page really catches me because up to this point hachiken has been hung up on finding a dream like everyone else. He's aimless, but he still gets up to do the work he's given and more (i.e. tutoring tokiwa, cramming textbooks he had no initial interest in only to academically ahead); but then hearing that having a dream alone isn't enough.... hachiken basically has the will and the rigor, just not something specific to dedicate it to; while some of the other characters like aikawa will find that his dream ends up conflicting with the kind of person he is

hachiken is such a good character man he's moved by the smallest things like in this scene with the thank you and the pizza from the earlier chapters, when he sees everyone smiling and laughing together, a small gesture in and of itself but ultimately was the culmination of his hard work. the development of him being a hyper-individualistic student to one that is the catalyst for change and larger projects that involve the rest of the student body is so refreshing. yes there is a life beyond academics and high achievements and corpo life go find that community!!!! go forge the life you've always wanted!!!!!

this frame of gabby so cute urgh....... this episode was a doozy esp for her. man hearing her outburst during the fight.. the va did so well. the sheer intensity and pain of her voice during it all, as though asa's struggles were her own. the gabby backstory reveal will be a nuclear bomb but i imagine that she went through something similar to asa and that's why shes so attached. the one other character with no established last name, no government identity, clearer attachment and respect to tsugai instead of people. even for tsugai who have been from enemy parties, she's willing to give a proper burial for. i wouldn't be surprised if gabby chose her name based off gabriel's

#classic arakawa move .all of your stories ending in happy endings and that always includes farming. based #but this sequence made me so sad. such simple desires. and i think that's what makes arakawa's stories so compelling #these protagonists are willing to bend life and limb for a chance at normalcy #something that so many people take for granted! to be able to have that sense of peace. just being able to exist with your family #yozakura being the only one in this sequence showing any visible empathy for yuru dude guhughuhuhhhhhh #and it kills me that yuru has been having this desire for this long #his parents left 10 years ago. did he ever think that he'd see them again? like realistically .before shit went down #he mightve come to terms with it when he got older and thats why he was attached to the hip with the fake asa #but i guess upon learning of the world below #seeing the photo of mine and nagisa #that being the first time he's seen their faces in 10 years.... that dream could be real #ok sorry yapping in your tags. my fucking son #ynt

#i think yuru will claim seal but left and right will go to a new master #probably dera since he had their vessels before throwing it onto yuru #I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the story yuru veers off from the main crew with a smaller party and ends up claiming seal in+#the process #not to compare with her past works but like ed joining heinkel and darius for a bit #and in silver spoon #when hachiken starts developing his own project/business #(still havent finished that series though so i dont know how that ends)#but asa and yuru probably wont be together at the time of yuru claiming seal #and i can't tell if yuru would break off on his own or against his will yet #but it seems like he has no intentions of claiming seal willingly #ynt

to be honest ch 55 gave me as much anxiety as it did comfort i loveee the little moments of mundanity the twins were able to experience and meeting a new friend their age in kuro but the conversation between left and funadamasama + the topics of trust + the last panel of the twins' grandmother also calling for yuru is making me nervous. it makes me feel like the daemon controlling their grandmother is going to play a part in yuru claiming seal should it happen (and i feel the likelihood is pretty high)

dude i literally have a post in my drafts about yuru and his inability to trust and then i read ch 55 WHAT A TREAT . MY FREAKING SON. YES GO EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF LIFE WITH LOVED ONES AND THE REPRIEVE OF BEING ABLE TO TRUST IN OTHERS. STOP SURVIVING AND START LIVING. i love that a key part of yuru's development has been going from trusting based on bloodlust + hunting independently -> forgiving those who have hurt him before and finding the goodwill in people he has and continues to meet

although this chapter basically solidified to me that there will be a conflict between left and yuru in the future and he will probably have his trust betrayed in that sense or something else so i will continue reading in fear
