( alandra. )
feeble steps carried the girl towards her room, figuring she may get some time a l o n e before her roommate returned. the brunette always tried to find times in which she could be alone, for loneliness in a crowd was far worse than sitting alone with her thoughts —— at least, that’s what she told herself. perhaps she simply needed some time. however, it seemed as if l u c k had run out, for on her way towards the shared room, she ran into the girl. the sight which met her, however, caused a frown to graze her features, ❛ you do not look fine, ❜ alandra’s head tilted slightly, as if to get a better look of the injury the girl had sustained, ❛ if you just go to our room, i’ll come after with something to clean it with ? can’t have it getting infected. ❜
being alone was something she treasured, sought after; that was why when rheya went on raids, she tried to go alone — even if it wasn’t the smartest move in the world. but alas, she couldn’t be alone all the time. as her roommate’s head tilted to look at the injury, rheya moved her head, trying to cover up the wound. the brunette didn’t like to be cared for or asking for help, but at this point, she had to swallow her pride — she nodded her head slightly, “Yeah, thanks,” she mumbled, giving her a small smile before she pushed open the door to their quarters and went to sit down on her bed, sighing and slipping off her jacket, folding it and placing it on the bed, before she flopped down, staring up at the ceiling for a couple of moments before closing her eyes.
( xavier. )
to xavier, the outside world was a mystery, and quite frankly, a mystery they didn’t want to solve. it was something about the toxic air, the way nature had taken over and adapted in its on way in order to flourish once again that was beautiful. surely, the break-out had brought more bad and good, but at least mother nature had evolved, which was essential to the survival of the whole human race. ❝ you’re fine ?? you look like absolute crap —- no offence. ❞ he commented, taking out a cloth out of his inner pocket. ❝ clean yourself up, branch fucker. maybe try not to lift a fucking branch on your own and drop it like an idiot. ❞
with her eyebrow raised and her arms crossed over her chest , rheya looked up at the taller male incredulously, “You should really work on your uplifting pep-talks, seriously, they suck,” she retorted, taking the cloth from him and grumbling a ‘thank you’ and gently pressing it to her face. rheya rolled her eyes at his stupid nickname, blood boiling even further, “how the fuck would a branch hit me in the face if i lifted it, you ass? i pushed the fucking branch out of the way but it whacked me in the damn face — now I know that sounds even stupider, but if you say anything i swear to christ i’ll kick you so hard in the nuts they’ll go into your damned mouth.”
( rosamaria. )
‘ so what you’re SAYING is ╾╾ ’ a brief moment was taken to pause in order to prevent laughter from oozing out. ‘ ╾╾is that you fought against a tree and L O S T ? ’ a chuckle then sadly followed, dark hues looking the other individual over with a sharp eye. she wasn’t one for medical-type situations, mainly because the only thing she was actually good at was fixing vehicles and other things. the other woman looked defeated, and not in a physical way, which then resulted in rosamaria placing a hand on her shoulder ( she wasn’t the best at comforting other individuals ). ‘ i’m sure if you give it a COUPLE more go-arounds, you’ll be a lot better at it than you are now. ’ it might have not helped, but at least she did try to make some sort of normal socialization.
“Oh very funny — you’re fucking hilarious,” Rheya drawled, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest. Usually the brunette wasn’t all too snappy and at least had a higher tolerance for people and whatever they did or said but today wasn’t like usual. She pressed the back of her hand against the cut on her cheek, wincing slightly and sighing, glancing down as she felt the woman’s hand on her shoulder and bit down on her lower lip, looking up at her and giving her a small nod of her head, “I hope you’re right,” she grumbled, even though the girl knew that she was already an expert at her job and definitely not reason why she was feeling so defeated — alas, she wasn’t going to be an ass and disregard the woman’s attempt to comfort her
( mattie )
“you seem off.” they’ve never been one for subtlety, and perhaps it isn’t mattie’s place to be calling someone they’ve only known for a week out in such a blunt manner, but they do it anyways. because the woman does seem off, like she’s - upset? maybe. worried? they frown just slightly, the barest downturn at the corners of chapped lips. the still-healing gash across their forehead is red and angry still. maybe they shouldn’t be judging someone based on wound and temperament alone. god knows what the people here think of them, sullen and quiet and wounded, so very new to safe-haven. “…someone should still look at it. infection’s a bitch.”
“Oh do I?” The woman replied condescendingly, “I’d love to hear more about how I’m feeling.” Rehya didn’t mean to snap, she really didn’t, but she couldn’t stop herself. The pain in her chest that had been present for a year now. She wanted to convince herself that every effort she’d made in finding her brother was useless, a waste of precious time, but the monster called hope had settled into her heart. She yearned to hug her brother, to hear him assure her that everything was going to be okay. A shaky breath passed by her lips, “I’m sorry...” she grumbled, her fingers fumbling with the hem of her shirt, “it was a long day,” she shrugged, glancing up at her, “I’ll be sure to get someone to look at it.”

raids always made the brunette excited; half because she got to move around, climb trees, search for things and actually do something productive rather than stand around, looking for things to do around the bunker and the other half because she got a chance to look around for her brother. she knew that he was still alive, that when they’d split up wasn’t the last time she’d seen him. but every time she returned disappointed and bitter, defeated almost. with a small huff she dropped off the supplies she’d found before attempting to make a beeline toward the resting quarters, wanting nothing more than to sit alone and sulk over yet another failed attempt. a small sigh escaped her lips, “i’m fine - tried to push a fucking branch out of the way and i let it go too early, i’ve had worse,” she grumbled, wiping the blood off with the back of her hand, hoping that no more questions would be posed.
&& - jack was no stranger to hard work. he’d been fighting to be the best for as long as he could remember, but this was a different sort of fight entirely. this was anxiety over whether the bunker would hold, listing reinforcements to structures that seemed lacking, and standing guard just outside with the knowledge that he could become one of them. all of that work, all of that fighting, to become the best and he’d forget who the fuck he was. he’d been so lost in thought that the voice surprised him. he turned toward the speaker, expression blank, making it evident that he’d missed whatever the hell they had said to him. “what?” he growled. it was damn near impossible to keep the edge from his voice these days. “need somethin’?”
ever since rheya and her brother lost each other, she’d grown quite accustomed to being alone, just as she was back when she was still living with her parents but she didn’t want to revert back to the lonely person she was as a teen, so she was working on her people skills, which weren’t all too strong unless she was intoxicated or half undressed. a bottle of water was held in her hand, a sort of ice-breaking object slash peace offering toward the man, who seemed to be completely lost in thought; as she heard his deep voice, she wasn’t intimidated but instead held up the bottle slightly higher, “i asked if you wanted some water?” she said, attempting a friendly voice and noticing that she was failing miserably, “actually, you look like you’d prefer if i left you alone; just ignore me, i’m an idiot.”
( sasha. )
the woman had been rushed into the infirmary by a group of raiders. they’d dumped her on a bed, the white sheets soon turning crimson. sasha had been accosted by a member of the group as she crossed the room, intent on seeing to another patient. however, having seen the state the woman was in, her priorities changed. her training kicked in. she sent one of the younger medics to look after her patient and attended to the woman herself, working tirelessly over her fading body. hours later sasha was finally out of the infirmary, but her scrubs were covered with the bright red liquid. “she’s gone.” her voice was hoarse. they simply didn’t have the resources to deal with injuries as severe as the woman’s. “they lied to me, at medical school, it doens’t get easier.” she felt it, each time she lost a patient. her already tattered heart broke even more.
the moment she saw people rushing toward the infirmary, rheya grew a bit too curious and cautiously followed them, peeking into the infirmary and watching the woman work meticulously to save the woman’s life. after two hours of pacing around, curiosity gripping at her, she decided to take a seat next to the infirmary, toying with her fingers as she awaited some sort of news. she had no idea who the woman inside was, but for some reason, she was hoping that the woman would make it through. when she heard the footsteps, her head shot up, her eyes softening as the woman announced that her patient hadn’t made it. a slight twinge was felt in rheya’s heart and a small sigh slipped past her lips; she placed her hand on the woman’s shoulder, “you did all you could,” she spoke quietly, “at least she didn’t pass by herself...”
( charlotte. )
lotte had spent most of her day in the kitchens, finishing up breakfast and then moving right on into lunch. it felt as though she hadn’t had a break, but now that she was sat down and eating, the day seemed to be looking up. glancing up at a passing figure, she smiled widely and said, “if you’d like to sit, i wouldn’t mind the company.”
rheya wasn’t really the one for company; she preferred to be alone but she was trying to change that, so when she heard the friendly voice, she quickly turned around, gripping the water bottle in her hands. the brunette quickly nodded her head, hesitating slightly before sliding into the chair opposite the blonde, “Thanks...” she spoke quietly, before she cleared her throat, “I’m Rheya.”
— introductory post && biography
hi hey hello!! my name is mickey this is my wonderful little baby rheya. i still need to get her pages and links in line but for now, i’m gonna put up the lil beb’s biography:
rheya matilda dawson was born on the 20th of march 1991, to angele and thomas dawson, two incredible neurosurgeons. she was their second child, their first one being a boy, who they adopted ten years prior to her when he was a year old. they loved their children, but they showed their love in quite a peculiar way; they weren’t the ones to coddle their kids and were certain that by giving them a good house, food on the table and a good education, they were doing their jobs right. they needed to be prepared for the hardships they were to face during their lifetime and being cuddled and protected wasn’t going to help them.
from a very young age, the girl showed an incredibly intelligent streak, always being top of her class but she was also incredibly adventurous and mischievous, always doing her homework while hanging upside down on the monkey bars or while she was on the roof of their house. her parents often got angry at her, telling her that she would probably get into a whole lot of trouble before she would become a doctor.
but becoming a doctor was her parents’ dreams for her. she always wanted to become a programmer and she would never ever let anyone get in the way of that. her brother was fully supportive of her; he was her best friend, the person she always turned to and the person who loved her no matter what. her parent’s absolutely refused to pay for her college tuition unless she went to medical school — she ended up having to work as a stripper to get some sort of fund going. of course, rheya hid this from her whole family but one night, her brother encountered her at the strip club she worked at and decided to help her out. he’d been a doctor for two years and he had quite a lot of money saved up, so he was able to and with his help, she began the journey to her dream job. rheya actually moved out of her parents’ house and into her brother’s apartment.
the two had just returned from school and work when they got a call from one of their parents’ co-workers; apparently they’d been killed due to a freak accident. rheya felt little to no remorse for her parent’s death - they made her life a living hell, always trying to control her and forcing her into doing something she didn’t want just because they were pretentious fucks, who wanted her to chose prestige over being happy.
when the outbreak became stronger, the siblings stuck together, never leaving each others side and always having each others back. this worked out for three years and they were the strongest team you could ever imagine; they were equal parts brain and muscle, her brother obviously had a height advantage, but rheya had developed a thick skin from when she worked as a stripper and never backed down from a challenge. at the beginning of this year, they ran into a hoard of walkers and couldn’t manage and they ended up having to split up. for half a year, rheya was alone and for once, she was scared. without her brother by her side, it was as if she’d lost a limb. after six months on her own, she came across aela, and even though she really wanted to look for her brother, she needed a safe place, a place where she could turn to, maybe she wouldn’t be alone.
