I met Bone Dance for the first time in the spring of 2010. Almost 4 years ago now. Weird how time flies by. Since the first time I watched these dudes play music, I knew there was something different about them. Morgan, the vocalist, had the gnarliest voice I had ever heard to this day. So fucking gritty, pissed off and naturally loud. It was a trip more so because he was a very soft spoken individual off stage. The rest of the band just worked: Pat would play these insanely technical but groovy drum parts and the string guys were always solid as rocks. The shows were top notch and these guys never held back. I still listen to this band 4-5 days a week at the gym, and it’s a cool feeling knowing that I’ve hung out with these cats on multiple occasions; done short tours and played a bunch of great shows. Anyways, Bone Dance were one of the best new age hardcore/metal bands to come out in a very long time. I’m sad they are broken up, and it bums me out that I’ll never get to play with them again. Their music will always have a strong effect on me, no matter how much time passes. Honest, dark, aggression-fueled music done 110% right.
