Andymori - Hikari/Light (Lyrics Translation)

This is a song I’ve been listening to pretty much every day since it came out because I just love it so much and I can never get sick of it. But this is one of those songs that I like because of the melody, because I couldn’t understand a single word when I first listened to it. After 5 years and after learning a bit more japanese, I’m going to try translating the lyrics. It turns out it’s a tad bittersweet, instead of happy all around as the giddy melody suggests. But HUGE DISCLAIMER: I am in no way a native speaker and there might be some mistakes. Feel free to correct me, I just want to learn :>

So I’ve gotten into doing this, huh. ^^;; Here’s another attempt at one of my faves from andymori’s 5th and last album! It’s such a sad song about not wanting to grow up, at least not in the way that everybody else seems to be doing it. I resonate with this one a lot  >< Anyway here it is!

andymori - クレイジークレーマー (Crazy Claimer/Clamour) Lyrics Translation

Yet another lyrics translation! I know not a lot of my followers are into Japanese, but I just really like doing this and I’m learning so much doing it too!

So, just an introduction, this song was probably written for a friend of Souhei Oyamada (the songwriter), who overdosed on drugs and passed away. The friend was extremely depressed and in a very bad mental state, and this song is probably dedicated to them, so the “you” in this refers to this friend.

The official translation of  “ クレーマー “ is “claimer” in English but I’m inclined to think it stands for “Clamour” instead, as in a confused shout, or a person who shouts confusedly a lot. ( クレーマー means a person who always complains in Japanese, but I’m not sure which foreign word it’s derived from, it’s definitely a derived foreign word though) That out of the way, here it is:

so since october Kenji and Hiroshi have been accompanying Furutachi Yutaro on his tour to promote his first album - as his drummer and bassist of course, alongside guitarrist Kato Ryouta. Hello I have a request; do you do translations? Well, I have been searching for a translation of "Weapons of mass destruction" by andymori and I haven't found one anywhere.. I'm so sad cause it's a wonderful song that I can feel but not understand...

!! classicus’ first album “classicus is not like that” will be released on December 7th!!! the album can already be preordered on amazon.co.jp. they’re going to perform an one-man live to promote the album on the 10th.  also Kenji’s brother recently joined classicus as their guitarrist too!! their official website has previews for three songs from the album! you might also remember kenji has released an EP earlier this year and that one + a lp single can be bought on their website as well, but afaik it doesn’t ship internationally? ...why god   GET EXCITED
