hey fam i don't know if anyone told you but you got pixellated by tumblr because of the nsfw ban...

Yup, noticed that a while ago after logging back on tumblr. Good thing is, followers and other users can still view the blog sidebar-style, I know it’s pretty inconvenient but at least it works. And any new posts will show up on your dashboards, they just won’t show in tags or search. 

This blog isn’t exactly the most active one and I’m pretty busy outside of tumblr as well, but I’ll have to see about getting the blog back to its normal state at some point. I’ll have to check the guidelines to see if they have any reasons to ban blogs based on violent content (which this blog has, although it’s pretty tame), or if the blog was falsely flagged because they thought it had nsfw content (I don’t believe I’ve yet posted any straight-up pornographic material or even anything particularly gory). It might all take a while though.

In a way, Kare Kano may be an okay example of a male yandere who settles down. Arima is not yandere at the start but is worried about becoming a darker person and later exhibits some yandere thoughts and behavior. It's a really good shoujo manha on it's own!

Can you recommend any works where the yandere is able to overcome their unhealthy behaviours or at least tone them down by the end? Possibly thanks to help from their love interest but any way would be cool. Love the blog!

Hmm... yandere characters in visual novels sometimes have happy endings where they calm down after getting together with the main character, at least if said game has happy endings to begin with, and not just bad ones. At least Keisuke in Togainu no Chi has a happy ending. Another one would be Villager in the third Dot Kareshi game, which I also enjoyed. Same goes for the yandere characters in Cheritz’s games, out of which Nameless is probably my favourite one, with Mystic Messenger riding close behind. 

One manhwa that comes to mind is Cherry Boy, That Girl. I don’t want to spoil the whole ending, but I’d say it’s happy enough, and I greatly enjoyed the series in general. 

Can’t really think many off the top of my head. It’s quite usual that yandere characters just can’t have happy endings, even if it makes sense in the story. So sometimes it’s nice to see them get better and end up happy. As usual, feel free to add if you have any recommendations, people^^

Is hard to portrait with one sole picture, and yes, at first is diabetes overdose, but as you read you realize how codependent, extreme and obsessive the male lead is :) more in a sense that he would do anything for his lover, to the point of hurting himself, and doesn’t care about anyone else.

The fujoshi who have gotten fictional gay characters conflated with real gay people are usually immature or unable to make the distinction between reality and fiction. They would have done that with other characters. The word fujoshi was more of a reclaiming of the word by Japanese women who were told they were "rotten" by men. Rottenboysclub and a few other fundashi, or gay men who would be the male equivalent, have spoken at length about the subject of fujoshi. Gay men aren't a monolith.

I don’t really want to turn this into a debate on the subject since this blog isn’t for that, but I’ll go with ‘gay’ and ‘het’ for the tags for now. I’m personally a bisexual woman in charge of this blog, so I can understand lgbt people’s discomfort with the BL/GL genres, since it’s often straight people (both men and women) obsessing over m/m and f/f content, which is sometimes objectifying and fetishsizing. On the other hand I also have a lot of m/m ships myself despite being a woman, and I have several straight friends who also ship m/m and f/f a lot and are totally respectful about it, so it’s not like everyone doing that is a creep, let alone downright malicious. 

The decision to use the tags ‘gay’ and ‘het’ isn’t because there’s necessarily anything wrong with BL or BL fans (there’s quite a bit of wholesome BL manga these days, and as I said, some BL artists and shippers can be perfectly respectful about it), it’s more because relationships in BL are gay by nature, but associating any gay characters/ships with BL (even if they are, say, made by gay people who don’t want that association) puts off some people.

I’m sure people will disagree, and I definitely get where you’re coming from, but I feel like this serves the needs of most people, and I personally find it more comfortable as well.

No problem, I completely understand - I was actually wondering if that would be appropriate or not, I just used it since anon used it in their message, but I can definitely just use ‘gay’ instead. So ‘gay’ and ‘het’ might be better for tags^^

Hello! I just want to say I love your blog so much! If it is not any trouble for you, I was wondering if you could please tag whether a male yandere is in a bl or straight relationship so you can see which is which, and it is easier to find what you are looking for? Sorry my English is not so good!

Sure thing! And no worries, your English is perfectly readable. Somebody actually mentioned this in an ask at some point, but they didn’t really specify whether it was a suggestion/request, so I haven’t been doing it yet. 

I’ll be tagging ‘BL’ and ‘het’ from now on if an art piece/series features a relationship, other stuff will stay untagged though. And I probably won’t be going back to do this on old posts since that’d be a lot of work, unless I happen to have a lot of extra time.

So theres a webtoon on lehzin called ‘My Student Can’t Be a Psychopath’ and it’s just great. It has plenty of yandere moments and the male yandere is also pretty funny along with being creepy so it’s a definite plus! It’s on lehzin however so only the first 14 chapters are free, but I’m sure theres other places to read the remaining chapters if you look hard enough.

Holy shit. I’ve been looking at you’re blog for a while now, and just discovered your love for しとお. I love him (I think he’s a him?) as well!

It’s good to see Shitoo get some love, I’m still personally a big fan of their music and art (I’m not sure if they’re male or female, so I can’t say anything on that subject).

For anyone that needs a reminder, Shitoo is the author of the vocaloid song series and planned visual novel One-Eyed Ripper that I posted about last year. After said post was made they have made at least one more comic related to the series, and it seems that in July of this year, they revealed an official site for the game, which so far has an explanation on the project as well as character bios.

Inuwashi Momo Wa Yuruganai

Is a weird one for this blog. Its good in general and super sweet. If you don’t like romance that moves at a snails pace this is not for you. The story revolves around Momo and her two yandere-ish brothers who are as obsessed with her as she is with them. The kicker is that the siblings dont know about each others weird co-dependant feelings.

So a third party enters and threatens to rat out Momo as a brocon. New guy is kinda weird but the “siblings” are way weirder. Im 90% sure the twins are not her real bros at this point because the obsession level is way higher than what shoujo usually tries to pass off as cute.

Momo herself is a pretty fun character who hides her zany self under a perfect sisterly mask. If her brothers weren’t nuts this would be a fairly average shoujo but I dont know whats happening here. Its at the end of volume two now and New Guy has not even reached “friend” status yet.

Usually I dont count edgy monologues as yandere but the brothers weird kinda supernatural control over Momo is a sign of at least one worthwhile yandere in my eyes.

I will check back on this one in volume 3.
