My mind keeps drifting off to darkfic ideas.

Grace intentionally makes himself sick so that Rocky can care for him (Munchhausen syndrome). I guess with the malnutrition he doesn't need to pretend, but maybe he can start early.

Rocky makes Grace sick (Munchhausen by proxy). Just a tiny bit sick, just enough for him to dote on Grace. Technically, Munchhausen by proxy is about external validation but whatever.

Grace and Rocky have sex. Not out of love and not even out of curiosity. Grace pressures Rocky to have sex with him, playing the Nice Guy (TM) card because he's such a Good Friend (TM) and saved Rocky and everything. Rocky is repulsed but totally cornered because he's stuck on this alien spaceship and got nowhere else to go.

Leaving this here to get it out of my system so I can hopefully think in more wholesome terms again. 😬

can't be posting this in any phm tags or i'll get hunted by rabid wolves but i do think theres something very interesting about stratt specifically trying to get grace to consent. Multiple times. She tells him it has to be him, he asks for time. she gives him three hours. he gives reasons why he's saying no, she disproves his reasons. he says no, i'm not doing it, i won't do it. she says please. don't make this difficult.

and in the end he runs, and she has him chased down and drugged to get what she wants. i don't think any of this is an intentional parallel to sexual assault but its there and its interesting to examine it from that viewpoint.

the increasing desperation to get consent when it's really a matter of trying to argue him into submission. they both know grace is saying no because he does not want to die, as simple and selfish and cowardly as that might be, but they both pretend for as long as possible the argument is something else. Because she can't say "you won't die." that's the one thing she can't offer. grace doesn't want to face it because he's ashamed of his real reason for not agreeing, and stratt doesn't want to face it because she can't argue around his real reason for not agreeing.

its getting into the weeds of what consent even is VS coerced consent and i just think its so interesting. because stratt knows, deep down, even if she'd gotten him to say 'yes' on those last few attempts- when the security team was at the door but he hadn't yet run; when he'd said "no, for the children" and she'd gone we both know this is not for your students, none of that would be a real yes. She knows he doesn't want to go because he doesn't want to die. a yes at gunpoint is not a yes. but god she wanted it anyways. she was desperate for it. she could've had him drugged much sooner, halfway through the conversation, a prick at the back of the neck while he's distracted. but she wanted the illusion of consent for her own sake and she dragged it out as long as possible in the hopes he would give her a scrap of a yes. that he would give in even just a little bit, in the end. and grace didn't afford her that. he went down kicking and screaming and crying the whole way.

i do like the idea of the claw hand being a sign of reaching sexual maturity, but i do wonder the impacts that would have on eridian sexuality. like. would it make some kinda.... hands/fine dexterity kink developmentally common? would "freshly moulted claw" be a eridian porn trope/category? is there a scenario where grace rolls a coin across his fingers and rocky has to take a moment to breathe about it

I think dexterity would be a kink even removed from molting. Deft little fingers doing a good job is very appealing to everyone! Everyone will be listening to Grace's soft nimble lithe fingers with much interest when he arrives...

I think a good bit of the interest in freshly molted shell for Eridians might be the danger. Not only are the shells of the freshly molted soft and easily damaged, they are more exposed to the pathogens in Erid's air. They are so easy to potentially harm, so soft and vulnerable and exposed... like prey, or like a baby. Many kinks start from things like this. So easy to damage, the potential for harm or restraining yourself so you don't cause harm... The power this gives you, or that it gives the molted over the unmolted is really interesting.

And then of course the softness itself is hot. You can hear into it so easily! when you touch it, it gives way! Does this leave a permanent impression? Can you mark your partners this way? Harming yourself while soft might be the only time you can feel this specific kind of pain. That might be its own kink!

I really love the idea of Rocky getting completely unexpectedly taken out by little things grace does. Biting a finger or a pen, or rolling a coin through the gaps of his fingers, or even something like typing if he was fast and efficient at it. powerful soft little fingers... so enticing... tap them on my carapace, Grace...

I noticed that Grace likes to be bossed around. Not in like a kinky way (I mean, maybe who knows), but like if he isn't, he doesn't really know what to do with himself. Obviously, he can be independent. That's not what I mean. I mean that when he's in certain situations that he doesn't have strong feelings on, he gets conflicted and panics. Stratt would boss him around, and sure he'd pout, but it's mainly for show. He doesn't actually mind being bossed around. Same with Rocky, Rocky bosses him around and he puts up a small fight occasionally but most of the time he's completely content with being bossed around and I feel like a lot of people forget that it isn't a bad thing that Grace gets bossed around.
