Over the last 12 months I've been lucky to work with an insanely talented and quite entertaining team. We moved to NYC to build a product we are passionate about with a mission to connect amazing people with amazing experiences.

Our community, partners, and all of the relationships we've made along the way make us proud of the product we've built. While we've continued to grow and continued to find the amazing events and experiences to share with you every week, we haven't hit the growth we expected. With that, as of December 10th we will no longer be actively working on Fun Org. You'll no longer be able to purchase events directly through our app but we'll keep the good recommendations coming for the foreseeable future.

We want to thank each Fun Org member for jumping onboard early. We also want to specifically thank our advisors that have supported Fun Org. We owe Micah Baldwin, Martin May, Ryan Freitas and Matt Galligan more than just the hugs we've paid so far.

Our Fun Org relationships and experiences have led us to new adventures and I'm so proud to announce that both Rob and Tyler have joined awesome betaworks companies!

Rob joined Kelly Sutton and team at LayerVault. LayerVault is version control for design and a product we used to help build Fun Org. Rob is leading the development on the desktop app.

Tyler will be rocking design with the pushd team. Pushd is under wraps at the moment, but he joins the allstar team in NYC with Chris Carella, Jeremy Schoenherr, Eric Jensen.

As for me–I am taking the holidays to take a breather and plan my attack for my next adventure. Again, we are so proud of Fun Org and want to thank each of you for being a part of the fun.

Hurricane Sandy

Hello friends,

We've had quite the week in New York City and we hope this finds you all safe and warm with your families and friends.

Just like many of us, a few of our partners experienced damages and hardship from the storm. We are sad to have to cancel and reschedule a few of our events but want to be as supportive as possible to our community. We also appreciate your support of both us and the small businesses we work with to put on our events.

We'll be refunding purchases for cancelled events and will refund purchases to postponed events if you're unable to attend the new dates, although we sure hope you still join us :)

RESCHEDULED + Additional Tickets Crash the Uncubed Afterparty Tuesday, November 13th at 8pm

Crash the Uncubed Afterparty has been rescheduled for Tuesday November 13th. Same location, same time, same fun. The event is sold out early but we have great news. An additional 50 tickets have been released and are available now!

CANCELLED Rumble in the Bronx Brewery Thursday, November 15th at 7:30pm

The Rumble in the BronxBrewery was to be held at the Bronx Brewery and Bruckner Grill. We are heartbroken that both locations sustained damages during the storm and our thoughts are with them as they recover and rebuild.

Sometimes you just can't be everywhere for all of the fun. For times like these, we're all glad to have friends from coast to coast.

It was yet another great weekend for music in San Francisco last weekend. Our close pal Adam Debreczeni snapped these awesome photos of performances from Girl Talk to The XX (and rumor had it The XX was not it's normal chill almost boring set this time around, a welcomed change we hear).

One of the most magical performances of the festival was Divine Fits. The supergroup super brought it - and if the sound wasn't enough, the sunset created the perfect backdrop on the night (top photo above).

Now New York! It's time to ring in CMJ 2012. We're trying to rest up for our CMJ Music Popup Showcase on Thursday at The End Recording Studio in Brooklyn, but with performances by Benjamin Gibbard tonight and Local Natives tomorrow - we doubt much sleep will be had. See you Thursday NYC.

I am crushing on Fun.org so hard right now. I love, love, love finding unexpected things to do. Each week Fun.org releases a limited number of tickets to some really unique events. Bad news bears is that it’s only available in New York and San Francisco right now. If you’re in those two cities, be sure do download the app. Congrats to Jana and Rob on their beta launch.

"Fun Makes My Dreams Come True"

Just in case you missed this last week. Amazing Fun Org members headed to our first event "Buckshot and Blanc" in San Francisco a few weeks ago. Make sure you watch for @philtoronto's solo at :48

A FUN toast from coast to coast.

This last week was overflowing with fun from NYC to SF. Let's get a rundown of the goodness:

Wednesday night we shacked back up with our friends at City Grit for a White Trash Wednesday full of gourmet junk food.

Ever had a chef prepared jalepeño popper? Not sure what goodness was in there, but it was life changing.

We love City Grit not only because of the food, but the venue's ever changing decor and the building's history always add a little extra sauce to the culinary adventure.

It's a pop-up venue in an old church schoolhouse now occupied by a vintage quirky furniture shop. Every night trinkets and furniture are moved around to make way for us hungry souls. Tables are always different, decor is ever changing. Yeah, we are kinda in love with it.

Now on to SF.

We got real crazy and hosted a few lucky members at the Academy of Sciences for an Grownup Sleepover. You could choose what exhibit to sleep next to, meet Claude the Albino Alligator, eat (late night snacks and breakfast were served), drink (bar was open), and be merry.

Our favorite Matt Matteson picked quite the sleeping arrangement.

Same night, different coast.

In NYC, Second Glass put together an awe inspiring spectacle of wine, and our members were down to taste all of it. Yes, all of it.

The idea behind Wine Riot is to make the scary awesome world of wine accessible. If you've ever been to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, this is the GABF of wine.

Second Glass is taking Wine Riot to LA next month. LA, you've been warned.

And...we're getting ready for more.

It's pretty awesome to spread the fun like this. New adventures go live in the app on Wednesday.

Oh, and there are a few more tickets available for the journey to the center of the Earth this Saturday. Can't wait to share the photos of this one.

Sunday, oh Sunday. We might have had the best Sunday on record, ever.

We introduced San Francisco to Fun Org with our partner Stag Dining Group. The event? Buckshot and Blanc. The place? Pacific Rod and Gun Club.

One lucky group gathered in the fog of Lake Merced within SF city limits for a little skeet shooting, fine wining and an 8-course family style meal all put together by our buds at Stag Dining Group.

Who what when where is Stag Dining? It's a bit of creative cuisine, a lot of adventure, and sustainable awesome grub you seriously won't forget. As Stag says. "Come for a great meal, leave with an unforgettable experience."

An early taste of Fun Org

It's no secret: food is fun. Last week we featured a special prelaunch dinner with the team at City Grit. Together we hosted 4 of the top chefs from Portland in their underground Soho dining space in NYC.

The event. PDX NYC FUN. It was a delight to see 50 people in a small room come together offline over one common love...FOOD. The chefs really brought it, too.

Chef Sarah Shafer from Irving St. Kitchen in Portland actually flew 100lbs of pork meat on the plane with her and talked her way into a cab when she landed. (Sarah could definetly moonlight as a comedian, FYI)

Why this event? Why Fun Org? City Grit was just the partner to test out Fun Org with. They are well known in the NYC foodie scene and were a perfect match with Fun Org to highlight the kind of quality events we'll be featuring in NYC and SF.

You'll see adventurous dining, private film screenings, museum sleepovers and off menu dinners in Fun Org. And that's just in the first week.

A special thanks to Uber for providing transportation for Fun Org members, City Grit for rocking the entire night, and Rachel Sklar for the great photos and shout outs all night long.

The annual Outside Lands Music Festival brought Golden Gate Park alive this weekend. We used a little ifttt.com to sift through the 28k Instagram photos of Outside Lands to bring you the best! Talk about fun.

Our prelaunch site is live. No really, LIVE.

Yesterday we launched our new prelaunch site (and a few of you lucky dogs received early invites to become Fun Org members). We're allowing a select few to create their member accounts before we launch the Fun Org app later this summer.

We decided to do something a little different with the site: we wanted our backgrounds to be alive.

We chose this approach because one image couldn't represent all of the amazing experiences you'll find in Fun Org. For example, you'll find early access tickets to an outdoor music festival:

Or a chance to learn to make candies from craft beer:

And these are just a few of the events we're working on with our partners. Fun Org experiences will range from cooking and fine dining to exclusive access concerts and adventures. It's our job to dig and find fascinating events and experiences for you.

Our thought is we'll get you to the exciting events so you can create amazing fun moments that you want to share through Instagram, Path, Facebook, etc.

So that's what we wanted to create with our site. A live background that's ever changing and overflowing with fun moments. We pull photos tagged with #fundotorg and #fun, and what you see is an explosion of laughter and diversity. The background automatically updates every 15 minutes with new photos.

As we start to finalize the partners and events that will be available to you at launch (whom we'll be highlighting right here on this very shiny blog), we can't help but look like these smiling faces on our site.

* Protip: tag your instagram photos with #fundotorg and you might just find a super secret invite in your inbox.

What Fun Org is all about. (hint: fun)

Well hello, great to see you.

We hope this is the start of a long and wonderful relationship! We've been crankin' on Fun Org with one purpose. Helping you get out and have more fun.

What exactly have we been crankin' on?

Here at Fun Org we've been digging and researching to find out who you are and what activities and experiences you love. We discovered that there are so many event partners, sites, apps, and magazines with so many interesting activities. We also discovered that it is too hard to sift through all of those, and the really good stuff gets lost. Lastly, we discovered that purchasing events and activities is really painful.

So here we are, and we've set out to do two big things with Fun Org:

Find the most exciting events and experiences from the coolest partners we can find. If it's not deemed fun, you won't find it here.

Make it delightfully simple to discover and purchase those events and experiences.

Fun Org will be delivering all this fun through a members only mobile app. Membership will be free of course, but by invite only. Amazing design. Awesome events. Are you ready?

What's Next?

Next week we will start to send out invites to join Fun Org. (If you haven't signed up yet, we recommend doing that soon). Our early members will receive a credit for jumping on early, and other exclusive perks after we launch. I won't say too much more here, you'll just have to wait for your email next week.

We'll also start to announce our event partners in coming weeks. You'll want to stick around for this. From indie companies putting on jaw dropping experiences to the big guys and can't miss concert venues. Can you tell we are a little excited?

The Fun Org app will launch late this summer in NYC and SF, but we'll also keep you posted right here as we get closer (sneak peeks anyone?)

Our goal is to make Fun Org explode with fun from the first time you open the app to the moment you walk into that event. Finding fun is hard. We believe it shouldn't be.
