Whatever happens with Seb, if they don't show us the moment Robert and Aaron see him the first time, I'll be mad 😅 Really hard to even imagine if they've seen a picture of him when he's older. I'd assume so?

That is a crucial moment. We better see it if they ever actually do this story.

If they’re going to pretend Seb doesn’t exist, does that mean we can erase hell year 2017 from canon? I’m always shocked when I catch a glimpse of a photo of him in their house. He exists in spirit but is that even allowed?

See...I don't hate 2017 the way some people do. There were intense feelings and a wedding and a prison story where characters were allowed to feel the after effects of it and good angst and pining and character arcs and a relationship arc. Say what you will, but that was an actual story there even if there were parts of it I did not enjoy.

But yeah, every time they show that picture behind them I'm like "LOOK! SEE! REMEMBER!!!" But alas.

This isn’t me being hopeful. It’s more about what I expect from the show at this point. I don’t think neither Aaron nor Robert mentioned Seb after Robert’s return but all of a sudden, they were planning to contact Angela so they can see Seb after they came back from filming Corriedale their get-away-from-Kev holiday. If the next time we see Robron again, they’re planning to reschedule that Angela meeting, that’s about how I expected it to go.

"Oh hey Angela...we'd like to reschedule that meeting we had to cancel after my psycho prison husband showed up and started shooting at us!"

"It's been nearly a year Robert, I don't think—"

"Yeah, lot's happened since then so anyway, I still really want to see my son, my boy, so if you could just make that happen..."

Haha...

I mean yes, I do think if it comes up again there will be zero build up to it and the fact that it's been literally forever since the last time they brought it up will not be mentioned at all and we will all be expected to forget it because that's how this stupid fucking show works these days even though it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and easily could make a lot more sense if they tried...at all.

So, true, I don't know that we'd know if they're planning is unless the Sun spoils it, but it also doesn't feel like they are either because it feels like they don't have any legitimate ideas for them beyond just existing as plot devices for other people.

It's the same way I feel about the wedding.

Charity baby plot reveal to sarah and jacob is same as seb story. It's inevitable. It'll happen someday for sure but no idea when or how or if it'll be even worth the wait.

I mean I feel like the baby reveal is way more guaranteed to happen than Seb. Seb feels like a pipe dream at this point. I'm not convinced it'll ever happen and it will always be stupid if it doesn't. I mean I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't feel like there are any plans for it at the moment.

With the baby reveal, I still feel like that has to come out eventually. If only because I don't feel like Sarah and Jacob can find out about Dr Todd sexually assaulting Charity without eventually wanting to know why and how that happened. Then again, Vanessa accepted it. So who knows, they could just all decide to keep their mouths shut and Leyla's parentage is just the next slurry leak and self stabbing and we're all just meant to forget about it. Haha.

But I still feel like it's more likely than Seb.

You not minding Graham and Lewis in today’s episode, is this a ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ situation or did you take a chill pill?;)

Definitely the first. I mean I think I explained it in my post.

Paul wrote Graham (along with Kyle) to be giving Cain some home truths about his shitty behavior that I’m sick and tired of. Now if only Laura Shaw would let him have growth from any of these little mini plots.

And he wrote Lewis to be sarcastic Lewis, which is the best version of him, and he was very over Kev’s antics today, which was extremely relatable of him.

I have to take my enjoyment from this travesty of a show somewhere. Haha.

People with Coira usernames on twitter being completely over this Cain story, over Cain being a shitty father and over Moira being desperate for sex...

And this is the story that's gotten the most focus of anything the whole year.

And even their biggest fans are sick of it.

That's just really not a good sign Emmerdale...

Get it together.

I agree with everyone else’s thoughts I read about how it seems like they forgot the baby part of the baby story in all this

They can take this one step further and just never show Sarah, Jacob and Leyla again so the audience will forget they exist. So much for building the Sugdens 🤣. In all seriousness, I wonder what that was all about, how Sarah will embrace that side of her? Most of us thought she would seek support from Robert after the baby reveal but that prospect is getting foggy.

I feel like “reminding people that Sarah is a Sugden” was just code for: she will meet the new Sugden first and know her because she went to an extended Sugden family wedding as a child because she is in fact a Sugden.

And that’s probably it. Haha. Sigh.

Oh I forgot about the Gabby and Billy and Dawn stuff. Yeah…that certainly was there. Haha.

It’s not a surprise I forgot about it.

Dawn should have let him see the dress. This wedding is already cursed anyway.

Episode Thoughts…

Saw that it was a Paul episode after I watched it and yeah, that makes sense. The dialogue was actually good. Haha.

The stories still suck mind you but…

Moira and Rhona were full on having a very meta intimacy conversation that felt like all of us begging for robron to touch and that was very amusing to me.

Also just fun to have two characters talking and laughing. You know even the mention of just a laugh being something to keep her going is part of the meta robron conversation.

Now, do I care at all about Moira and Cain’s intimacy issues at this point or the fact that Cain is still narratively in the same place he started in months ago… not one bit because dear soap gods can he have some growth at some point in this story?

But hey, the scene was fun.

Also Paul made me enjoy Lewis and Graham today. A feat.

Graham and Kyle yelling at Cain with more meta commentary, excellent. Keep it up and maybe the producers will remember basic storytelling principles and let him have character development.

Love that they didn’t even show Cain’s fall. Haha. Budget cuts in action I guess. But also I feel like there was no way to explain how he ended up in that position under that random piece of fallen tree and rock.

Too bad John had to go and kill Kyle’s brother (and you know…the rest…but let’s be honest it was only killing Nate that condemned him because doing things to robron doesn’t matter) He would have loved to be on this camping trip. Haha

Lewis on the other hand…

Was doing mocking impressions of Kev and wishing he’d take that phone call so he could have a moment of peace and that was so relatable of him today. See, I don’t mind Lewis when he’s not just giggly and over excited. And I wouldn’t even mind those parts either if he wasn’t around Vinny also getting giggly and over excited and Kev because it just makes it worse and too much with all of them. I prefer sarcastic Lewis.

Anyway, the less said about actual Kev the better.

The Charity and Mack and Ross and Vanessa stuff sure was something.

I agree with everyone else’s thoughts I read about how it seems like they forgot the baby part of the baby story in all this. Which is certainly a choice. And one they keep making.

I guess it’s not time for that part but uhh…at some point it will be and Mack’s going to be just as culpable at this point as like Chas in not telling her. Or Serena. And will Ross finally get to have Leyla feelings by then?

Also will Mack ever get to have a friend scene with Aaron again? No? Okay. Sigh.

And we have Vanessa leading the charge to push things too far and announcing that Dr Todd has to pay some other kind of way. A likely place for her to be.

But anyway, thanks Paul for making this episode way more tolerable than it had any right to be considering the subject matter and the characters.
