He startles and slightly winces in apology as the young man shouts. Sure, being bumped into wasn’t the most fun thing in the world, but it was definitely an accident. Charmander growls again in response and Leon shushes him once more, reaching down to the pat the lizard on the head. “Hey, be nice. Told ya it was m’ fault, he’s got every right t’ be–”
But then he’s on a different subject and Leon’s head swims with the speed of change. Arceus, this kid reminds him of–
His whole demeanour changes and he straightens up, crossing his arms over his puffed out chest proudly. Someone recognized him! Sure, he loved introducing people to the wonders of Pokemon and the customs of Galar, but to have someone recognize you on their own? Leon’s fit to burst! “Why, yes it is!” In fact, he’s so excited, that–!!
Before he can stop himself, he spins around and strikes his famous Charizard pose. Something like this calls for a bit of a celebration, after all! “The pleasure is all mine,” he says, putting his hands on his hips and grinning from ear to ear. “I haven’t run inta anyone that’s recognized me,” ‘cept for Hop, “since I got ‘ere.” He examines the young man in front of him as he speaks; he doesn’t seem to be from Galar, and his clothes seem on the more… traditional side. Johto perhaps? Arceus, if he’s got fans in Johto, he’s really got it made!
Yeah, this has got to be Hop’s older brother. Not only does he look the spitting image of Hop, but he certainly has the... Uh... Energy that Hop had described him with. Takumi has no idea what to think of the weird pose he’s doing, however, and just kind of stands awkwardly as he watches. Is this a thing where Leon’s from...? He’s never seen Hop make this pose, so this could just be a Leon thing.
He’s certainly an excitable guy.
“Oh, right, Hop’s told me all about you,” he explains, “Good things, that is! He had nothing but glowing praise about you.” ... And many insecurities about him, as well, but he needn’t tell Leon about that. He doesn’t know how much Leon knows about Hop’s insecurities, but he certainly doesn’t want to start off with that.
“Never thought I’d be meeting his brother—” he holds out a hand for a handshake—”I’m Prince Takumi of Hoshido. Your brother is a friend of mine.”
