Setting up a round of mystery drinks, Travis poured a heavy dose of old beer with some strong white wine he managed to tangle up the night before on a hunt with Chris. “Man that look hard”, Watching the liquids fizzle into each other, he put the glass down and stuck another question mark sticker on the front.

Chris looked at his brothers creation, letting out a laugh as he poured a dark stout into a glass, “We gon do a couple mixes, and a couple straight, right?” He jutted his chin towards Travis as he placed the sticker onto the glass.

“You know how we do, jack a few and the rest is clear”, Twisting the lid back on a bottle of wine he put it back in one of the carton boxes. Chuckling in wicked humor, he shook his head at a few teenagers that glanced in their direction with hopeful expressions. “Hell no. Kids getting slick out here like we won’t ask fa ID. Nobody was born yesterday lil fella, carry on.”

“They boutta be so confused.” He shrugged, licking the corner of his lip, making a different mix. He was ready to see some peoples facial expressions, for them to get a little sauced, all that. Looking over at the kids, he shook his head, a smirk curving. “Ain’t they legal to drink out here cause it’s a foreign country or sumn?”

“That’s what I heard too, don’t French kids get to have a glass of wine after every meal? Only thing is these kids ain’t from here, they from back home wit us”, He realized in light consideration, then took out a keychain he bought from the hotel gift shop. “What you think of this one? Got the president stamped on the front and one of his coins too. I thought I might a bring a lil sumthin for the boys at the shop.” Toiling the piece around from finger to finger, he hardly realized a few guests began walking over to try out their mixes. “Oh my bad. The rules are simple as you can see, just a 2 second sip of either cup you wanna guess. And tell us if it’s new or old. That one’s a beer miss”, He pointed out the dark brown concoction the tall, round faced woman reached for.

Looking over at the souvenir Travis had got, he liked it, a smile curving, “Them niggas gon like the lil trinket, attach it to their chain and be like ‘boss thought about us’ they gon be appreciative of it, forreal.” He said honestly, patting his brothers shoulder, soon looking over at the guests as Travis had gave them instructions of the game. Chris watched as the woman’s facial expressions changed, tasting the beer. He tried to hold back a laugh. “Smooth, right?”

“Well man I’m ready to go when you are, I got some water and that good shit here too”, Travis nodded to the driver about a few inches away from him. From where he sat, the river they were going to didn’t seem that far from the hotel. He tried to memorize as many routes back as possible in order to avoid the possibility of getting lost on the way back. The old, grey-haired man patted his lightly trimmed moustache and cleared his throat gruffly while checking for other passengers.

Throwing away the wrapper at the nearest trash bin, Chris bit into the French pastry and saw the boat waiting. He noticed his brother in the boat already, and decided to sit across from him, “Hello sir, apologies on the wait.” Chris got into the boat, sitting down on the hard seat. The man spoke in his heavy accent, saying no worries, a few other passengers arriving. It was a small ass boat, “You know what we doin after this, Trav?” Chris directed his attention on his twin, leaning back a bit, making himself comfortable.

Stretching his feet out in front of him in time before more passengers began boarding. He breathed a deep sigh of satisfaction, knowing he would be cramped up for the next 40 minutes or so. “Late lunch prolly? The last thing I had was that big ass breakfast”, He assumed, licking his lips at the fried chocolate macaroons served before leaving. “How did your fitting go? My fit was 2 sizes bigger than me, had the sleeves bout to choke me up,” Chuckling loud.

He chuckled small as he saw his brother stretch out his legs, they were probably the tallest people on this boat so comfortability was limited. “Shit, I hope so. An appetite gon build up on this ride.” He lifted his shoulders, scooting over a bit as a little woman sat next to him. “It was aight, they gotta adjust the tux jacket and collar area fa the shirt. Shit was too small, ion know how that happened.” He chuckled a bit, shaking his head, “At least we wasn’t the only one wit problems. Kareem almost cursed out the guy, Jer had to take him fa a walk.” He swiped his hand down his face at earlier today’s events.

Travis’ eyes grew mildly larger at the news of what happened prior to his fitting, he took a polaroid camera from the boat guide but eventually tuned out of what he had begun describing. “I’m tryna hit up a gift shop after this ride though, saw a boutique or something like that 3 blocks away. You coming?” He suggested, there was no way he planned on leaving this city without some souvenirs to take back home. “How they messed that up? We almost the same size and they shrunk yo suit? It’s these Frenchy ass tailors, what we call 8 is probably a 4 to them.” Shaking his head, he made a mental reminder to check on his brother and make sure he was good. “Fuck happened to Kareem suit? He usually level headed most of the time up until na.”
