Important message from the Admin!
Hello, everyone! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? I hope everyone who is still following this blog is doing great. :)
As you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t updated this blog in quite a long time, and if you follow my personal Tumblr, you’ll notice much of the same in terms of inactivity. Needless to say, a lot has been going on in RL for me. Some of it is personal, a lot of it is work-related -- life in all its manifold messiness, you know?
Still, it means that it has become much harder for me to manage this Tumblr and keep up with fandom, or browse Tumblr in general, in my free time like I used to. Every time I think I’m ready to dive back in, RL drags me away again. At this point, the absence and inactivity really has become untenable.
For these reasons, I will officially cease updating FyeahAmechu. I’ve thought long and hard about this. It is a tough decision to make -- I’ve run this blog for years now -- but realistically, I simply can’t devote the time and energy needed to be the admin this blog deserves right now or in the near future.
So what does this mean for the future of the blog?
For one thing, though I will no longer be updating, I will not delete the blog. That way, if you love the content of this blog but haven’t reblogged anything to your own Tumblr, you can still find everything here if you need it. If someone is willing to take over as the admin and is serious about keeping up the blog, I’m open to transferring the blog’s ownership. (Send a message through the “Ask” function if interested.)
I’d like to think that this blog has been a place for folks who love Amechu, or who are at least curious about the pairing, to come together and enjoy some quality fic, art, and headcanons. Amechu is a tiny ship in a large sea in a fandom that still hasn’t let go of some of us regardless of how many years have gone by. It’s also a ship that I’ve found has an amazingly supportive and creative community behind it.
We’ve managed to contain multitudes with much joy and little drama. I’m proud that this blog had some part in that. And for that, it is all of you who deserve all the credit.
I hope to get back to doing what I can and begin contributing again. I’ve got three WIPs almost finished for Amechuweek 2018 and fingers crossed I can transfer everything from paper to electronic paper in time. And then there’s finishing up some other WIPs that have been stagnating in Google Docs... In the meantime, this is me, signing off. Again, thank you for everything.
