Sydney jokingly rolled her eyes as he told her there was no ring. "I mean, I might just have to take back my confession now.." She continued to tease with a laugh. The dynamic between them had always been playful, and that wouldn't change in the midst of a serious conversation. They could be serious when the moment called for it, but the banter always had a way of seeping through.
"You guys were together for awhile. Were you.." She paused, wondering if this was an appropriate question, but given the honesty of their conversation, Syd decided to go ahead and ask. "..Were you thinking about proposing before we started filming?" It was the natural next step in a relationship and she knew Glen was a traditional guy. He was a family man, and seemed to be into the idea of marriage and kids. Especially kids. There was no better uncle on this planet than the actor. His nieces and nephews adore him.
In just a matter of minutes, their whole dynamic had changed. There was no taking back their feelings, not that Sydney would want to. It made her feel nervous and giddy all at once. Her head nodded as she carefully listened to Glen speak. Her eyes fluttered shut just for a moment as she felt his touch. She gently leaned into it, her blue eyes meeting his once more. A smile spread across her lips as he mentioned kissing her. "I think we can take things slow and still go makeout," She grinned. "I agree, though. Taking things slow without putting pressure on it sounds like the best route. At least we have the time and privacy to navigate all of this, since the world thinks I'm still with Jonathan. I'd say I don't want anyone painting either of us as cheaters or homewreckers, but it's a little too late for that.." Under the table, she placed a hand on his knee. "It's taking everything in me not to kiss you right now. How about we get the check and go up to my hotel room?" She suggested, eyebrows raised. "I promise to be on my best behavior," An innocent smile graced her features, hinting back at his mention of taking things slow. The blonde just wanted some alone time with him without worrying about who was watching.
Glen chuckled at Sydney's playful threat to retract her confession, shaking his head in amusement. "Oh, come on, you wouldn't do that to me, would you?" he teased, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. Despite the weight of their conversation, their easy banter was a welcome reprieve, reminding him of the lightheartedness they shared. "Should I leave you here and go buy a ring instead? I don't know, I feel like you really want it." he laughed, licking his lips. Her question about his potential proposal caught him off guard, and he couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia for the life he had envisioned with Gigi before everything changed. "Yeah, I… I was," he admitted, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "We had talked about it, you know? We both wanted the same things – a family, a future together. But I guess things don't always turn out the way you expect," he said with a wistful smile, trying to push aside the memories of what could have been. "But honestly, it was for the best, I wouldn't be happy with her anyway."
But as Sydney leaned into his touch and met his gaze with a smile, Glen felt a surge of warmth spread through him. Her suggestion of taking things slow while still indulging in a bit of spontaneity made him grin, the butterflies in his stomach fluttering with excitement. "I like the way you think," he said with a chuckle, his heart racing at the prospect of spending some alone time with her. Her hand on his knee sent a jolt of electricity through him, and he couldn't help but lean in closer, the desire to kiss her almost overwhelming. "Sounds like a plan," Glen agreed, his voice low as he met her gaze with a mixture of longing and anticipation. "Let's get out of here."
With a shared grin, they flagged down the server to settle their bill before making their way to Sydney's hotel room, the anticipation of what lay ahead sending a thrill down Glen's spine. As they stepped into the elevator, he couldn't help but steal a glance at Sydney, feeling a surge of gratitude for the unexpected turn their friendship had taken. "You know what…" He whispered, looking at her and grabbing her hands, placing them around him as he licked his lips and looked into her eyes. "This is taking way too long." Touching his forehead on hers, he kissed her eagerly, pulling her leg over his thigh.
