Check out Marc’s special design helmet for Honda's home Grand Prix!
"Today we struggled a bit compared to other circuits. We have not quite found the right setup yet, but thankfully it’s still only Friday and we have many practice sessions ahead and things to try out. The important thing is that I felt pretty good and, despite not being totally happy with the setup of the bike, we are not so far from the top. Let's see if we can continue in this way, improving over the course of the weekend."
Tough start to the weekend for Marc in Japan!
#NinjaTurtle: You just know he took the mask home for sexting. (x)
"Since a young age, Marc Marquez always followed his dreams.. The first, to become MotoGP World Champion.. And the other?
To become the 5th Ninja Turtle!"
#MM93TitleChance
This weekend is the first chance to win the championship and I’m happy because there are still four races to go so that’s good for me. We will try to approach it like a normal race and push to be in the first positions. It is nice to have the chance at the home round for Honda, but I’m not nervous because my target is to win the championship and it doesn’t matter when.
Marc Marquez, 2014 Japanese GP
75 points ahead in the standings with just 4 races remaining, all Marc has to do this weekend in Motegi in order to seal the 2014 MotoGP Championship is win the race.
So, the big question surrounding this weekend's Japanese GP.. Can he actually do it? The pressure is on? Marc reassured fans during today's press conference that he will treat it just like any other race; however he did admit it would be nice to win it on Honda's home soil!
Tune in for (MotoGP) FP1 at 01:55 (GMT +1)
From my rivals I try to learn everything I can. See how to ride, their lines, what they do and why they do it. From here, I’ll try to take the positives and learn.
Marc Marquez
It is clear that I have the same ambition as before, but I must be aware that in MotoGP there are the best riders in the world and that this bike is very different from what have ridden so far, and very difficult to fully understand.
Marc Marquez
In the end I think Jorge, Dani and Valentino are on another level right now, and it's not my battle. My battle is with the bike, learning, knowing the reactions, gaining experience, accumulating miles, and from there the results will gradually come.
Marc Marquez
“It is an honour to be one of the winners in this Gala Mundo Deportivo. Although the important thing is to enjoy myself on the bike, these awards also a bit of a reward for all the work done.”
Marc was honored for his impressive 2012 season this week at Mundo Deportivo's annual Night of Champions. He recieved the 'International sportsman' award, following a productive 3-day test at Sepang, in which he consistantly lapped within the top 3, proving he has what it's take to compete with the 'MotoGP aliens' in 2013.
Many congratulations to Marc, a very deserving winner!
Getting to know my new team..
On-track footage and interviews with team Repsol Honda following the MotoGP test at Sepang this week
Both riders have been working hard this week and we are very happy. For Dani, he is happy with some test items and not with others but this is normal for the winter test. Marc hasn’t been testing so many things as the primary purpose of this test for him is to familiarise himself with the MotoGP machine, which is more important.
Shuhei Nakamoto (HRC Executive Vice-President)
Primeros tests finalizados y primera caída con la MotoGP sin consecuencias. Mirad como me ha quedado el mono!!
