The SEED Center

Hey there Folks!

As the day of departure creeps closer the route is becoming more and more important. I can feel the anticipation, radiating from my soul. As I cannot disclose all of the exact stops at this juncture..... I can at least tell you the states we are looking at!

......... I feel like that just wasn't enough...... Alright I will tell you about one of our potential stops! It's called "SEED Center (sustainable education and enterprise development)." This is how it was described to me by the director of the Center: "Its a 12 acre homestead off grid permaculture site with solar, wind and rain water catchment. We have a large barn house made of straw bales and clay plaster that can house 10 or more, a Tiny house made of Cobb and a tiny bunk house with solar panel. We have a large campsite space and out door shower and compost toilet. I'm currently working on building the site up for future interns/woofers/or volunteers and could really use your guys help. I know it's one state east of your route but I would love to host you and show you our progressive university and little Meditation and spiritual community. We have many sustainable projects around town."

At first we thought, Iowa..... well it is just too far. But then the YOUniverse kept pushing us in that direction! They offered to teach us invaluable lessons and maybe even provide us with some much needed, BIODIESEL!

They work with an University based on sustainability and spirituality.

They have a cafeteria that is all organic, vegetarian. An area where they make biodiesel. And a huge greenhouse! EEEeeek!

What will we be doing there?

In his words these are our options: "Cob plaster, tree planting. Outdoor cob oven/bench. Music/art. Herb spirals. Fairy garden. Help set up for goats. We have high quality micro organism compost building or making compost tea. We can put on workshops for you to share to help raise funds for your trip. Really open field"

This is just the tip of the iceberg there are so many communities I want to tell you all about!!!! But I will leave that up to Kik. A little birdie told me he will be posting a "forum" section to the website, that only members will see. So register on this site and keep an eye out for his post!!!
