Hob who starts wearing all black, all the time after Morpheus’s death...

Pre-retirement, Dream's body did what he wanted it to. So Dream is pretty disappointed that, unlike before, he now needs to take certain preparations before getting to be with Hob.

Hob doesn't understand the disappointment because Dream has been using his fingers and oils on Hob for centuries now, doing the same to Dream is the furthest thing from a problem.

Aww yes this is actually so sweet because Dream would definitely worry about being "inconvenient" for Hob. And Hob is just staring at him in complete bafflement because why?? would touching and kissing and massaging and generally perving on his lover be an inconvenience?? It's like the best part??

But Dream is still kind of hung up on certain things (it's mainly douching, he has a strong desire to be clean but lowkey hates the process, can only really stand it if Hob helps him). And it's quite hard to navigate in the beginning. Like many things about being human. But Dream learns, slowly, to adapt.

And guess what, he's now a total menace for fingering, loves it so much when Hob works him up digit by digit. He learns to be quite the princess, face buried in a pillow and ass in the air while Hob makes him lose his mind over and over! Hob is, of course, very proud and smug about it.

Clingy Hob who gets even clingier after Dream almost gets murdered (a la the events of season 2). Just Hob following Dream around, holding his hand, sitting closer than necessary...

you know how a 1 year old will interact with a younger baby anc everyone will be like "aw, a baby with a baby!" and then the 1 year old will insist they're not, in fact, a baby?

anyways, crack AU where Dream meets up with Hob in 1489 and has this realization because genuinely, to the vast majority of other immortals, Hob is in fact a baby

and this triggers his parental instincts.

(i think Orpheus and Eurydice would've had to have lived and everything after would've helped snap Dream out of Being A Dick™ (or at least as much as one) so one day he just comes home with Hob like "here's your new brother, get along" and Does Not Explain)

Wait, is this Dream with Hob, Orpheus and Eurydice. I think it literally is.

And I DO think it's hilarious that Dream’s son is several thousand years older than Hob. So although Hob looks older, he's absolutely the baby 100%. Which means he gets spoiled and bullied in equal measure, hehe.
