Dream appearing in Hob’s subconscious before he goes off to Hell to retrieve Nada: you are my friend. and to some extent my wife.

One important thing they tell you about being a writer is that there will be days, weeks, months, maybe even more, where you just have nothing to say. Just nothing at all. And I don't know what happens after that. But I do know that it doesn't last forever.

The one thing men in the 1700s did right was have long hair they tie back into a low ponytail with a little ribbon and also have a few stray strands at the front. Almost everything else they did that century was inexcusable though

Dream and Hob are in the same company or whatever. They go with the rest of their colleagues for a company retreat, which is in a beautiful villa, on a beautiful beach. It's a mixed gender (omegaverse) villa, there are some alpha spaces and some omega spaces but all the genders can be in the same place without being segregated! The main omega space is a circular, depressed area in the middle of the living room, filled with cushions and pillows. It's lower than the rest of the living room floor so it feels really cozy. Immediately the omegas run in and throw themselves down, snuggling together and laughing. They giggle as they put up a no alphas! sign on a piece of cardboard, the circular space is like their version of a fort or burrow! The alphas are left outside the omega burrow and their social space is just the normal space with tables and chairs. Boring.

The company retreat goes well, the activities on the beach are fun and healthful, and the food is delicious. Finally it's the end of the day and everyone goes back to the villa. The omegas pile back into the burrow, laughing and suntanned. The alphas trail after the omegas, secretly hoping for some nighttime fun - they are on a retreat after all! But the omegas jump into the burrow together and erect their no alphas sign again, laughing and giggling. The alphas are left in the edge of the circle to try and lure an omega of two out. They use sweet words, treats, offers of favours like massages. It is kind of like a tradition/cultural wooing practice in that society. I imagine Hob snuggling with a few close friends in the middle of the circle, his hair coming out of his hair tie in stray strands, he is lying down with his feet are propped up against the side of the burrow and he looks so cute upside down and squished with his friends. He's determined NOT to leave his friends for the handsome alpha who has been prowling outside the circle for the better part of an hour, and especially because he doesn't want to be the first omega to break and leave with an alpha. But he can't help blushing and squirming whenever Dream comes to his part of the circle!

Dream is one of the most eligible alphas in the company, he knows it. The only other one who could give him a run for his money is the Corinthian. But the Corinthian has a loud, pushy streak and his method tonight is to play hard to get, so he's drinking with a couple of fellows and paying the omega circle no attention. Dream is much more focused and patient. He has been circling watchfully for awhile now, hoping to get the omegas used to his proximity. He already has a beautiful room upstairs prepared. He has yet to make his move, but he's hopeful he'll be successful. He is very much hoping to woo that cute, cheerful omega away from his tight little group of friends!

It's like their big communal nest. Omegas are very social, generally thriving on physical contact and scenting. This is perfect for their mental and physical health, they find it super cozy but also stimulating to be together! Hob is having such a lovely time with his friends, he feels so relaxed, so excited to smell new things... and curious about that handsome dark haired alpha who quietly moves closer to the big nest, offering useful little tributes to the omegas such as fleece blankets and water bottles. He doesn't say anything or try to force his way in, just stays within scenting distance and bides his time.

Eventually all the omegas exchange looks with each other and make a group decision: they basically lift Hob up out of the pit. Not kicking him out, just. Encouraging him! Hob makes a tiny effort to struggle and then allows himself to basically be given to Dream, lol. He's shy at first but Dream is very courteous and a perfect gentleman, getting him a drink and a snack first, complimenting him. Hob is soon laughing and chatting to Dream just as he was with his omega friends. And this little success encourages the other omegas to get curious about the alphas, leading to a few more pairing off too...

Meanwhile Dream leads Hob up to the lovely bedroom which has a canopied bed, silken sheets and soft lights strung around the room. Hob is throughly wooed, immediately sprawling on the gorgeous bed and inviting Dream to join him! He had so much fun with his omega friends but he figures he'll have a lot of fun with Dream too... he can't wait to gossip about it later! Maybe this retreat will be the start of something special for Hob, and he'll tell this story for many years to come!

Pre-retirement, Dream's body did what he wanted it to. So Dream is pretty disappointed that, unlike before, he now needs to take certain preparations before getting to be with Hob.

Hob doesn't understand the disappointment because Dream has been using his fingers and oils on Hob for centuries now, doing the same to Dream is the furthest thing from a problem.

Aww yes this is actually so sweet because Dream would definitely worry about being "inconvenient" for Hob. And Hob is just staring at him in complete bafflement because why?? would touching and kissing and massaging and generally perving on his lover be an inconvenience?? It's like the best part??

But Dream is still kind of hung up on certain things (it's mainly douching, he has a strong desire to be clean but lowkey hates the process, can only really stand it if Hob helps him). And it's quite hard to navigate in the beginning. Like many things about being human. But Dream learns, slowly, to adapt.

And guess what, he's now a total menace for fingering, loves it so much when Hob works him up digit by digit. He learns to be quite the princess, face buried in a pillow and ass in the air while Hob makes him lose his mind over and over! Hob is, of course, very proud and smug about it.
