I'm starting to work on day 7 of kinktober. And I am *so excited*. Not sure where to go with this, but modern au in which Hob Gadling and his son Robin share a sense of humor, a lack of shame, and an interest in sex, but Robin is into older men, while Hob prefers his partners younger. They both find it funny to invite new friends and acquaintances over and watch the other one seduce them into a one-night stand.

The actual sex takes place in their respective bedrooms, but as part of the game they’re playing, the seduction has to happen in front of each other; part of the point is the guest’s embarrassment at being so turned on by the father/son of their host.

Hob likes to do lingering touches, that linger longer and wander further towards less innocent places as time goes on. His ultimate goal is to get a hand under the guest’s clothes, after which he’ll find an excuse to lead them upstairs. In the meantime he enjoys their squirming in embarrassment and arousal, as well as their frequent glances towards Robin to make sure his son can’t tell what’s happening (which of course he can, but he does his best to hide his amusement for their sake, so as to not ruin his father’s turn at their game).

One time their guest was so flustered and aroused that when Hob managed to slip his hand down their pants and squeeze their ass a little they very clearly came on the spot. Robin did his best to hold in his laughter while his father shamelessly claimed that something must have spilled on their pants, he’d be happy to take them upstairs and help them with that, it’d be a shame if it stained. The guest was so eager to agree and all but drag Hob up the stairs that Robin couldn’t take it anymore and burst out laughing as soon as they were out of sight.

For Robin’s turn at the game, he prefers to completely invade personal spaces, standing or sitting just a little too close, and gradually move closer until he’s fully pressed up against them. He is determined to ultimately end up in their lap, while underneath their arousal they become increasingly amazed at his father’s obliviousness to his son’s wanton behavior (obviously he’s fully aware, and mentally sniggering at Robin’s ability to distract his guest from the conversation). He doesn’t really bother with an excuse once he’s ready, just simply waits for his father to turn his back or leave the room for long enough that he can pull the guest upstairs to his room.

There was one time he didn’t even make it that far. Hob had briefly left the room for a genuine reason; it was still a little early for him to be offering his son a window of opportunity, and he wasn’t even gone that long. When he returned the two had clearly forgotten his existence, as they were furiously making out on the couch as Robin was straddling the guest’s lap. Hob had considered interrupting and just openly telling them to take it upstairs, but ultimately decided to just leave them to it, and make his own escape to his room with a quiet snort of amusement just before the clothes started flying.

He did tell Robin the next day to clean and disinfect the couch, and to remind him to be more mindful next time about moving it to his room before things got to that point. Robin did agree to the former, as it was his mess after all, but in response to the latter simply gave Hob a look and reminded him of the coming-in-pants night.

Then one day, Roderick Burgess shows up and sees Dream as she’s walking with Hob, and very loudly calls out for “Mr. Endless”.

Dream freezes, goes alarmingly pale, starts stammering about “it’s Miss Endl- I mean, it’s Dr. Endless, I-“ while Burgess talks over her about how he remembers “””him””” from when “””he””” was a student in one of Burgess’ classes and he’s stunned they let someone like “””him””” around students.

Hob will cheerfully admit to not being the brightest bulb in the box despite being a professor, but he understands immediately what is happening. Dream is trans, and this fucking asshole just outed her in front of a complete stranger.

Needless to say, Hob breaks his nose.

It’s a whole thing with security, but luckily every witness (Lucienne, Matthew, Jessamy, etc) is a full ally and they all insist that actually Burgess started it and Hob was merely acting in self-defense, so Hob is in the clear while Burgess gets banned from campus.

Dream ran off just before Hob laid Burgess out flat, and once everything gets cleared up he immediately goes to find her. She’s barricaded in her office, and while Hob tries to check on her she starts talking through the door, clearly crying, explaining that she didn’t mean to “””deceive””” Hob with her flirting, and please don’t be mad at her, she’ll just quit or transfer somewhere or-

Hob gently cuts her off, lets her know she has nothing to be afraid of. He’s so sorry she didn’t get to tell him herself, but it doesn’t change anything. She’s still wildly out of his league and he’s still head over heels. Dream hesitantly cracks the door open, tear streaked and sniffling, and asks if Hob means it. Hob continues reassuring her, filter fully gone as he admits to how he’s been trying and failing to work up the courage to ask her out.

Dream giggles, and admits that she wanted to ask him out too, but was scared of telling him she was trans. Hob smiles, strokes her cheek, and asks if he can kiss her. Things progress… rapidly from there, lol.

Needles to say, they become official before the first date even happens. 💕

Just saw the bratty Hob ask and I raise you (because I'm nothing if not a projector), a Hob who wants to be Bratty, but the moment he does literally anything that could classify, no matter how small, he's swamped with guilt and begs for forgiveness.

He simply cannot be bratty, it's simply not in him. Even accidentally fucking up makes his heart hurt. It's partially insecurity, if he fucks up, what if Dream leaves him again? (1889 trauma!!!) Hob, quite simply, is the opposite of a brat.
