GABRIELLA ALVAREZ. "And it gets you down but that's okay, you've been pushed 'round, you feel the pain, and when you fall just lean on me 'cause you've never known, never seen, never smelt, never felt the rain" 30. Daughter & sister. Bisexual & single. Seabrook Quarter. Bartender at the Oasis Night Club.
Imani was on bottle service tonight at the club, which was her favorite. She had gotten herself all dolled up and cute, wearing her lime green booty shorts with blue pockets. Her top was simply a bikini top she found at a thrift store that made the babies sit nicely. "OH!" She smiled as she ran in seeing Gabriella at the bar. "I was so hoping you'd be working! We are gonna make some fucking tips tonight, Right? Im manifesting it for both of us! I got my hoochie shorts on."
"Hey, Imani," As soon as Gabriella heard the excited OH in the distance, she knew precisely who was approaching. She always appreciated Imani's high energy and hardworking nature, and with the two of them working side-by-side, the nightclub bartender knew they would have a great night ahead of them.
"I'm glad to see you're working tonight too," Gabriella pointed out, "and hell yeah we're going to be raking in all the tips." She said with a laugh and a giant smile painted on her features. When the other pointed out her fit for the evening, she wasted no time checking out her coworker. "Your hoochie shorts look great, your bikini top looks fantastic, and I'm always obsessed with your hair and make-up. What kind of shoes do you have on?"
Gabriella was popped up onto a bar stool with her phone in one hand and a glass of water in the other. At the moment, she wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings until the bartender working slid a small tequila shot in her direction. She quickly let them know she didn't order the drink, and soon enough, she learned that someone in the bar bought that for her. In a matter of moments, the nightclub bartender searched for someone who would be willing to take the shot of free liquor.
"Excuse me," Gabriella made her presence known to the woman sitting next to her, "Someone bought me this tequila shot without knowing I don't drink alcohol. Would you like to have it?" She offered with a kind smile. "If not, I'll have the bartender send it back."
"i wasn't meant to exist amongst gen z," beck sighed heavily, picking the label off the amber bottle. she couldn't remember if this was drink two or three--which sounded bad but really her mind had just been other places. specifically her fifth period class, where a student had an entire conversation using language she had never heard before--and she couldn't for the life of her figure it out.
so she sought comfort in her favorite bar: the reef. the last few days had been nothing short of traumatic, and it baffled her how quickly her students went on with their lives. she considered it a survival skill--something she felt uniquely equipped to notice--and in a weird way she was proud. nevertheless, her students had make her feel old and at 32 that felt like a crime against humanity.
"can anyone please explain to me what an e-girl is? like i know its definitely not the same as email, but....oh dear god, i sounded ancient in that moment--i'm turning into my parents every passing second."
Gabriella didn't drink alcohol and has never felt the temptation to, but damn, did she love going to bars. She sat on a bar stool in The Reef with a large glass of lemonade before her and cell phone in hand. Minding her own business, her ears listened into conversations around her, and the quote "I wasn't meant to exist amongst gen z" made her grin. The next question coming from the same voice made her ears perk up.
"I don't think you sounded ancient one bit," Gabriella reassured the woman before continuing, "if you asked what TikTok was, then my answer would have been different." She repositioned herself on the stool to face the other better with a kind grin spread across her lips. "From what I know from TikTok, an e-girl is someone who has an online persona with a large following. I'm pretty sure they play video games and are on Twitch." The bartender turned bar patron this evening informed her before taking a sip of her drink. "I'm only thirty and I have no idea what bussin' or NPC really means. Do you know?"
Elijah was up all night during the storm. He wasn't able to sleep. Granted the apartments didn't get hit like Aurora Bay Drive did, it still kept him up. Hearing that it was a calm morning after said disaster, he knew he couldn't just sleep in. He had to help people as best as he could. Without anymore hesitation, Elijah got up out of his bed, simply putting a button up on and staying in his shorts, grabbing his phone and his baseball cap and put it on his head.
Soon he was walking out of the building, checking on anyone he came across before stepping through the entrance. His eyes instantly looked around to see if there was any major damage to the buildings- luckily there wasn't. What he didn't know.. that was a different story on Aurora Bay Drive. He unlocked his phone that was one ten percent, checking to see if phone service was active.. only to see no signal whatsoever. "Fuck.." he muttered under his breath, putting his phone in his pocket. Elijah rubbed his eyes a bit, the sunlight hurting his head because he was so tired, but he started to walk away from the building, not getting too far, for he bumped into someone, him gasping a bit before looking at them. "Shit. Sorry. You're okay right?"
After the storm had run through its disastrous course throughout the town, Gabriella took no time to escape her safe apartment and check in on the people she cared for. This sunny morning, she was on her way to Ocean Crest Apartments. The large complexes were in her sight and she approached like she was on a mission. The bartender's eyes were glued to the damage around her, but before she knew it, her eyes moved down toward her cell phone with no service, and ended up running into someone.
"Fuck," the swear word rolled off her tongue with ease, "I'm so sorry." Gabriella quickly apologized once her eyes landed on the man before her. Taking in his kind question, she offered him a reassuring nod and a small grin. "Yeah, I'm fine, just feeling stupid for not watching where I was going. Are you alright?" She asked before realizing how close she was to her destination. "Are you heading in or out?"
Mal woke up to a gloomy morning, the kind of morning that usually set her mood for the day. But today was different. Yesterday, the storm hit Aurora Bay harder than anyone expected, and the effects were still being felt a day later. Mal checked her phone, hoping to see some updates or messages, but she knew deep down that the phone lines were still cut off. She sighed and got out of bed, feeling the cool air hit her skin as she walked around her dark apartment. The power was still out, and she knew that her food would soon spoil if the electricity didn't come back soon.
Despite all of this, Mal knew that there were others in town who had it worse. She decided to check up on some of her neighbors and friends, to make sure that they were okay. As she walked through the streets, she saw the aftermath of the storm: fallen branches, debris, and even some uprooted trees. But more importantly, she saw people helping each other out, clearing the streets, and checking up on their neighbors.
Mal felt a sense of pride for her town and its people. Despite the chaos and destruction, there was a sense of community that she had never seen before. As she checked up on her friends, she realized that they were all safe, but some of them had suffered damages to their homes.
Mal knew that it was going to take time for Aurora Bay to recover from the storm, but she was glad that the people were coming together to support each other. She knew that she had a role to play, even if it was just checking up on her friends, and she was grateful for that.
As Mal continued walking down the street, she suddenly bumped into a random person. "Excuse me," she said, before realizing that it was someone she had never seen before. "Are you doing ok?" she asked the stranger.
Gabriella grew up in Aurora Bay and believed nothing drastic would happen to the town. The event was something she couldn't imagine and after moving back three months ago, disbelief ran through her system like no other. Ocean Crest Apartments were homes to people she cared for and the bartender was on her way to check in on them. As she did, she accidentally ran into someone.
"Shit," the swear word rolled off Gabi's tongue easily, "I'm so sorry." She apologized before the other asked a kind question. "I'm doing as good as can be. Was totally lost in thought before running into you. How are you doing?"

BIOGRAPHY SUMMARY.
Trigger warnings: alcohol abuse & mentions of drugs
Born and raised in Aurora Bay, Gabriella grew up in an unstable household with an alcoholic mother, an absent father, and two younger siblings, one boy and one girl.
Growing up, Gabi was adventurous and tame all in one. She loved to play outside with her neighbors and loved to stay in and spend time with her siblings. When staying inside and away from her mother, she was seen by her siblings' sides.
Her rebellious phase didn’t start until she witnessed her family’s demise. When her mother was too drunk to function, she was left nights with her stomach empty and needed to do something about it. Before going to high school, she’d go to the town center and beg for money. After getting enough to decrease the hunger pain, she would buy her and her siblings whatever food came from the nearest fast food restaurant. This went on until she got her first job as a busgirl at one of her favorite restaurants.
Helping her siblings make do at home, she spent her unsaved money on groceries and bills for the house. She matured through this and dedicated herself to taking care of her siblings.
If she wasn’t in class at school, she was seen lurking around campus trying to make friends. The extrovert in her sprung most when it came to the wrong crowds. She’d smoke with the stoners and hang out with the partiers. She was introduced to sex and drugs early on, but when it came to alcohol, the thought of her mother made her back away. She wanted to be nothing like her and not drinking is a good way to start.
Gabi ended up not graduating high school, but nonetheless, she stayed in Aurora Bay until her youngest sibling graduated high school. When that time came, she was 22 years old and moved all the way to New York City, New York.
After years of working as a busgirl and hostess, she became a waitress quickly and was promoted after half a year. Moving behind the bar of restaurants, her reputation started to increase and her name was shown on restaurant magazines around the west coast. Making bank, she made sure to send extra money to her siblings when she could.
When she had time off, she FaceTimed her siblings, hung out with new friends, and partied a lot at clubs. She didn’t need alcohol to have a good time.
30 years old and still growing, Gabi was living her life. She lived in a stable apartment, made a few good friends, made a lot of money, and loved her profession. Loving the big city, she couldn’t help but miss her siblings. Packing her things, she moved back to Aurora Bay in January of 2023.
Reconnecting with her siblings, she bought herself a nice apartment in Seabrook Quarter and started working as a bartender at the Oasis Night Club.
