the perfect fit

﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌

When I was younger I would listen through the walls, 

to all those conversations shared between my parents.

Conversations that became arguments,

arguments that became separation.

Separation.

it's a funny word, 

One that makes your heart twist and your stomach turn when the though of it creeps into your mind.

a word I didn't care too much for until I heard my mother say,

"we're not meant to be alone" to my father.

at the time I couldn't understand what her words,

unable to comprehend the weight of them.

but soon I came face to face with the realization, 

Humans are made for each other,

our bodies designed to hold one another.

one's face can fit perfectly into the crook of another neck

one waist can easily slip into their lover's hands,

and how when in close proximity we create warmth,

from both within our bodies and our hearts.

I think about how our arms link together,

and how our fingers can easily intertwine.

I think about how when embraced by one another,

our bodies fit into a perfect mold

it's almost like the heavens above knew what they were doing,

it's almost as if we were designed to not have the ability to live without each other, 

humans made with empty spaces meant for others to fill,

spaces for others to fit perfectly into.
