GALLIM DANCE KICKSTARTER 2014
We are raising $5,000 over the next 30 days to realize Gallim Dance's first ever site-specific work, eight by eight, an unprecedented commission for and collaboration with the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. eight by eight is set to premiere October 9th as part of TargetÂŽ Free Thursdays, with an encore performance on October 10th.Â
 about eight by eight
The David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center chose Gallim Dance to collaborate in their most ambitious commission to date. 2014 Guggenheim Fellow and Choreographer Andrea Miller will bring the public space in contact with the gravitational and intimate behavior of two people constrained to an 8 ft. x 8 ft. cube. Â Miller will also collaborate with a video and projection artist to recreate the captured story of these two people inside the cube. The projections and the performers will be framed in harmony and conflict with the architecture of the Atrium.
how you can help make eight by eight a realityÂ
Because this installation is free and open to the public, your support is critical to its creation and performance. By making a donation at any level, you will help Gallim and all of our collaborators to:
Build the cube, a focal point in the space, able to fit and withstand the impact of two people.
Create video and projection, framed by the architecture of the atrium. This media collaboration exposes elements of the narrative of the duet.
Make it possible for Gallim Dance to bring the work to more non-traditional venues, further fulfilling our mission to bring dance to diverse audiences around the world.
eight by eight will only be funded if at least $5,000 is pledged by Wednesday, September 24th, 3:00pm EDT.
We thank you in advance for your investment and support. We can't wait to see you at the World Premiere ofeight by eight on October 9th and 10th, 2014.
MAKE A PLEDGE TODAY!Â
