I can't remember if I posted the original sketch for this or not. Anyway, the discord convinced me to finish it, but I dunno. At some point I just got tired of looking at it, and it ended up like this.

Various Date Everything Sketches/Scraps

Notes under the cut

1-2) "Object Head Dishy". Just a "what if" Dishy was an object head like Sinclaire or Doug. I'm not loving the outfit, so I might try some other variations of it.

3-4) "Femme Dishy x Sinclaire Comic". Something I sketched a while ago but never finished. I dunno why I did it in the irasutoya style, but it's kinda cute.

5-6) "I've been spending my time reading the classics." A redraw of this image:

Just cus I can. The book he's reading is Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle". I kinda wanna finish this but I dunno if I will.

7) "Lime Dawn Blast". We just kinda gloss over how Dishy just "makes" some detergent during his route, don't we? Anyway, this isn't final, but I wanted to imagine what Dishy's detergents look like through the dateviators. I think these days most people use dishwasher pods in their dishwasher, so they probably wouldn't be that different from the Dipodgenes, but I personally associate dishwashers with boxed powder detergent. While this sketch is based on the normal Dishy's aesthetic, I think I might experiment with bringing them to another decade - maybe more of a "mascot with attitude" like a Sonic or a Chester Cheetah. I mean, its name is "Lime Dawn Blast" - it'd totally be some kind of extreme dude with attitude~ I think the other detergent flavors would be a little more modest though.

8-9) Scrapped emote sketches. I rolled Harper's number when making these, but I didn't like how it was turning out. I also scrapped this Dishy one 'cus I didn't think it'd have wide application.

Monarch Madness Vol II

I wasn't expecting us to have another one of these so soon after the first one. But I think this time was better than the last.

I actually "dropped out" midway through the event since I still have school and other things to focus on, but I still managed to post more than last time.

Bonus: I posted this screenshot as a submission, but I'm currently working on a new comic, about how Tyrell and Dishy got acquainted. It's getting kinda long though (currently 7 pages, and I think it'll need at least 1 or 2 more to be finished), so I don't know when or if it'll be finished. I guess I could post it in parts...

Tsun/Blush

So, I recently made the discovery that at some point, Dishy's "blush" sprite for pose A was updated to that softer expression on the right. I don't know if this is every instance of this in his route, but they really change the feel of these scenes IMO.

This was probably a mistake from when the sprites were compiled for the game rather than a programming update, because the extracted sprites from the wiki show that his Tsun and Blush expressions for this pose are identical. But, that also means that the wiki doesn't actually have this updated sprite uploaded. It's a real shame because this is one of his cuter ones~

It's refreshing to see the updated sprites,, it felt weird having him say most of those lines of dialogue (given the context) while staring into your soul menacingly lmao. But the change in the first example is kinda throwing me for a bit of a loop, considering the blurb of dialogue the narrator says right before.

Probably just me, but I've always envisioned the expression that follows to lean more into the 'surprise' he felt before saving face, like nobody's ever tried talking to him about him before up until this point and it wildly throwing him off his corporate script.

Nah, that's exactly how I originally imagined that interaction too. Like, "TF you mean you wanna talk to me about something other than dishes?? You can't be serious??"

Now it's more like, "Oh, um. You wanna talk to me 😳? Nah, no one's ever here for "me." You *gotta* be here for the dishwashing..."

IMO, the original "Tsun" sprite "made sense" for most of these interactions, but now knowing that he was *supposed* to "be a bit softer, "melt" a little bit, his character changes a lot (mostly for the better IMO).

Like, it's one thing for him to be so self-centered that he can't even fathom that you would think of yourself as evil (from the "My goodness." dialogue) and then still push for you to connect him. But it's a whole other for him to actually sympathize, but he's just not in a position to do anything about it unless you connect him.

It goes from, "Your insecurities are not my problem, but here's the problem I have," to, "I want to help you, but I can't do that unless you do this one little thing for me."
