Christian was genuinely curious, surprised the other was coming out of his shell. He was always under this impression that, as the Swede stated, was a hermit who preferred keeping to himself and interacting only with a close range of people.

Berwald thought for a moment, wondering how to answer the Dane’s question. It was a fair question to ask though especially since the Swede was not the most social person and Christain knew that.

“I am not completely sure but I know I do enjoy the conversations I have with him, if that answers your question.”

Obeying the other’s request, he carefully poured out the sugar into the container, before then shaking the object that once contained the sugar–making sure it all was spilled out. He then proceeded to replace the empty space with salt, and when he completed this task he set it into the usual position it was in before he and the Swede tampered with it.

Lightly, he pushed the sugar towards the other so he can replace the salt with it.

“So, what have you been up to?”

He set to work replacing the salt in the shaker and replacing it with the sugar, pouring the salt into a small bag and putting the sugar Christain gave him into another bag so it wouldn’t go to waste.

“Besides planning this small prank? Not much. I went camping a little while ago and I have texted Rumänien a few times.”

He smiled to show that he didn’t really mean it and that he knew that Fjalar was joking.

“Ya will definitely want to bring a jacket of some kind besides the usual summer wear. It is a bit chilly at the moment and it is better to be safe than sorry. Bring clothes ya don’t care if they get dirty either.”

He itched his jaw, which was beginning to gain a light stubble from having not shaved in quite a while. He looked like he was thinking, as if he was trying to gather something as a conclusion of the whole deal. But, he never said a word about what went on his head—especially since thinking about it right now was making his head hurt.

“So, about that prank. Shall we get started?”

“Ya always have gone by your own rules, it feels like. Hopefully it is temporary for ya though.”

He eyed the other warily, trying to figure out if that was all that was bothering the Dane before sighing and letting it go. It wouldn’t do much good wasting time thinking about it.

He nodded and handed him the salt. “Mhm. Pour out the sugar over there and replace it with this and I will do the same with the salt.”

Laughing, the Dane pat his friend on the shoulder lightly. “You? A hermit? I can so see that! Ya are so shy, so I guess it’s not a surprise. I can’t see that being a huge worry, considerin’ ya do talk to others, like Fin and I.”

He sat down on the chair, still grinning from the hermit thing. He looked over at the other, still a few breathy giggles from his fit coming out, an aftershock of it all.

“But ja, I guess the fight between me and m’ boss was that bad. They banned me from pretty much seeing ya and the other Nordics. But, I ignore that new rule.”

“Apparently since I only really talk to ya all though, ya don’t ‘really count’ and I need to try to talk to other nations besides the four of ya... although right now I just think he’s glad I leave my house at all.”

He smiled at the pat and chuckles along with the Dane before shaking his head slowly.

“It’s still a stupid rule, considering ya are a part of the Nordic council and everything. It’s a bit hard to talk about the region without ya there after all...”

“…Ya a Sherlock now?” He joked, an attempt to lightening up the atmosphere. A weak smile touched his lips, as he knew he was caught red-handed with it.

“Lots of crazy stuff has been happenin’. Boss and I had been arguing, they had even “forbid” me from seeing some of my friends, and then work, work, work. It’s been pretty exhausting.”

“I am when it comes to something being wrong with a family member now out with it.” he joked, a small smile pulling at his lips. He could tell that Danmark was about to open up though so he let the other speak.

“Them ‘forbiding’ ya does not really make any sense, my goodness. My boss it seems is convinced I am trying to be a hermit or something and is trying to get me to be social. I’m sorry ya have been dealing with all of that...”

   Christian rubbed the back of his neck. It was quite ironic that the Swede was the one suggesting to do it, as for once, he himself wasn’t so up to the idea. He just wanted to lay down. Work has been making him more and more exhausted.

“…Alright. It might pick up m’ day to see Arthur hissing at what he just put in his tea.”

He looked at his fellow Nordic with a bit of concern. He had known Christian long enough that he could tell that something was up with his neighbor. He picked up the salt and sugar again but didn’t move from his spot.

“Okay. Out with it. Something is on your mind or bothering ya.”
