Here I have made an arrow, the flowers and more bright parts are at the end pointing and symbolizing going forward, while the burnt wood is at the back showing the moving away from the old.
Here I have placed some inspiring notes on the bathroom mirror.
For Contemporary Issues (Attendance Prompt)
It’s very interesting to me the history of hobo graffiti being used as a sort of communication tool. This is actually tied to my profile picture which was a doodle used by American soldiers in WW2 to signify a cleared and safe house in Europe.
Contemporary Issues (Attendance Prompt)
I realize enjoyed the history of the tunnel and how important it was in very different ways it was to people. The kind of artistic connectivity is something that occasionally goes unnoticed or just overlooked but often has important ties or has been worked on for a long time.
Our NYC 1980s street art.
Here, I have made a structure holding up a stick that represents a cylinder.
The cylinder according to the Smithsonian has its first recorded importance in that of a Persian code of laws of which were inscribed upon it.
Originally called a roller or tumbler in ancient Greek, the shape seems to be the base for much of the development of the pottery seen in archaeological digs. Additionally this shape is the template upon which a boat hull would be constructed during antiquity.
The sculpture that I made is meant to invoke the image of an old boat held on trusts under construction.
Response to video 2 and 4
2) This video is cool as is shows an excellent use of what seems to be a rare skill. Sewing seems like an excellent way of repurposing and reducing waste while also making unique and character full clothes.
4) The design process when fully fleshed out seems very dynamic and open to creativity at every step of the way.
Here I have made an outline in the mud. In addition I have added sticks that I found as limbs. Additionally I used a straw as a mouth and two rocks as eyes.
As my comments are still not working- my response will be here.
First, in regards to the consumption of micro plastics, this is very unfortunate and seems to be a leading issue in the quality of our food.
Secondly the video of the recycling efforts is good to see. I worked in a plastic factory and plastic distribution company and came to learn of the ease at which plastic can be reused. It really hurts to see how avoidable the issues with plastic waste in the ocean is.
I was inspired by the 3 drawing. It made me uneasy in the randomness of each stroke. So I “fixed” it. My twist was to make all the lines straight and jagged. I really like how it turned out. I think it’s really cool that there is still a sense of uneasiness to it but in a different vibe.
Really like the triangular intersections and clean lines, this really looks like a modern art piece.
I chose to emulate #2. I felt that the drawing resembled a city scape, so I chose to use the color blue to resemble windows despite the original not having the color. I also used a more patterned approach to the rectangles than the original.
For my art povera piece I painted a on old bottle I found in my basement. It was very old and trash so I thought it would be interesting to paint.
Nate I like the trash bottle, the green on top looks cool and nothing like what would be in the bottle.
I made a tower out of a box, some duct tape from a shelf, and a plastic bag. On the left side of the seam of the box I painted a sunset with birds.
These are my art pieces. I thought they were abstract but also had some structure to it. I used the sticker of a star in the middle. I wanted that to be what most people focus on. Then I added lines pointing inwards to help people focus on the star. I likes the changes of colors of the lines. Between the two it felt very different creating and I think they both give different vibes. This was a very interesting experience comparing and contrasting the differences of electronic and physical art.
Hey nick really like this, the symmetry of the corners looks great.
1. The biggest take away from Kyle’s answer to this prompt was to “don’t care”. Kyle priorities wearing things that are interesting to him and not what is generally seen as the newest trends or looks.
2. Kyle rebels by “showing what I like”. He empathized that his style revolves around what he enjoys (pictured is his NASCAR shirt) and what he does. His outfits according to him are very “comfort country”.
3. Kyle’s favorite personality from his favorite thing is Kyle Busch. He encouraged him to stay on a path to enjoy his hobbies that are not general seen widespread(racing).
For my digital abstract painting I wanted to make something colorful. I used Snapchat to paint it on my phone then copied it on canvas. I thought the contrast between the pattern in the colors and the randomness in the shapes was interesting. It also looks like something I have seen before, but I’m not sure if there is something else that looks like this.
I chose to reblog this as its design reminded me of something specific from history (my major). It reminds me of one of the first ever camouflage patterns ever put to use, although the hues are clearly different.
