Rhedyn's posture was the complete opposite of the new boy's - Wisteria, he called himself. He was blessedly rather quiet, if a bit too casual in his movement. It was nice to see, since Rhedyn couldn't stand anyone who made noise in the library. It didn't muster their confidence much in their leadership qualities though, as the cloaked assistant moved silently from one shelf to another.
"One of the primary responsibilities of the pages is to re-catalog all of the returned items throughout the week, which come in through the chute in the front and the returns desk," They led him around a wall: the inner section where books got dumped from drop offs outside the building, "You should grab the trolley from there and bring it out."
A better teacher might've phrased it like a question, or at least a more polite request, but Rhedyn's droll tone couldn't be bothered to think about it.
"We may also have to clean some, often times they're returned in poor conditions. Especially the juvenile fiction," Not Rhey's favorite part of the job, but they had to admit it was ever so slightly cute to see all the little kids books.
if there was any dissatisfaction from how rhedyn was speaking to him, wisteria didn't show it maintaining a calm and collected posture. he followed instructions with ease and little dispute. bringing the trolley around, the brunette followed rhedyn around almost like a little duckling as he familiarized himself with the facility.
"what do we do about late returns? do we call back the member for a grace period or just charge them late fees?"
he leaned against the trolley gently, reaching out to straighten some of the books. the edges and spines of the books were tattered from continuous use, and some of them looked as if they needed replacing. but it was a comforting though to wisteria that a book had been passed around so many hands.
"no returns?"
