If you're LGBTQ but your religious parents aren’t supportive, here’s what you can do.
Is it wrong to call myself gay because “your identity should only be in Christ”? Here’s my response to my critics.
(Also, oops, I kind of forgot to post to Tumblr for a while. Now I need to catch you up on some of my recent stuff.)
My new book is out, and I’m on tour! But it’s not that kind of tour. Here’s why.
As a gay Christian, I’m always getting told that I fell for “the Devil’s oldest trick,” doubting the words of God. But that’s literally the opposite of what the Genesis story says. Here’s why.
My book is here!! 😱😱😱 Here’s my genuine reaction to seeing it for the first time.
Can you be gay and Christian? Spoiler: Yes. Here’s why that matters.

What does the Bible really say about homosexuality? Here’s a thoughtful, nuanced approach that you may never have heard before.

Nuance.
The internet gives us a great opportunity to broadcast messages far and wide. But without back-and-forth and face-to-face, we lose a lot of nuance. We need the chance to say, "Did you mean...?" and "Can you clarify...?" and "Here's how that sounded to me."
Nuanced, personal conversation allows us to refine our views and learn and grow as people. On the internet, as with one-way TV and radio commentary, often the loudest and least nuanced voices win out, because they're bold and say what we're already thinking. We need more real conversation, especially with people different from us, because that's where we find the tricky, elusive, complicated truth.
A new book is coming!
After I wrote Torn, everyone kept asking me whether I’d write another book....

A white guy’s thoughts on “Get Out” and racism
This weekend, I went to see a horror movie. It got stuck in my head, and now I can’t stop thinking about it—but not for any of the reasons you might think.

The more you know...
My 4th-grade teacher used to say, "The more you know, the more you know that you don't know."
He was right. To this day I don't trust people who think they know it all. By their arrogance, they reveal their ignorance.
Christian behemoth InterVarsity USA is firing LGBT-affirming staff. This has previously been reported as being about marriage, but it actually goes way beyond that, as I explain in this video.
Here are ways you can make an impact.
We made this monster.
A note for today: Thinking about the political landscape right now, I am disheartened by how easy it is to use demonization of others to promote a cause, and how willing people are to do it.
