She had her head screwed on right. Even when he had first met her down by that pool she had been in so much pain - but she had dealt with it in the only way she knew how. Of course Richie would get straight to the point. In the time she’d known him he’d never really been one to talk you in circles. Even the first time they’d talked, he’d been blunt about things, while at the same time keeping his true intentions under wraps. While it would be nice to maybe have him knock some sense into Seth, it didn’t work that way.

“Unlike Seth I know that just because someone is a culebra, doesn’t mean that they are a disease. I want to find my brother. I was wondering if maybe you or Santanico had heard anything?”

He wanted to believe that. Wanted to believe that his own inner brokenness since he and Seth had parted was being shared by his brother. But who had actua- lly been the one to walk away? Was it him or had it been Seth? He swallowed down on the sudden thick of emotion that enveloped him before a smirk came forward in response.

“Thought you were the kid in this situation? Guess  you’re going to have to pull him out of the gutter on  your own - but you might need my help…going to  ask for it?”

Sometimes Kate felt like she might be the only way for either of them to see how the other felt. At least she could wrap her head around some of the emotions that reared their heads from time to time. Even if she had to bottle it up herself, at least she had a better method of coping.

“I learned you have to grow up pretty quick. I don’t have any intentions on getting him out of that hole he dug himself. If you want to help, have fun trying. He’s going to have to want the help first.”

Would Freddie want to do something similar, were he in her place? It’s hard to say, and he doubts there’s a good answer for it, but he has to keep her best interest in mind.

“Seth is the only smart way. At least sticking around him guarantees food instead of wandering alone.” She said with a sigh. “As for Scott, I have to help him. He might have been turned into a culebra, but he’s still my brother, and he’s alive.” There was a lot of emphasis on the last word. Freddie had been there when she had to run the stake through her father’s chest. He knew she didn’t have anyone left.

Just a small notice. I might be less active today because all my male icons got corrupted and I have to remake them all. Also this weekend into the beginning of this coming week I might be touch and go because there’s going to be a hurricane over where I live. So not sure if we’ll lose power this time. Technically it’s only a Tropical Storm, but it might pick up wind power before it touches down.
