I AM SO SICK of (mostly Alliance) players spitting ACTUAL HATE at other human beings for playing Horde.

I’ve seen comparisons to Trump supporters. I’ve seen THREATS. I have seen the WORST bullying and saying make-no-sense things, like “how dare you play the victim by protesting your Horde storyline” right next to “you’re a monster if you like your Horde storyline!”

I am tired of these people saying “You’re making excuses for your unforgivable behavior, Horde! You CHOSE this!”

BLIZZARD FUCKING WROTE THIS EXPANSION, NOT THE HORDE PLAYERBASE!

If you are ANY of these kind of people engendering the REAL mistreatment and harassment that I am seeing of REAL people over this INTERACTIVE FICTION STORY, I disown you from humanity.

The roleplayers I have interacted with on Twitter, Tumblr, in Discord, and in game have thus far actually been intelligent about this. I attribute it to the fact that even the least intelligent among the roleplayers is still aware enough that this whole game world is just a story to write in and play with, and is often thinking from the creative aspect of it.

The rest, though? Jesus fucking Christ, it’s worse than the 2016 election. You’ll get a 50/50 chance now of talking to a player (Alliance) and they’ll either be a decent human being, or they’ll call you a scumbag and list off all the reasons why you are a horrible creature and deserve to LEGITIMATELY BE HURT/HARMED because you play Horde in this expansion.

I was originally going to write that “they’re so deep into the rp that they can’t tell the difference anymore” didn’t refer to people that actually play pretend in the WoW setting, but I thought about it some more and realized that’s not even the case.

My experiences have been totally the opposite: roleplayers were awful and people that actually play the game don’t care because they haven’t read mission text since wotlk. They’re typically Horde for the racials and cool race aesthetics and don’t care about anything else whereas roleplayers have been rather deeply invested into the storyline.
