I was pretty fortunate to be a beta tester for Queen Mary’s Script Retold (by @maimiestoybox) a while back, here’s some sketches I did in between game testing~ (Plus a bonus 3-koma that only beta-testers would get, i guess??? In the beta version, ‘jump’ & ‘talk’ were mapped to the same button, so i kept hopping over the npcs i wanna talk to lol)

Here it is friends! The Queen Mary’s Script Retold demo! A LOT of playtesting went into this both by playtesters and myself. I’m extremely proud of what I have going, but am still open to critique on gameplay so please check it out and let me know what you think! ———————–

Queen Mary’s Script is a tale of a young girl who finds a happy escape in her own dreams. She lives in a shell closed off from the world and only in her own room can she express her feelings.  That is, until she happens upon the doll Clause and all at once, the magic she yearned for in her life is thrust upon her. 

However, she soon finds that magic isn’t always what it looks like in books and dolls are just as selfish as humans.

The demo encompasses the entire first portion of the game. It’s a set up for various characters to take center stage, backstories to dwell upon and new secrets to be revealed!  It features: - An original story with 100% original, hand drawn assets. - A classical bgm featuring the likes of Chopin and Rachminoff - Falcao ABS battle system customized specifically for this game - Plenty of character secrets and dialogue

I think I’m throwing in the towel of stubbornness when it comes to GUI/menu design. 

I know it’s one of my biggest complaints that I get, but I can’t help it.

as long as it’s readable or the font can be switched to help those with disabilities (or poor eyesight), I don’t mind a fancy GUI/menu

Agreed! Also to add on, while I do enjoy the aesthetics of a completely handwritten GUI... I can’t for the life of me read cursives! (It might be a cultural thing, since cursive is rarely used where I’m from) but yeah, some poor-eyesight friendly fonts please! 🙇

Edmund x Juniper! I feel like they balance each other out emotionally and their interaction with each other is very cute! I just just want my two babies to be happy ; w; Other fav pairings: Clause x Mary x Edmund ; Cat x Albert ; Juniper x Emily (from Mindless Box)???? (I need these two witches to meet up and have a heart to heart about the trashy men in their lives (*´ω｀*) ) And let’s not forget that flaming trainwreck that is Edmund x Amanda x Peter because what’s a good story without some S U F F E R R I N G
