Every Friday I’m sharing music videos for the songs off my new album This Is Really Happening—this one is The Mint Leaves Adorn the Clouds. An instrumental journey and interlude between spaces in the album that makes use of loops and field recordings over the past several years, collaged together, writing a song very differently than my normal process. ☁️ Some thematic elements tie this to the song This Is Not Enough. Your Smile is out today! This song features beautiful harmonies by Amanda Salguero of King Willow ( @amandita324 @kingwillowmusic ) and was expertly mastered by Piper Payne (@sf_mastering ). “Where are you when I want you Go away when I don’t need you” Have you ever felt near someone physically yet so far apart emotionally? This song for me tries to name the various shifting feelings in our world. They represent a pattern I felt in myself and others in the online dating community, a simultaneous demand for presence and dismissal of emotional intimacy. A lot of songs on this record approach this idea of physical closeness and emotional isolation. I hope you find a sense of emotional community in the music.
