Web design and PHP - the solution

Since I restarted to write here in tumblr, I've been thinking in how I could maintain the commitment with myself to keep writing in English. And the only solution was try to write about things I like. So, I decided to start a small Webdesign and PHP course in tumblr.

This small course is not for those geeks who want to code the competition of facebook. However, this small course is for those who wanted to create their own website with a simples, but useful, scripts to get more professional feel and look in their sites.

First at all, you have to have some knowledge of programming. You have to know what a conditional, loops and databases are. Not in a complex level, but in a basic level to be able to understand what I am talking about.

I'm preparing the first chapter numbered as "0". In this chapter I'm going to introduce the basic concepts as HTML to you.

Other night other fight with Mathias

Here I’m at 12:20am waiting that Mathias finally fall asleep. He loves to be awake at this time in the night, I really don’t know why but is how he is. Fortunately, today seems he is going bed earlier than yesterday and that is a great news. Today I continued my English training using a webpage called “Year of English” and other one called Voxy.com, two great options to help with your English studies. Well, that’s all for tonight… I hope write something better tomorrow.

Here i am again

Hello everybody!!! Here I'm waiting for my baby finally fall asleep. In Venezuela is 1:15am (11st January) and he doesn't wanted to go bed. He is awake since yesterday at 10pm. I just wanted to take a minute and write a few words in English before go bed. Mainly I want to express my concern about Venezuela. Today the current government has violated the National Constitution using his power in the National Assembly and the Supreme Court. It's unbelievable how much power the party of the government has. Today is sad day for the Venezuelan history. I hope soon we can get back to a real democracy in our country. Well that's all for now... Beat wishes

Hello again!

Long time without write something. Past months were extremely complicated for me and my family. As I told you, in a post, we were expecting our firstborn and fortunately the baby was born on 3rd of December 2012.

His name is Mathias Enrique, and his weight was 2.8 Kg. Is a healthy and happy baby. He is growing very fast and now one month later he weight is almost 4 Kg.

One month later things are starting to come to normally and now I'm trying to re-take my English writing practices.

That's way I should try to write more in this blog because I need to improve my English. And I've just realized that the only way to keep myself writing is doing it about things I like. So, is very probable that I would start to write about computers, Internet and Linux.

Well, that's all for now. I know this post is completely crazy because doesn't have any specific subject but I needed to restart to write about anything.

A hot work journey

Today I spent all day working like a dog! Now that I know that I have to maintain a new baby very soon I have to work harder to earn more money and get all the necessary that a new baby need.

Today was a hot day. Punto Fijo (My hometown) had 36ºC and feeling like 44ºC because the humidity. And as in our office the air conditioner wasn't working well enough, was extremely hard being focus in the projects I was working in.

Well, I know this post doesn't have any sense but I wanted to write anything in my daily blog.

Hi there!!

Again I lost the road in my English daily blog :( I'm sorry! but I have very good reasons to that. Last week I received the great news that my wife and I are expecting a baby :)

I'm so happy, that it's impossible to express with words (and less possible in English hehehe) it will be my very first son/daughter ever and I can't wait to hug him/her.

Well my friends I only wanted to tell you all this great news I received and I hope come soon wit other English post.

The importance to write in English every day

Hi everyone!

I was thinking about my English learning process and I realized about why my English doesn't improve as much as I want. I spend many hours per week listening English through diverse ways such as radio station, movies, tv series and tv news. I read a lot in English, many of my search I do in Google I try to do it in English. But I still don't have the confident in the language.

So, what I realized about? I didn't practice my "generating process". I mean, I read and listening a lot but I don't "produce" enough English (phrases, sentences) neither writing or speaking. So here is the importance of this project that started Chris and I should (and I'm going to do it) commitment seriously in it to get a better English level.

Hi everyone! I was lost for two to three weeks. These days have been hard to me, I've been working hard and solving many personal issues that kept me far away from the English learning process.

I hope this time I could be able to maintain my compromise to publish one post each day. No matter how short they'd be.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?

When I feel in a bad mood I usually try to calm myself. It's that fail I look support from my wife to try to change my mood talking about the situation. It's that failed too, I try to go out, to walk around and if I have some money I go shopping hehehe.

Few tips to practice English

It's really important try to increase the exposure to English, so I use the follows actions to do it. I hope these tips will help you too:

I change my facebook, gmail, yahoo, hotmail, twitter settings to English.

I change my cellphone language to English.

I installed my web browsers in English instead of Spanish.

As I like to read comics. I use gocomics.com web page to receive daily comics to my email box. I wrote long time ago a post that explain how I use it. You can visit it here

I've been away from my #EnglishDaily posts because I was extremely busy. This post correspond to March 17th. That day was my birthday :D and I spent all the day with my wife and family.

I don't know how is celebrated birthdays in other countries but here in Venezuela we usually sing "happy birthday" song around to a cake with your closer friends and family.

My first Post - Hello World!

First at all, I want to say thank you to Chris for this initiative. I would like to introduce myself before share anything else.

I'm from Venezuela and I'm 28 years old (not for much time more). My birthday is March 17th (three days to go). I'm a php programmer and I defined myself as an Entrepreneur.

I've been learning English by my own. Using Internet resources such as Youtube's videos, blogs, podcast an so on. I started to study English in December 2010 and has been a hard and fascinating adventure.
