Do people realise that calling eala a silver spoon is not the gotcha moment you think it is. Sure her parents could afford it. She went to nadal's academy but that didnt mean it wasnt a big money. ASEAN countries' money arent as big as you like to think (except for singapore/brunei ig but thats another thing). Her parents afforded it but the money is still a lot for someone who comes from southeast asia. Everyone here knows how expensive tennis is. Thats why shes the first for everything as a filipina. Her family could afford her spendings as a tennis player is a bigger call out to how expensive tennis is as a sport. Its not easy breaking through, its expensive for countries with weaker money rates. You thought the orgs did something to make tennis accessible for everyone when lesser-known eu countries made it to the top ranks, but no. Tennis is expensive and not affordable for most countries and you chose to whack her for being silver spoon? My ass

and even just the money aside, i wish people understood how difficult it is for someone from a developing country to break into a space youre underrepresented in where you virtually have no mentors to rely on. the last successful filipino tennis players were pre-open era! she has the RNA but im sure it’s different to be the only one from your country navigating the circuit on your own
