I’ve been a ghost adventures fan since I saw it for the first time back when their show was on Netflix and even though they had every episode on there, the very first episode I watched was the Lizzie Borden House investigation.

I’ve had this account for about a year, though I’ve been a fan for longer than that.

• Zak would be very protective and overprotective of you, he would make sure that you’re well taken care of, even if he’s not there with you

• Zak would worry about you a lot if you don’t communicate more than a few days

• If there are times in being together, and you would feel insecure about the relationship you had with Zak, he would always reassure you

• Gifts. Zak would spoil you to no end, he would jump at every opportunity when it comes to getting you something. Most of the time it’s jewelry he thinks you would like, and you do.

• Zak loves playing with your hair, loves how soft it is. Whether it would be running his fingers lightly through your hair or brushing it, he can’t keep his hands away. Sometimes Zak would use your hair to tease you. Like, sometimes tugging it from behind unexpectedly or pretending to cut it off if he was in a joking mood.

• Talking. When it comes to talking, Zak loves talking to you the most. You find that entertaining as once you get him on a subject he’s much interested in, Zak can’t seem to focus on anything else. But if he’s talking to someone else, like Aaron or someone, the only subject he’s talking about is you, he won’t stop talking about you and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

• Proposing. At some point in your relationship, Zak will propose to you. Of course, the subject of engagement and marriage has come up in conversation before, and you both agreed to wait until the timing felt right.

• Cooking together. Most nights, you both preferred home cooked meals and often cooked together.

• Sometimes, Zak would find you wearing his hoodies. Especially in the times you were sick, or if he was gone on an investigation you couldn’t tag along on.

• Holding hands. Zak would always be the first to take your hand in his.

• Cuddling. You both often cuddle with a soft blanket wrapped around you both while watching a movie or tv.

• Sharing food and drinks

• Patching up wounds. Even if it’s just a paper cut, Zak will treat it like it’s something major.

• Zak scolding you if you get hurt. Most of the time, you find it sweet and funny. Other times, you can’t help but feel annoyed by it.

• Shoulder rubs. Especially for Zak when he’s come home from a tough investigation.

Looking for an Coauthor

This is not really an update, but I have an idea for a whole new project on my Ghost Adventures writings!

The idea:

Lately, I’ve been really into the George Mallory and Sandy Irvine mystery, the British mountaineers who made attempts to be the first to stand on the summit of Everest and disappeared during their 1924 expedition. They discovered the body of George Mallory in 1999 at about 26,000 ft and Sandy Irvine still remains a mystery as only a partial of his body had recently been discovered.

My idea is that the crew is invited to investigate Mount Everest because of the mystery of George Mallory and Sandy Irvine. The reader has the ability/gift to see and talk to ghosts, and when she finds out she’s related to George Mallory, she doesn’t hesitate to come along the investigation. As they are just about to enter the death zone, that’s when she meets the ghost of George Mallory as well as Sandy Irvine. The two climbers can’t rest in peace because Sandy still remains a mystery since George was discovered. Sandy asks the reader for help to have his story told in the mountaineering community and leads her and the crew where his body has been for over 100 years. Once she accomplishes that, the two climbers are now able to rest in peace and it becomes the most successful investigation of the GAC in the end.

“I’m sorry about the camera-“

“Don’t worry about the camera. Are you okay?”

Being a new recruit to the Ghost Adventures team, Pennhurst was your very first investigation and things really couldn’t have gone more wrong.

You really thought you were about to be done for, full on believing that Zak was just about to fire you on the spot for possibly destroying an expensive camera and some very expensive equipment that you were just learning how to use. Because of the very brief adrenaline rush you’d experienced from the fall, you didn’t notice the cut you received until now, as it started to really sting.

That was until the shock had settled in, stuff like this was just something you couldn’t do. You remain in the trance from swarming thoughts until Zak broke you out of it by shining the flashlight in your face, repeating his question as did some inspection.

“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?” he asks, worry evident in his voice.

Before you mention the pain, Zak’s eyes lands on your cut with the flashlight.

Zak cursed.

“He’s going to fire me, now.” your mind tells you.

Because you thought he was cursing about the camera, so you start apologizing again.

“I’m sorry, Zak. About the camera. I know it was my fault so I understand if you want to fire me.”

Zak looks at you in disbelief.

Like you were out of your mind.

“No, (Y/n). I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to fire you over it. It was an accident, none of it was your fault. All I care about is that you’re okay and not injured. It does look like you got a cut from the fall. Wait here, I’m going to grab the first aid kit.

You wait with Nick and Aaron.

They begin to take care of you until Zak comes back with the first aid kit. Zak gently takes hold of your injured hand, and begins fixing you up. Once Zak was done, you see a serious, concerned expression take over Zak. Somehow, you already know what he’s about to say.

“I don’t think I should let you continue this investigation, (Y/n). I don’t want to risk you getting injured further up.”

“What?”

“I think I should send you back to Nerve Center with Billy. Or maybe I should take you to the hospital, just make sure you’re really okay.

“What? Over a small cut? Zak, I don’t need to go to the hospital. Nor do I think I should sit the rest of this one out. I’m fine.”

Zak hesitated but agreed.

“Okay, you can continue. But if something else happens again, I’m pulling you out to Nerve Center.”

“It’s a deal.”

What Dating Zak would be like

• He doesn’t quite like the idea of bringing you along investigation, especially the ones he knows will be more intense than usual

• When it comes to joining Zak in a interview, Zak talks for you most of the time

• You find teasing amusing, teasing Zak about his phobia of dolls. You have a replica of Robert the Doll and sometimes you place him on Zak’s side of the bed as a prank, to mess with him when you have nothing else better to do

• He gets you back with your phobia

• I don’t see Zak being much of a cuddle person, but he will if you ask

• He can be very stubborn, especially when it comes to getting sick

• You’re always and always will be his first priority

• He’s very gentle towards you

• He will give you the best care when or if you get sick

• If you get a panic attack, he will hold you and coax you all the way through it

• You’re the only one who can calm him after he gets possessed

• You’re the only one who can get him to laugh at whatever corny jokes you tell

A/N: I know you’ve requested for smut, but I’ve never written for that before so I changed it a little bit! I hope that’s okay!

“F*** you! F*** you!”

“Me?”

“Yeah, you! I said f*** you!”

Witnessing how Zak was treating Aaron was something you weren’t going to stand for. Besides Zak, you have bonded most with Aaron and this was breaking your heart.

As you made your choice to step in to protect Aaron, to put a stop to this, you were caught off guard when Zak pushed you back hard enough to make you stumble and fall. After picking yourself back up, you faced Zak in the dark, using your night vision camera. Only, this wasn’t Zak to you, this was someone you don’t recognize, someone you have never met before in your life.

“This doesn’t concern you, (Y/n)!”

You disagreed and that only seemed to upset him more.

“Yes it does, Zak!”

“No it doesn’t! End of story!”

“I disagree!”

That’s where Zak snaps.

“How does this concern you, (Y/n)?! This just shows that you’re in the way and in no use of anyone or anything. You’re just in the way, you aren’t good for anything! A nobody just like all the girls I’ve dated before you!”

The words stung, but you know this wasn’t Zak at all. Of course, you continued to argue back and when it became a little explosive, Aaron and Nick had to step in before anything serious happened.

You’d be lying if you said you weren’t scared seeing Zak this way, because you were. After six months of dating, this was your first time seeing a side of him you never wanted to see again. This scared you enough that when Nick got you away from Zak, you had tears streaming down your face. Nothing is said as you let Nick take you back to Nerve Center just outside. But once you got there, you wanted to turn back around where Zak was, but no such luck as Nick quickly intervened and prevented you from going anywhere.

“I can’t let you do that, (Y/n). Not while Zak is like this.”

All you could do at this point was sit down and wait for what happens next.

About fifteen minutes later, you hear Zak and Aaron approaching Nerve Center. Nick stood up as Zak started making his way towards you, you quickly followed and stood up, reassuring Nick it was okay for Zak to come near. Just by looking at the remorseful expression on his face, you knew Zak was back to his old self and that’s all you’ve ever wanted. The Zak you knew was back, although you could tell that he was drained of energy and was obviously tired.

When Zak was close enough, he didn’t hesitate to pull you in his arms, nuzzling his nose into your neck as he apologizes continuously.

“I’m so sorry, (Y/n). I didn’t mean any of that back there. You are my world and I would be lost without you in my life.”

You couldn’t help but smile at that.

“It’s okay, Zak. I know that wasn’t you, and if I didn’t have you in my life, I’d be lost, too.”

Zak pulls you even closer to him.

Once the investigation comes to an end, everyone retires to their hotel rooms. Of course, you and Zak share one.

The moment you enter your room, you wanted to crash with Zak and take a well deserved rest. But seeing something was still troubling Zak, you had to ask.

“Are you okay, Zak?” you ask, rubbing your fingers through his hair.

“Just tired is all. This was a tough investigation we’ve had in a long time. I just wish I could easily forget it, but I know it’s going to stick with me for a while.”

You didn’t have to ask Zak why it was a tough one on him, you already knew. But you wanted to help him and had come up with a way to do so.

“What if there was a way you could forget?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, I may know a way to help you forget.”

Upon hearing that, Zak seemed to catch on to what you’re referring to.

Zak being your first, he was a little unsure until you confirmed it.

“Are you sure, (Y/n)? You don’t have to-“

“I’m sure, Zak. More than anything.”

Zak quickly gave in once you confirmed.

“I won’t hurt you.” he promised.

“I know. I trust you.”

It was a moment you and Zak will never forget.

“Why can’t you love me back?” Zak asks, his voice cracking with hurt and disappointment.

You’ve been part of the Ghost Adventures Crew for years now and as you’ve recently noticed that you were taking a lot of unwanted negativity feelings and energy home, you made one of the most difficult decisions to resign your position from the Ghost Adventures Crew, and the resignation didn’t go in the way you had hoped it would.

Once you got Zak alone for a moment, you broke the news to him and he didn’t take it very well. Zak didn’t want you to leave, all throughout working with him, he had developed a crush on you and in response to what you had just told him, Zak confessed. Zak’s confession didn’t make it any easier on you, because what he was unaware of was that you started feeling the same way. Still, Zak’s confession took you by surprise as you weren’t expecting it. But as much as you wanted to give into the love you have for Zak, you resisted. You were as gentle as possible when you told him you didn’t feel the same.

“I’m sorry, Zak. I don’t feel the same way.”

Zak’s expression hardened, his jaw clenched in clear frustration as he didn’t say anything else back.

“Please forgive me.” you say.

Zak sighed in defeat.

“I can forgive you, (Y/n). But it’ll take me some time.”

“I understand. I’m so sorry Zak. Even though I don’t feel the same way, I was hoping the both of us and the crew could continue our friendship.”

“Of course we can.”

Despite the coldness in his tone of voice, you felt relieved.

“Thank you, Zak. I appreciate that and I appreciate everything you have done for me over these years.”

With a curt nod of acknowledgement, Zak didn’t say anything else to that. He only said what was on his mind at the moment.

“So, you’re also saying that this will be your last investigation with the crew?”

Though Zak was being a little cold towards you, and almost distant like, you respond with confirmation.

“Yes, this will be my last investigation.”

“You can still change your mind you know.”

“I know. But I’m definitely sure about my decision.”

Another curt nod of acknowledgement was all you got in response. You and Zak spoke for a little while longer and before you knew it, it was time to begin the lockdown.

The lockdown at The Casa Grande Domes in Arizona had officially started.

A New Beginning — Zak Bagans x Reader

You didn't know that your boyfriend, Zak Bagans, was a vampire. In fact, you were very clueless about it, despite dating for a couple of years already.

After a long day of investigating, the two of you finally had time to yourselves in the hotel. You were cuddled into Zak's side, not yet aware of his true identity. A low, sudden grumble resonates from his chest, causing you to look up at him in concern.

"What's up, Zak?" She finally asked, concerned.

He flashes you an embarrassed grin, and that's when you see it. Four pointed fangs where his canine teeth should have been. You sit up, a little alarmed.

Surely, this can't be real, you think to yourself in bewilderment as a dull glint comes from the vampire fangs she was so sure was fake. He was just trying to scare you, that's all, you tried to reassure yourself.

"Sorry," he finally apologizes. "I almost lost control of myself there."

"How come you didn't tell me you were a vampire?" you ask, feeling a little hurt.

"Didn't think that you would believe," he answered, shrugging his shoulders. "Everyone knows that Bram Stoker invented vampires and Dracula. You'd think that it would be some sort of tale."

"Zak, you know I believe you, right?" you asked, your eyes filled with concern. He only shrugs. She turned to make sure that he was eye level with her, and she looked determined. "Turn me into one."

Zak stared, alarmed. "W-What?"

"You heard me. Turn me into one of your kind."

"It won't be worth it, y/n," Zak tried to protest.

"It will be if I'm with you," you protest, cupping his cheek with your hand. "Zak. I trust you."

The next thing she knows, is that two fangs pierce into her flesh in her clavicle. When she wakes up, everything was different. She could see things that she's never seen before. Everything seems to be twice as bright with a hint of shimmer to it. When her eyes finally land on Zak, she smiles, revealing that she, too, has identical fangs like his.

He looks relieved, now that he knows that she's survived. He brings her into a hug, which she returns, burying her face into her chest.

"How are you feeling, my little vampire?" he asks, his voice slightly hesitant. Y/n grins.

"Never better. I'm thrilled that I get to spend the rest of my eternity with you."

And they were off to a new beginning.

Dating Aaron Goodwin would include

• Being braver than him on nearly every lockdown

• He will put you in front of him if he gets spooked and you can’t help but make fun of him a little for it

• He lets you get away with it, he teases you to when it comes to certain things like that of your own

• He enjoys showing you off to the audience, he will compliment you and say things that he knows very well to make you blush like mad on camera

• You playfully tease him right back, and he goes along with it, saying that you were now even on making each other blush on camera

• Sometimes, you both like to mess with Zak by talking to each other in the lovey dovey sort of way. You will sit back and watch as Zak’s face goes red with embarrassment, it’s a little too late for anyone not to notice it when Zak decides to walk away while saying things like, “Get a room, you two.” or “Guys, this is completely unprofessional.”

• If Zak sends you on a solo mission, Aaron has a gut instinct that it’s not a good idea, saying that he should be the one to do it, being protective of you

• When it comes to being protective, Aaron can sometimes get a little overprotective and though you love and appreciate him for it, it can sometimes get a tad bit annoying, but you never have or will have the heart to tell him that

• After being sent on a solo mission in the dark during one lockdown, you end up tripping down some stairs and getting hurt. As the crew witnesses that at nerve center, Aaron is the first and only one to come to your rescue

• It was only minor cuts and bruises as a result, and although Aaron still worries about that small of an injury you’ve received, he checks on you until he can really confirm that that’s all it is on you

• “Thank god you didn’t hit your head during your fall.” he’d say

• Because Aaron is a good friend to Zak, Zak will also lookout for you to make sure you’re safe and/or if whatever assignment is safe enough to hand over to you. But first, he always runs it by Aaron to see if he’s comfortable or okay with him sending you on an assignment

• Zak is like your bodyguard when Aaron can’t be there to look after you

• Sometimes when an investigation is more rough on Aaron than usual, you do your best to comfort him. For example, when you were investigating the Winchester Manson, it had an affect on the crew and they had to end it early for their sake

• You gave Aaron the comfort and all the support he needed after that one

• When it comes to arguments, they almost never occur. But when they do, which has happened only a couple of times, you’re the kind of couple that talk it out and resolve whatever the argument was about, it didn’t matter how big or small

• When you guys started going out, Aaron made it a habit to bring you along on investigations until you eventually become part of the crew

• Aaron also picked up on the habit of spoiling you, buying you gifts from everywhere you go on an investigation/lockdown

• He’s an absolute incredible cook

• At first, Aaron wasn’t comfortable about PDA but as time moved forward, he became more open to it and now doesn’t mind it in the least bit. If anything, he absolutely loves it, adores it. When things became much more serious and personal between you two, Aaron couldn’t go anywhere without holding your hand

• He will have a hold of your hand in one of his while the other was holding the camera as it’s rolling

• Aaron is a great listener, if you needed to talk about anything that may be on your mind, his ears are always open to hear you

• He’s not the jealous type, he trusts you completely. No matter what rumor would come around, he would not have any of that garbage people will try to throw at your relationship. Instead, he would listen to you and believe you, he loves you so much

• While he loves you to pieces, you’ve grown close to the rest of the crew and they’ve grown fond of you. After you joined, you started becoming more like family to one another

• You were Aaron’s girl and you loved it. He’s you’re absolute world and your rock as you were his

Location: St. Anne’s Retreat in Logan, Utah

You and the Ghost Adventures crew were investigating the St. Anne’s Retreat in Logan, Utah.

This place gave you the creeps, and this was your first time ever having second thoughts about this lockdown while at the same time, you wanted nothing more than to get this investigation started. Of course, Aaron could read you like a book and picked up the senses that you were on edge of this location.

Just as the thoughts were becoming to get overwhelming, Aaron steps over. While Zak was still in the middle of an interview, Aaron steps in with a promise.

“We’ll stick together. You’ll be with me and I’ll be with you.”

You nod in agreement, now a little more reassured and confident that whatever may happen tonight, everyone will turn up okay and without any demonic scathing.

Before you know it, day turns into night and the lockdown has officially begun. One of your assignments Zak gives you is to go up the stairs and sit on the banister, and try to provoke spirits to push you over. You were used to these kind of stunts, so you don’t mind doing what Zak was asking of you.

“(Y/n), I would like for you to go up there and sit on the banister, try to get pushed back.” Zak instructs.

Once you make it to the banister, you begin to call out to the spirits, challenging them to push you backwards.

During this time, Aaron was watching in anticipation of, not onboard at all with what Zak was having you do as part of this investigation. Aaron even starts to scold Zak before suggesting to do something else.

“I hear that you enjoy pushing people down the stairs, even over this banister. The very same banister I’m just now sitting on, I’m taking up your space. How does that make you feel?”

Right on cue, something metal slides across the floor, landing directly at your feet as it clinks before fully stopping. You’d be lying if you had said that you were not scared at all, because you were scared and with what happened just now, added more fright to it.

Though you were scared, it helped to have Aaron and Zak there with you as you continue to provoke.

“You don’t like that I’m here, invading don’t you? Than COME ON! SHOW YOURSELF! DON’T BE A COWARD! Quit hiding and push me over!”

This time, nothing happens.

Only silence remains.

“I don’t know, man. I don’t like that you put (Y/n) up there like that. Besides, nothing is really happening. I think it’s time to move to a different room.”

“Okay, but I’m sending the two of you to investigate it yourselves while I go down to investigate the swimming pool where the nun drowned her baby.”

After Zak calls you back, you follow as you make it to a different room. You follow Aaron inside, but Zak stayed behind and closed the door behind you, locking the both of you in the room.

You than hear Zak sealing the door shut with screws and nails. Aaron was the first to react, as he right away starts hitting the door with a closed fist while shouting at Zak to let the two of you out.

“Hey! This wasn’t part of the deal! Let us out!”

Now you were starting to panic.

“How long do you plan on keeping us here?” you ask.

“Don’t worry, not long at all.”

With that, no more answers are given and that’s when your anxiety shoots through the roof and takes over.

Aaron notices and immediately rushes to tend to you, embracing you in a most comforting way. You pull him close as he tries to comfort and calm you down.

“I know this isn’t easy, especially with your anxiety. But hey, we’ll get through this. Okay? As long as I’m here with you, you’re safe here.” he tells you.

The sound of his voice was inviting, it was not only comforting but soothing.

Once you both felt you’re more relaxed, you begin to explore while trying to communicate with the dead who haunts the property. As promised, Aaron stuck by you and you volunteered to use the spirit box to see if you would have any luck in receiving responses, if any would come through.

Not much had come through, but you kept trying with Aaron until Zak and Nick had come back to set you both free. Once freed, you quickly picked up on the fact that you were locked in the room with Aaron for the rest of the investigation. Just because you didn’t appreciate that you and Aaron didn’t get to participate in the last parts of the lockdown, doesn’t mean you’re angry about it. In all honesty, you were just thrilled about not being trapped anymore. Why that is, it’s because you didn’t have to go through it alone, Aaron was there as he promised.

Now that this lockdown was over and complete, there was one final thing to check off before calling this a wrap.

That something was going over the evidence on everyone’s camera.

It was the evidence.

Scaring Zak

Zak x reader

Location: Lava Hot Spring Inn

You were new to the Ghost Adventures Crew and this was your first lockdown.

Just like anyone would be, you were feeling a mix of excitement and nervous for it. The first location for your first lockdown was Lava Hot Springs Inn, Lava Hot Springs Idaho.

Now you know the Lava Hot Springs Inn, originally built in 1924, was initially a hospital and a sanitarium, providing both traditional services and access to the mineral rich hot springs. With all the medical history in your past, forced you to spend most of your life in the hospital and because of that, you didn’t like hospitals. It doesn’t matter what the Lava Hot Springs Inn is used as now, you still felt uneasy and even unsure of yourself if you could go through with this investigation. Not only was it all that having you feel uneasy, but it was because you had no idea of what Zak might make you do.

Aaron Goodwin had been your best friend since high school and knowing that you had just about as much passion of the paranormal and the unknown, he introduced you to Zak and Zak hired you on the spot. At first, Zak seemed to be excited to have you join the crew until later on, he started acting cold towards you, almost as if he suddenly hated you instead. Whatever the reason for it, you decided to not let it bother you too much if not at all. But now, it even started becoming impossible when Zak started picking on you. Being Aaron’s best friend, you confide in him and told him how it was making you feel. Aaron was listening and was sympathetic towards you. Than you go on to tell him how you felt about this investigation and that turned out to be a mistake as you were unaware of Zak being nearby talking to Nick, hearing everything you said.

Of course, he commented on it before continuing his interview with the owner.

“It’s like I hired a baby. If I had known you were this sensitive, (Y/n), I wouldn’t have hired you on the team.”

Even though Zak’s comment made your heart drop, you remained silent because if he was looking for satisfaction in knowing he got to you, you weren’t going to give that to him.

It was easy to tell that Zak’s comment got to Aaron as well, and Aaron was quick to reassure and comfort you.

“Don’t listen to Zak, (Y/n). He may say dumb shit like that, but he has a soft side. He just has to get to know you first and when he does, he’ll start coming around.”

You nod in agreement.

“If anything, I think that you’re a grand addition to the team. I honestly mean that. Don’t let him or anyone tell you otherwise.”

You decided to stand by what Aaron said, making that be the best thing for you to do, and you were glad to have done that. It seemed to have worked in your favor, because when Zak said he wanted to start the investigation by going on a solo mission on his own, you volunteered for the next opportunity for a solo mission in the dark.

Zak agreed and had you follow him in the main part of the building. You both separate and you hadn’t gone very far before you hear Zak getting scared. Just out of instinct, you turn and go back to where Zak was to see what the commotion was all about. Much to your amusement, Zak was freaking out over a bat in the building.

You couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight, because of Zak’s attitude towards you a few hours ago, this helped you feel better about it a little.

“It’s only a bat.” you say.

“Yeah, but do you not understand the kind of germs these guys carry?” Zak protests.

“Of course I do, but if you leave it alone, it will leave you alone.”

“No, we need to get him out before we continue the lockdown.”

“Do you want me to call animal control?”

“No, that will take up too much time. I have an idea.”

You follow Zak back to nerve center, he than finds a long net before going back inside.

Not only you follow behind, but Nick and Aaron do as well. You’re still using night vision cameras as you walk back in the building, now walking down some stairs to the room where the bat was. This whole time, you couldn’t help but think back to that episode of The Office you watched the other night with Aaron. The one where Dwight finds a bat in the ceiling and sets it free in the office. Your next thought was an idea, since you were behind Zak, you got the idea to scare him.

Turning, you signal for everyone to stay quiet as you made yourself sneak up on Zak by lightly and quickly poking him on his shoulder and you got the reaction you wanted.

“Holy shit!”

Zak turns and sees through his night vision it was only you.

“Not funny, (Y/n).” he snaps.

The crew got a good laugh out of your prank to scare Zak.

But no more than you and Aaron.

“Who’s the sensitive one, now?” Aaron mocks.

Zak rolls his eyes and than, it’s like nothing happened.

After catching the bat, you release it and continue on with the investigation.

It was mission accomplished.

A successful lockdown, which meant more to you since it was your first.

You were more than ready for the next.

Pediophobia

After wrapping up an interview, it was easy to tell that Harold the doll really spooked him.

Which wasn’t at all surprising as you know of his phobia of dolls as well as snakes. As you were on your way back to the car after the interview, you begin to feel a mysterious pain in your left arm.

Looking at your arm, you start to see three little bruises that weren’t there before. You don’t remember running into anything or someone grabbing you by the arm at all, but as you are about to mention this discovery to Zak and the crew, Zak brings up the fact that he’s feeling the same mysterious pain. Once you were back at the car, Zak examines his arm and you can clearly see three identical small bruises forming on the same spot. Seeing that, Zak begins to freak out and you can tell he’s more uneasy about going through this investigation

“Doesn’t that look like a child’s hand grabbing my arm?”

You didn’t have anything to say, you were stunned about this coincidence.

The more you thought about it, the more you remember things from the interview about when it comes to Harold the doll, you must watch your hand and arm.

“I forgot about that.” Zak says.

After being reminded of that important detail, you begin to remember that the doll is being possessed by five different spirits, and that you should always be careful because if you guys did the wrong thing, and pissed off Harold the doll, you could get broken hands.

That was Zak’s breaking point, and yours as well. Thinking back when the doll was first presented to you in a case, you picked it up first before handing it over to Zak. Now that you begin to remember being told to be careful of his left arm as it was about to break, it quickly clicked within you that you made the fatal mistake of picking up Harold the doll by his left arm, and now you were being affected by that mistake. Once you realized this, you show Zak that it was happening to you, too. However, you almost wish you hadn’t said anything as Zak instantly started becoming the protective, overprotective boyfriend.

“This has just gotten more sinister.” Zak states, looking back up at you.

“It has, but it was my mistake since I touched the doll first-“

“No, (Y/n). I’m not letting you take responsibility for this. I’m the one who brought you here when I should’ve had you stay home.”

“It’s not your fault, Zak. I wanted to come, that one is on me if anything. It was my mistake picking up Harold out of that case by the left arm before handing it to you.”

Zak still wasn’t having it.

“Be that as it may, (Y/n), I don’t think you should become part of this investigation. Had I known if you were going to get hurt, I wouldn’t have let you come along on this.”

You knew he meant well, but it was not what you wanted to hear. It’s not like you didn’t appreciate Zak’s concern for you, because you did.

“Zak, you have nothing to worry about. I promise I’m just fine and I will be fine. Please don’t pull me out of this investigation . Just as long as I’m with you, I’ll be fine. I’ll stay safe.”

Now you were trying to comfort him, pleasing him to allow you to come.

Zak only continues to follow the thought of the possibility of something happening to you either way. As he tries to talk you into staying behind, you don’t let him. Instead, you take that moment to remind Zak of a promise he made to you several months back.

“Remember you promised me that you’d let me experience an investigation as a birthday present? You can’t back down now.”

The look on Zak’s face told you he was reconsidering about pulling you out. Then, the look changes into a more serious one, one that was easy for you to read before he even says a word.

The look told you he was caving in and his defeated sigh is let out, telling you he was still a bit unsure.

“Okay, you’re absolutely right. You can still come but on one condition; do t try to wander off and explore on your own. You’re to stay right by my side, and if I find you missing, I’m sending you back to nerve center.”

“You have my word.”

Just whatever it takes, you didn’t care just as long as it meant you’d still be going on long waited adventure.

Knowing that Zak is still not entirely onboard with the idea of you going with him, you comfort him in anyway you could. During the boat ride, Zak was quieter than usual, you knew why and it’s because his fear of losing you or having something happening to you is much greater fear than his Pediophobia. Once you reach the island, it’s just you, Zak, and Aaron until the others make their arrival. Since they didn’t take the motorboat, it will take them a little longer to make it. As soon as the boat parked, you, Zak, and Aaron remain on the boat waiting for the rest of the crew to arrive. While in the meantime, you continue to be by Zak’s side.

As you wait, Zak is getting more spooked just by looking ahead of what awaits, what’s in store the island will have for everyone tonight?

“I don’t know if I want to step off this boat.” Zak admits.

“Yeah man, this creepy.” Aaron says.

“Do you want to turn the boat around?” you tease.

“Not funny, (Y/n).” Zak says.

You begin to scratch Zak’s back in a soothing way, an attempt to comfort him. You could tell he was nervous, and you were certain that bringing Harold the doll along doesn’t make it any easier.

By the time everyone had arrived, your comfort, comforting touches seemed to have done the job you wanted on Zak. It built up his confidence as he was more than ready to start the investigation.

He turns to you.

“Are you ready?”

“More than I’ll ever be.”

It was one heck of an investigation, and you got more than you bargained for. But you were glad to be a part of it, glad to get to experience this at last.

That was honestly nothing more than truest statement, and you meant it.

Oh, and you left the island without a scratch, much to Zak’s relief.

Stubborn — Zak Bagans x Reader

“Y/n, why don’t you go to the top floor of the Villisca Axe Murder house? Stay on the top of the stairs and stay there for about maybe ten minutes. If you feel anything beforehand, don’t hesitate to call for us,” Zak finished in a firm voice.

“On it,” y/n answered in an unusually cheerful voice that surprised everyone. Zak handed y/n some equipment, including an EMF reader and an EVP recorder. Y/n made her way halfway up the stair before she stopped and sat down.

“I have an EMF detector,” said the reader, “along with this EVP recorder. The EMF will record any electro-magnetic pockets that are said to be spirits, and the EVP recorder will record any voices that are not mine. So I’mma turn this on —” She quickly turned on the EVP “— And rolling.” She paused for a moment, the silence pressing in on her ears. She swallowed. “Why do you like to harm people here?” She paused. Are you the Reverend? Or are you something more sinister? Was the murderer possessed?” She paused. “Ending. Guys, I’m coming back down and we can listen to this recording session together,” y/n called through the Walkie Talkie the guys had her carry around.

“Be careful, y/n/n,” Zak answered as y/n began to climb down the stairs.

But as she does she feels something push her down the stairs. She yelps in surprise as she feels a force on her shoulder blades, and she tumbles down the stairs, landing painfully on her head at the final step, groaning. She can hear running footsteps coming towards her and she can faintly hear Zak’s voice from nearby.

“Oh, my God! Y/n! Are you alright?!”

“I’m fine,” y/n gasps in return as Zak tries to help her stand up. She winces and carefully presses her fingers to where she had landed on the back of her head.

“That looked like a painful fall, y/n,” Zak insisted. “You should go sit down.”

“Zak, I’m fine,” y/n insisted, though she winces slightly from the slight movement of her head. “Ow.”

“Nope. That’s it. You’re coming back to rest at nerve center. I can have someone else take your place.”

“Zak,” y/n whines as he pulls her from the ax murder house.

“Y/n/n,” Zak mimics. He then gives her a stern look, his voice suddenly serious again. “Really, y/n/n. You hit your head hard.”

“I’m not a baby.”

“I just don’t want you to get hurt, y/n/n. Please?”

The puppy dog eyes that Zak gives her makes y/n’s shoulders relax. A genuine smile forms on her lips. His large, warm hand fit perfectly in hers as he tries to tug her out of the house.

“Alright, Zak. You win.”

Zak carefully leads y/n over towards nerve center where the rest of the boys were waiting. Nick has an ice pack in his hands and he hands the pack over towards y/n. She takes it gratefully and presses the cold pack on the back of her head. A look of relief floods across her face.

“See? I told you that you’d feel better,” Zak teases. Y/n opens her eyes, scowling at Zak.

“Shut up, Zak.”

“Right,” Zak answers, looking slightly amused. He turns to Aaron. “Hey, Aaron. Wanna go finish y/n’s job in the house?”

Aaron sighs, looking defeated. He shakes his head momentarily.

“Fine. I’ll do it.”

“That’s the spirit.”

Island of The Dolls

Unless someone else besides yourself knew Zak as well as you do, no one would have ever guessed Zak was scared of flying.

It’s the one secret he never plans on sharing with the world, up until now, you and the crew were the only ones who knew of it. It was Zak’s best kept secret, until it was accidentally caught on camera and was aired for the world to see.

Unfortunately for Zak, he was going to have to suck it up and be brave sooner rather than later because the next investigation is going to be at the Island of The Dolls in Mexico City. Though it was a short flight, Zak can’t help but be as nervous as he was now. You were finding yourself boarding the plane, holding Zak’s hand, his hold becoming more firm by the minute.

By the time you reached your seats, you felt as though your hand Zak was holding was about to break. Aaron and Nick sat behind you both and when they noticed how nervous Zak was, they of course say something about it, unintentionally making it worse for him and that had you a bit fuming inside.

“You don’t have anything to worry about, dude. If we end up crashing, just be grateful it’s not a car wreck because they say you have a better, higher chance of surviving a plane crash than a car crash.” Aaron says.

Right as he said that, the plane had hit some turbulence and shook, making Zak even more nervous and anxious than before. That left you a bit snippy.

“Aaron, for the love of god, stop talking!” Zak spats.

“How is that what you just said, supposed to be anymore reassuring?” you snap at Aaron.

“Because it’s true. I haven’t seen it for myself, but I know someone who has been through and survived a plane crash. They told me that if it had been a car crash, they may not have lived to tell the tale.” Nick says.

“Don’t say that! Don’t tell me things like that when we’re already 2,000 feet up.” Zak spats.

“Seriously, you guys aren’t helping. You’re only making it worse by talking.” you say.

That being said, you turn your focus back on Zak, beginning to comfort him.

You let him continue to hold your hand as you speak to him while Aaron and Nick remained silent. As you talk to Zak, you’re able to get him to crack a small smile.

“I can’t believe how much more flying seems to scare you more than dolls. Because in your case, I know your unique fear of dolls altogether and I know for myself that I would be more afraid of dolls than of flying. But don’t worry, as long as you’re with me, nothing is going to happen. The worst thing that could happen is we hit more turbulence and we have already done that, and we lived so we can tell the tale.” you squeeze his hand in reassurance as he seems to be a little more relaxed now.

The rest of the flight had gone smoothly, and before you know it, the plane had made it and landed at your destination in Mexico City, landing safely on the ground.

“Thank god we made it all in one piece.” Zak says.

“I told you everything would be okay as long as you’re with me.”

“I know, and you were absolutely right.”

Zak couldn’t be anymore right. Because not only were you there for him on the plane, but you continued to stay by his side after you got off the plane.

Knowing you would be there for him again, to hold his hand, he was already feeling more calm and at ease about the flight home. Being the protective boyfriend Zak was, he wouldn’t allow you to follow him on the investigation on the Island of The Dolls. So you stayed behind at nerve center, and it was just as creepy watching from a screen as it would be if you were to actually step foot on the Island. Zak told you to stay behind on this one, you did begin to protest just before he said that he wouldn’t have any of it.

What got you to eventually agree and follow through his wishes was what he says after while you try to protest.

“I’m always safe when I’m with you, (Y/n). I know that. But I don’t want anything to happen to you if you come with me. I’m doing this to keep you safe.”

Because you wanted Zak to have somewhat of a peace of mind while doing this investigation, you cave in and agree to stay at nerve center.

You learned something new about Zak in that moment and that was he had a new fear. Well, it was new to you because this never crossed over until now. The fear was much bigger than his fear of flying on planes, and that fear was losing you.

Not only losing you, but to have anything bad happen to you.
