historically, sirens were creature half bird half woman, flying above the sky and living near water, alluring men to their death with a song that told of ancient secrets and dark knowledge.

time passes and sirens began to assume another physical form, that which we all are familiar with: half fish, half woman. the two tails mermaid was carved on walls of sacred places, a symbol who spoke to humanity about the old faiths and goddess religions in pagan times. (even though, christianity wanted to use them as a warning from the sins of the flesh).

with time, mermaids and sirens became interchangeable in their essence, uniting themselves in one unique symbol in the human psyche.

the passage from air to water is not without reason, for air and water are of the same core, just in different form. both are the realm of the ancient goddess, who fly up in the sky - the heaven - and who dive deep into the sea - the underworld. everything is her realm, everything is her creation, through which she roams free and wild, uncaring for human laws of right and wrong.

we too, as her children, live time of light and darkenss; the underworld calls to us, like the sirens, singing to bring death to our ego, making as crash on the shore. the storm arrives, it destroys us, it becomes the mirror of our darkest secrets. like the goddess who travels into the darkness to die and rebirth, so do our souls. we are called to death.

only when we let ourselves die, wings grow behind our back. water becomes air again, letting us breath. calling the breath of life, who flows new into our veins, who fertilize our minds with new ideas of who we are, who we are to become. a deep existential understanding takes place in our core, making us grow as human beings. psyche is renewed.

alchemy is the law of this universe: everything must transform, everything must not stay the same. between life and death, phsyical or metaphorical, we as children of the goddess must live. 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚, 𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 - they call to us, like sirens of human psyche. they crash us when we dont listen, they destroy us when we fight them. energy must change and so must we.
