so the currently most popular show in the world said “here is a gay character. he has powers but the only way to unlock them is for him to fully accept his queerness. by embracing his traits that make him be seen as weak (and makes himself feel like a mistake), he will only come out stronger than ever.” and i just have to sit tf down, and let that sink in. because, no, they really did that. they said “hey world, embracing queerness saves lives, got it?” not only was the cinematography beautiful, the message behind it was necessary
