Ask a brutally personal and/or awkward question for my muse to answer absolutely honestly
âYou say that like itâs fucking easy.â
âCash, come on. It used to be. Why canât it be easy anymore?â
@dizzyliz: did I write this https://goo.gl/EpiQxO
âYeah? And how the fuck am I supposed to believe that?â
âTrust me?â
Contemplating for a moment, he allowed her to open the door, only to hide behind the wall. âDo you know itâs me?â
Balling her hands into fists, Lizzie didnât waste time, stepping towards him with a burst of energy and pummeling his chest. âHow could you have let Han skip school? I specifically told you not to do that. Why did you do that? Is it because I told you not to, are you mad at me or something? Jesus fuck, Parker, Iâm his mom, I fucking trusted you. You canât just make your own decisions when it concerns him, heâs my son.â And his, but she conveniently left that bit out.
Parker had a distinct feeling that not taking Han to class could bring consequences â and of course while he had planned on taking him, knowing that bullying seemed to be the issue at hand for the boy, Parker empathized a little too much, and admittedly stepped in when he probably shouldnât have. It wasnât like it was his kid. But⌠he was a part of Lizzie. Which made it a default that Parker liked the kid to begin with. Trying to rest his eyes after a night without sleep, he heard a voice, at first thinking it was his landlord high pressuring him to pay his rent â he was relieved upon realizing it was Lizzie. Sighing, he stood up and opened it slowly. âParkerâs not here right now. But if youâd like to leave a message he could get it in two to three months.â
âParker, come on, I know itâs you.â Lizzie sighed, prying her hands to open the door further.
â video games? canât really help there, how âbout fast cars? maybe we can take âem to the track? work with me here, trying to be helpful. â
âYeah, that could be fun.â
âActually â yeah. Iâm not down with that shit.â
âHey...â Lizzie started, her voice soft. âThatâs not gonna happen.â
â we could like,  take your devil to the park or something, do they eâen like parks ânymore? â
âWell, heâs six, so heâs really more infatuated with video games at the moment.â
âThanks, babe, youâre a peach.â Risa shot her a friendly glance as she punched the location in the GPS, quickly steering out onto the street. âSo, you a teacher? Or, who knows, youâre not repeatinâ fourth grade for the sixtieth time, are ya? And sorry about runninâ my mouth, but you look like you donât mind and my radioâs broken anyway. Bear with me.â
âNo, I donât mind. Are you from around here? I donât think weâve met before.â Lizzie asked, noting the other girlâs accent. âUh -- actually, I have a son that goes there. Iâm just a waitress.â
â donât be such a wuss, itâs never tooârly to start âem upp, we can bring the devil along if you want. â
âReally, I wish I could. But Iâm just not as cool as I used to be. Have fun, though.â
âYeah, I know I wasnât what you were expecting. My feet donât reach the pedals without a stupid fuckinâ booster beneath my ass âcause nobody added adjustable pedals to this vehicle and I ainât made of money. Now deal.â Risa waved off the passenger before they could say anything first. With a sigh, she steered the subject into a new course, âSo, you gonna tell me where youâre gonna go?â
âNo, no, believe me, Iâm just so thankful you got here fast, my car is usually more reliable than this.â Lizzie said, her face stuck in a worrisome grimace. âOh, um -- yeah. Sunset Park Elementary School? Itâs on Alabama Avenue.â
â  useless motherfucker, thatâs what she called me. i told her, iâm sorry, but these things happen. letâs put it behind us. âŚbut then she finds out iâve bought a ticket for iggy pop the same night. and guess what? she went ballistic. big time. absolutely fucking nuts. itâs me or iggy pop, time to decide. she says. and well⌠iâve paid for the ticket.  â
âWow, you have to speak slower than that, I am mind-bogglingly drunk right now.â
âYou know what I would love right now? Sushi. Do you know what I donât have right now? Sushi and thatâs an unfortunate thing.â
âThereâs a pretty okay place down the road.â
âTo be fair with you, the waves oâer thereâre quite the disaster waiting to happen,â Chayce explained, his finger tracing over a small part of the map laid out in front of them, âBut it was definitely a gnarly experience, if youâre in we can hit it up next weekend maybe, get the jet and go?â
âOh, sorry, no can do. Mommy duties, you know how it is.â
âIf youâre asking my permission to tell him â permission not granted.â
âWhy not? Are you worried weâre gonna run off into the sunset together?â She said, jokingly.
