Sofia Coppola's film 'The Bling Ring', about stealing clothes, reminds me of a story, many years ago. A collection of a major Italian fashion house was stolen from the showroom. There were rumours that it was an insurance scam - as the collection was not selling. The following season, after another dubious collection, I wrote, "You couldn't pay anyone to steal this lot." This week we celebrate Yves Saint Laurent. August 1 1936 - June 1 2008. His last show in 2002 proved that he was the first. In everything.
