I haven't painted for several months. I did this as a bit of a warm-up and also as a challenge to allow watercolor to be it's unpredictable self. So, this is my first painting of 2016.

I've had Sweeney Todd on my mind since seeing SF Opera's production last Saturday. Here's my Benjamin Barker. 🔪😱 #benjaminbarker #sweeneytodd
Some quick poses for Bird that I did last year... This is pretty much where the character is now.

Yes, I'm still working on a game called Luna! It's coming along nicely and it is evolving quite beautifully... I recently found my first character explorations for Bird... Feels like such a long time ago. @funomena #lunagame

I've been working on a little personal project lately but have been reluctant to share too much since I'm hoping I can bring it to you someday in its final state. Mostly, I've been posting margin sketches here and there and I will continue to do so as much as I can. This is just a little test/sample I painted up today to get a better idea of technique/style. The only thing it reveals about my project is that it has to do with my cultural heritage. Ever since I met and fell in love with my future wife @vanielivier , I've slowly begun to look into my family history (she's Mexican I'm Guatemalan). The exploration was prompted not so much by the differences we have in our cultures but by the values we share having been raised in large Latino families. Her family adopted me and I fell in with them comfortably; it was something I had been missing from my life since I moved away from my own tribe when I was 10. But that got me thinking about the familial relationships I've had and how they've been colored by my cultural background; the culture clashes, the traditions etc. Anyway, I'm exploring some stories and maybe one day I'll be able to share them with you :). For now, here is a little Quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala. I'll still continue to do LOTR stuff because I'm a hopeless nerd for Tolkien, but this project is a little more personal and from the heart. Thank you so much again for your support! 👍🏼
