Jewish people are an ethno-religious group. I can’t believe I have to say this, even fucking wikipedia will tell you this much right away. I have to say, I’m impressed with whatwhiteswillneverknow’s ability to cite wikipedia when it’s convenient, but to ignore it when it’s not. Jewish people in the US make up 62.4% percent of anti religious hate crime victims. So even if you wanna be disingenuous and claim that “it’s just a religion!” crap, I’d say that’s a pretty horrific figure either way, wouldn’t you?
The global Jewish population was about 17 million before the Holocaust. Estimates for current global population range from 13.3 million 13.9 million. It’s been SEVENTY YEARS, and the Jewish population has not recovered to pre-Holocaust levels yet.
"Jewish people control everything" is a common anti Semitic myth. And honestly, think about what is being said here. Think hard. Do you honestly think Jewish people had the fucking power to just get some land handed over? You’d think if they had so much damn control, they would have used it to PREVENT THEIR OWN GENOCIDE.
Don’t let the Allies version of the story get to you - they were happy to let fleeing Jewish refugees be turned away to die at first. The Holocaust is not remembered because they give a shit about Jewish people, it’s remembered because countries like the US got to play hero. And in the end, they STILL didn’t want Jewish people in their countries! And no, I don’t think it was right to take away the Palestinians’ land - but let’s not pretend Jewish people were in a position of power and control here.
Honestly, how fucking disgusting is it to act like it’s somehow WRONG to want the MASSIVE GENOCIDE PERPETUATED AGAINST YOUR PEOPLE to be recognized? What the hell? Why the fuck SHOULDN’T we sympathize with the Jewish (AND ROMANI) people who were slaughtered? What in the hell is wrong with curvesincolor and whatwhiteswillneverknow, to be acting like this is a bad thing?
Curvesincolor’s original argument was that victims of the slave trade and their descendants did not get reparations. But what does this have to do with Holocaust survivors? Why are these things being compared? What is the relation here? The US has plenty of money to start unnecessary wars, they certainly can get the money for reparations here. They didn’t bother because they didn’t want to, not because EUROPEAN nations paid out reparations to SOME Jewish people. There is no connection between these events.
The line in “All about the Benjamins” was anti-Semitic. For one thing, you don’t go around calling people “Hebrews”, because it’s incorrect and disrespectful. For another, “Jewish people are greedy and have all the money” is ANOTHER anti-Semitic myth. When I say “anti Semitic myth”, I need you to understand that this is not something that merely hurts feelings. I mean it’s dangerous. It’s gotten Jewish people murdered. It goes back to the 17th century, when Christians had barred Jewish people from most professions, forcing them into jobs like moneylending, which Christians were barred religiously from doing because they weren’t allowed to collect interest. So Jewish people took up those jobs, and other jobs involving money, and were promptly accused of greed and of money hoarding. And attitudes like that - that Jewish people were taking over, that they had all the wealth that they “cheated” from the good hardworking Christian WHITE people - fueled the Holocaust.
And yet curvesincolor is happy to continue to spread the lie, to act like anti Semitic violence is excusable, and to talk over both “White” Jewish people (hint: unless they were White and converted, they’re probably not. It’s called conditional Whiteness, which isn’t quite like being White passing but quite similar) and brown and Black Jewish people. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that people are calling curvesincolor a nazi because they fucking sound like one.
