Jackson Lewis. One of the biggest names in music. Everywhere you look you see his name and face. TV, magazines, TikTok, everywhere. He was currently on one of his biggest tours yet and was in his hometown of New York City. The show went perfect and on his way out to his car he stopped to meet some of his fans who had waited hours while he cleaned up and got ready to leave. Just as he was about to leave he looked up at the last fan waiting and paused.

“…hi…” he said softly, a little lost for words as he looking into the most beautiful eyes he’d ever seen.

Emerald walked up to the apartment and knocked on the door. She looks to the pit bull standing next to her with a look of happiness on his face. His grey fur marked with cuts and patches of missing fur. Emerald was hoping Magnus could help the dog.

Magnus opened the door and smiled when he saw Emerald. “Em-…what is that?” He asked when he noticed the dog.

“I can pop over to the apartment too. See what I can grab that could be salavaged.” He paused and looked towards Emerald’s room. “She had been talking about redecorating that place…how it was really feeling like home for her…”

He sighed and leaned into the warlock. “Will she ever catch a break Magnus?”

He wrapped his arms around him and sighed. “She will….she’s a strong girl….strong people have to go through a lot before they can relax…” He said softly. “.. She’ll be okay.”

Garret glances to Magnus. “Are you telling me? Or reassuring yourself?”

He sighed. "....a little bit of both." He whispered and hugged him tighter. "...let's go check on our girl."

Garret set the cat next to him on the couch for now, and stood up face his parabatai. “I figured you would need a few things. It’s not much,” he said picking up the bag, “but these are some of your things you’ve left at my apartment. I don’t know how much you were going to be able to salvage.”

“Thanks Garret…” Emerald took the bag and looked at them. “I’m gonna…I’ll go out these in my room. I’ll be back down.” She then left to her room, Blue following close behind.

Garret watched her leave, then looked back to the kitchen. He walked up to his boyfriend and kissed his cheek from behind. “How bad was it?” He asked.

Magnus sighed and turned to look at him. “..bad…I’m not going to be able to save much…if anything.” He hugged him. “she’s going to really need us for a while.” He whispered.

“It was really that destroyed?” Garret sighed and leaned against the counter in shock, “I brought some clothes over, but I’m guessing she’s gonna need more.”

He nodded sadly. “I’m going to go look again later.” He sighed. “I’ll buy her anything she needs. But she’s not going to want to go shopping any time soon I’m guessing.”

Garret sighs and shakes his head. “Like she hasn’t gone through enough already…” he looks back to Magnus and takes his hand, “Do you mind if I stay, just so she has two people here?”

He smiled gently at him. "you know I never mind you staying." He leaned in and kissed his cheek.

Senior year. Emerson woke up and started getting ready for the first day of school, not nearly as excited as his sister who would be starting her freshman year. He went through the motions of letting his mom take first day pictures before finally making his way to campus. He had just dropped his sister if at her first class when he turned and bumped into someone. He blushed and smiled sheepishly when he saw Emerald. “sorry…” He said shyly.

Her attitude softened when he kissed the top of her head. “Could we just order pizza tonight?” She asks, following him out.

“No. He said he fell.” Emerald didn’t totally believe it herself, but she couldn’t think of a reason for Emerson to lie to her.

Magnus frowned. “Why don’t I believe that?” He mumbled. “….if you really like him and he makes you happy…I’ll try to go easy on him….but if he ever does something to hurt you….” He didn’t need to finish his sentence.

“Why are you always so overprotective? I can take care of myself, you know.” She didn’t mean to give an attitude, it just kind of came out that way.

He pulled up to the apartment and stopped the car. "I know you can take care of yourself. But so can I. And I always will." He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "What do you want for dinner?" He asked as he got out of the car.

She gets inside the car and buckles up.

Emerson ran his hand through his hair and waved goodbye as he watched her get in the car. “Bye..” he said softly. He sighed when they left and started walking home. He had a big smile on his face though….he had a girlfriend….and she was amazing.

“Do you have to intimidate every guy I’m with?” Emerald asks her father as they drive away.

“Of course. Is that even a real question?” He looked over at her. “So that’s why you’ve been practicing sign language huh?”

He smirked. "So what's so special about this one? And why shouldn't I give him a hard time?"

"Mayor ruffles was working out today..." Chair mewled softly, "he has big muscles."

Magnus smirked and looked over at him. "oh yeah? Did you tell him you admired them?" He teased.

"I wanna meet Peter Pan."

Magnus put his book down and looked at chairman. “..why?” He laughed a little.

Chair blushed a bit as he fiddled with his shirt, “he’s cute…”

He laughed and looked at him, amused. “.. which movie did you watch?”

He wandered over to the coffee table and held up the DVD case for the first animated film of Peter Pan. “This one!”

He smiled. "what do you like about him?" He asked.

"I wanna meet Peter Pan."

Magnus put his book down and looked at chairman. “..why?” He laughed a little.

Chair blushed a bit as he fiddled with his shirt, “he’s cute…”

He laughed and looked at him, amused. ".. which movie did you watch?"

"Daddy, after conducting a series of tests I have concluded that our home is haunted." Chair seriously, carrying a heavy flashlight. "But it's okay I'll protect you from them!"

Magnus looked at him and tried not to laugh. “oh really? What tests did you do?” He asked curiously.

“And you’re not a ghost cause I can hug you.” He hummed, “I’ll have to do the backup test!”

He smiled and kissed his head. "okay baby." He smiled.

"Daddy, after conducting a series of tests I have concluded that our home is haunted." Chair seriously, carrying a heavy flashlight. "But it's okay I'll protect you from them!"

Magnus looked at him and tried not to laugh. “oh really? What tests did you do?” He asked curiously.

“I put a plate of cookies in front of my door last night daddy, and now it’s gone!” He said with a small nod as if he made up his little mind. “A ghost had to have taken it.”

He blinked his eyes slowly, Chair never considered that possibility. “Did you eat em’ daddy?”
