“Hi, I'm Becci and I've been making up stories since I could hold a pen. The first dated record I have of a fanfiction goes back to 2005, which is usually the point I count as my beginning. That means I was the tender age of nine when I started my temporarily toxic, on-off relationship with fanfic - marked by embarrassing first steps, year-long hiatuses and hyper-productive phases.
2019 - the year I was introduced to the Marvel universe - marks the point where I started considering myself an author, rather than just a writer. That's when I began producing stories that were actually readable (and fairly enjoyable, too, if I dare say so).
To me, the best part of the Good Omens fandom (apart from the people, of course) is the plethora of versions of our favourite hereditary enemies. My highest achievement as an author is when someone revisits the source material and can never get through a scene again without thinking about one of my stories. Good Omens, by definition, offers an incredibly wide range for canon-adjacent storytelling. Since they've lived through literally all of human history, there are endless gaps to fill. (Yes, those gaps, too. Especially those gaps. I see you, horny fandom.) Plus, I'm a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope and who embodies that better than an angel and a demon falling in love?
Also this is the spiciest fandom I've been in so far and I'm having a fucking blast providing y'all with smut 😁 ”
Oooh we love every morsel of it too, Becci😏😁
If you are a first-time reader of Becci's work, or are looking for some recommended reads, here’s some suggestions from the author:
Not A One-Night Stand: Remember what I said about intertwining canon with fanon? This is exactly that. It's an ongoing series about them fucking while pining for 6000 years. We start with Job's cellar and go all the way until season 3. Six parts are currently up, lots more to come. All canon-compliant, highly explicit, and I promise you, you'll never watch the show the same way again 🙂
The Very First Page: A Crowley-centric one-shot set before Creation. It's almost Crowley-exclusive which probably explains why it never got as much traction. But if you're into evocative prose, angel!Crowley and star-maker imagery, I consider this one of my strongest pieces.
You can find these and all of Becci’s other works on AO3

anna_sun/Clo (she/her) is a prolific writer for the Good Omens fandom, having more than 40 works posted (and more to come). She started writing at an early age, but after a short break, the creativity was retriggered courtesy of two ethereal beings who graced our screens and never let go of Clo’s heart. Keep reading to learn more about what inspires all of Clo’s charming creations.
Clo shares a little bit about her life outside of Good Omens - plus she gives us some insight to her online handle (for those who may be curious):
“Hello hello hello! My name’s Chloé (or Clo) and I was born and raised in Québec, Canada, which is where I still reside. I’m currently renting a house with my best friend on the south shore of Montréal. But if my name's Chloé, why "anna_sun"? Well, Anna Sun by Walk the Moon was my favorite song at the time I made my AO3 account (in 2014. Yes, I was fifteen. No, we won’t talk about that). But “Anna Sun” is a favorite in my playlist to this day.
I work at a college library (not a librarian, just plain admin support, lol) and I really love it. I’m not sure what I want to do career-wise, but I might get my Master’s in English Lit or Information Science in the near future. TBD.
My hobbies and interests have been closely related to fandom ever since I was a teen. AKA, a whole lot of reading and writing and shipping. Other than that, I mean… I taught myself how to ride a skateboard a few years ago, had a fall, twisted my ankle, and never picked up a skateboard again. That pretty much sums up who I am as a person. I’m not very athletic or adventurous or anything, but I do love a nice hike or a short camping trip (emphasis on short, LOL).”
Glad you are OK after the fall! 😌 But super happy about all the fandom focus! 🥳 Which brings us to the next question - how exactly did Clo find out about our beloved ineffables?
“I think Prime just suggested it on my home page??? It’s all a bit of a blur. I was looking for something to watch and thought “huh, this looks like fun.” And INDEED, it was! I never even knew it existed before. It opened up a WHOLE new world. Even got me to start watching Doctor Who right after, because of course I immediately needed more DT in my life.
S2 had been out for a while already when I started watching, but I had no clue about the Final Fifteen. And I wrote my first fic for GO before I even finished my first watch, LOL. Can you imagine my fucking delight (and simultaneous heartbreak) when I realized they were PROPER canon? Ahhhhhhhhh!!
AND finding GO got me out of my 8-year hiatus. I hadn’t written a (creative) thing in forever. I’m very grateful for it.”
It is incredible how Good Omens (and of course, Mr. Tennant) brought the spark of creativity to many of its fans!! And Clo had a few other influences that fueled her imagination 😋:
“Honestly, probably hormones LMAO, but also mainly “for shits and giggles.” I was writing stories long before I started posting them online, just for me and some of my closest friends.
It wasn’t always smut but I’ve been reading smut for a looooong time, so I eventually moved on to writing my own stuff. Write the smut you want to see in the world. You get it, wink wink. (For instance, I have one B99 fic where I literally say in my Author’s Note: “I read all of the porn in the Jake/Amy tag and I wanted more so I decided to write some lmao.”)
But I’ve also written a few poetic-ish pieces I’m very proud of. I swear I’m not JUST a horndog. And, no matter what, there will ALWAYS be fluff. ALWAYS.”
Fluff is the stuff of life (and smut - we need that too 😏😂) On that note, Clo describes a few of her favorite writing tropes that she weaves into her stories:
“Porn with Feelings is an obvious one. Mostly it’s because I like to write about intimacy. I think there’s a huge difference between a kink fic just for the sake of kink, and a smut fic that dives deep into the characters’ thoughts/feelings. Both types serve their purpose, of course, but the latter is truly my personal favorite. Some of the best smut I’ve ever read has made me CRY because it was so beautifully intimate, and I love that.
I like humor, especially a slightly ridiculous premise that lends itself to a fun time for both me and my readers.
Not exactly Love at First Sight but I do LOVE a good fast pace, dizzying romance, especially for Human AUs. Getting Together fics that end with the blooming stage of the characters’ love story.
As for big, overarching themes? Self love and self worth. Getting over insecurities. Honesty and communication. You won’t find a lot of misunderstandings causing conflicts in my work—everything always gets resolved pretty quickly.”
Oooh those are all excellent themes! You can keep up with all of Clo’s works on AO3 - though you may find her lurking on a few other socials (links shared at the end of this post):
“I’m backsails on reddit, goannasun on tumblr, but I’m not super active on either of these platforms. You won’t find anything more than what’s on AO3, lol.”
When you visit Clo’s page, you’ll find a plethora of works to enjoy. Our readers had this question:
✨✨What's your favorite thing you've written?
“Stagger My Heart. 21k, E rated, Alternate Universe - Mythology.
Aziraphale is a pretty forest nymph. Crowley is a hunter who catches him bathing. Basically Strangers to Friends to Lovers.
This will always be the one that stands out for me. It’s not my most popular, and it wasn’t even beta’ed so it would probably benefit from some editing, but it was a real labor of love. Maybe that’s why it’s my favorite. I had such a clear vision of how I wanted the story to FEEL, and I’m very happy with the result. It’s beautiful, it’s emotional, it’s hot. It’s got it all.”
Definitely check this one out!!! And of course, if there was ever ANY doubt about who Clo is obsessed with from the GO world😇😈 …
“I basically only have eyes for Aziraphale and Crowley. Sorry not sorry. But I have a good mix of AUs and Canon stuff, although I'm slowly starting to write more AUs than anything else.
When I include other pairings in my works, they are background more than anything. I do have a soft spot for Muriel/Eric but I don’t think I’d ever write it.”
Muriel and Eric are too adorable!! 🥰 And we’re sure you would do fine if you ever decide to write for them!! But of course, many of us do LOVE our Ineffable Duo. One of our followers wanted to understand more about Clo’s writing of their characters:
✨✨Across the range of your own fics, what do you feel are the core qualities to your Crowleys and Aziraphales that ensures them of feeling in-character in your works?
“That’s such a great question!!
Aziraphale is always a bit of a bastard, because that’s how I know and love him to be. He keeps Crowley on his toes. He often has underlying insecurities, but I like him to be overall confident. He’s witty, a bit smug, but ultimately, he’s soft and kindhearted.
My Crowley is… often flustered, and always smitten with Aziraphale. I love him when he’s grumpy in a likeable way, but also when he’s a shameless flirt. He’s the type to make a crass joke and bark a laugh, but also the type to say something incredibly fucking sweet out of the nowhere. He’s a cuddler. He’s a menace. And he’s hilarious.
But, honestly, it’s not always about who they are individually for me, but mainly about their dynamic. That’s what makes them recognizable. Their back-and-forth, their longing, their love.”
We LOVE how much love they have for each other!!! And Clo is not running short on ideas for them anytime soon. We asked her if she had any more works in progress…
“ooooooooooo boi, yes!
I mean, I’m not the type to juggle multiple WIPs. I used to write, post, write, post… because all I wrote were one shots. It’s when I started writing longer works, with chapters, that the WIPs really started to add up.
I currently have 3 big WIPs. One’s an angsty longfic (very unusual for me, and will take forever to write), one’s a Childhood Friends to Lovers story, and the last one is an AU heavily inspired by Ella Enchanted.”
Ooooh! Ella Enchanted!! Can we see? Can we see? (thank you for sharing, Clo!!!!)
[Here’s a] preview from my ELLA ENCHANTED AU, cause it’s the most fun:
“My, my.” Aziraphale licked his lips, savouring the sight of Crowley’s blush darkening the highest points of his cheeks. The blush could have meant a few different things, but the evening had been so pleasant so far, so filled with good conversation and laughter, the energy between them so magnetic, that Aziraphale felt bolder than usual. “I didn’t think the prince could be so easily flustered.”
[...]
“Flustered? Me? M’not flustered.” Crowley said, only stuttering a little. “I’m just…”
“Distracted. Right.” Aziraphale giggled, shaking his head in amusement. “And tired as well, I suppose?”
“Yep. Bit drunk, too. So that explains that, doesn’t it?”
“Mmh. Of course.”
How strangely entertaining, to blatantly lie to one another and pretend to accept these lies as truths. How bizarrely exciting, to flirt between the lines of what is being said, knowing that what mattered weren’t the words themselves but the way they were said. Crowley asserting that he was not flustered was the last thing he should’ve said if he wanted Aziraphale to believe him. And Aziraphale saying of course with a proud, cheeky smile was the best way to react if he wanted to make sure Crowley knew he did not, in fact, believe him.
“Right, well, s’pr’bly time for bed, huh?” Crowley grumbled after a while of silence, wobbly on his legs when he stood up. It made Aziraphale jump up to help him find his balance, holding him by the shoulders in a steadying grip. He tried not to let his thumb wander with a mind of his own, he really did—he tried hard not to seek the soft skin visible above Crowley’s collarbone—but before he knew it he was making contact, and his heart promptly skipped a few beats.
The earth might also have stopped spinning, or maybe time itself came to a halt—as if the entire universe was holding its breath, waiting to see what was going to happen now.
But nothing happened. Nothing except for shy smiles, panicked blinking, and a few stifled, measured breaths.”
*swoon* This sounds sooo good!! 😍 With all these stories that Clo shares, are there any other hidden talents that she gives back to the fandom?
“Nope, I’m a certified one trick pony. I do get ideas for fanvids sometimes but never bother trying to execute them. They just play randomly in my head when I’m listening to music.”
It’s so very true as many (or all) of us know - EVERY SONG we hear now is about them!!!! That’s all a part of becoming ineffably obsessed! But as much as we hyperfixate on GO, inquiring minds are curious if there are other fandoms that Clo might be interested in:
“At the moment? Not really. I’m fully focused on GO.
But the last fandom I was REALLY into was Black Sails. I can’t recommend that show enough. It doesn’t have the whimsical aspects of GO, but as far as queer love stories go, it takes the cake for me (and yes, CANON queer characterS, PLURAL). 4 seasons of great writing and many, many, many characters to root for. Good balance of plot elements, of twists, of romance, and of character growth. It’s so good! In fact I’m thinking of rewatching it soon.”
Black Sails is right up any pirate-lovers street!!
As we wrap up this lovely interview with Clo, she leaves us with some phenomenal and helpful words for all those who might give in to the temptation and have a go at writing their own tales🤗 :
“The obvious: Keep writing. And write the things you want to read. Do it for FUN. It’s hard not to care about stats but it’s useless to focus on them. If you’re not having fun, what’s the point?
For aspiring authors: Start small. Come up with a simple premise, one setting, one scene. A conversation, a confession, a first kiss, whatever. Find the details you want to focus on as you imagine the scene unfolding. Make it neat. And don’t forget to be proud of it.
I also think fanfics are such a great starting point for authors. The characters are there, the dynamic is established. You can easily pick a scene from canon and build on it. I wrote my first GO fic immediately after watching that “shades of grey” conversation in S2. I had ideas for how the scene could’ve gone and they simply demanded to be written!
Finally, for anyone: Be open to finding inspiration anywhere. My ideas usually come to me in the form of a single line of dialogue, or a random line of prose. “No Food in the Library” is literally a poster on the wall where I work. I started writing “A Time and a Place” with a single thought in mind: Crowley wanks in the back office of the bookshop because he’s sexually frustrated… and everything else flowed from there. “Experiments in Kissing” was inspired by my own experiences, and mostly because I thought: Wouldn’t it be fun for them to start making out whenever they’re bored, just because? These three fics are some of my favorite fics I’ve ever written. They did not require ten hours of brainstorming and outlining. I was just having pure, honest fun.”
Clo, it’s been so much fun hosting you this week!! Thank you for all your works and all the love you give back to this wonderful fandom!! You are a treasure ☺️❤️
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to YAP about myself/my works <3 Thank you!”
Here's some links where you can continue to follow anna_sun:
“Heyyo! I’m anna_sun on AO3, but all my friends call me Clo (you can probably guess what my real name is! Hint: it’s also a perfume name). I’m a 27yo French Canadian cisgender lesbian. I have a Bachelor’s in English Literature from Concordia (is it too much of a brag if I say I graduated with honors?) and I currently work as an admin agent at an academic library, which I love :)
I’ve been writing fanfic since I was 13 years old, but I started posting on AO3 when I was around 16. I’ve dabbled in many fandoms. I’d stopped writing/posting in 2018, but finding Good Omens in 2024 gave me my spark back. It’s been such a blessing! I’d forgotten just how much I love writing, and Ineffable Husbands is my favorite ship to date (dare I say, my OTP). I have 45 GO fics to my name so far, most of which were written in a hyperfixation state! LOL.
The GO fandom itself gave me a lovely community, as well as friends I cherish. It’s also chock-full of talented, kind hearted, hilarious people. What’s not to love? Don’t ask me to pick a favorite part, I beg you.
I love to write one-shots and I’m a smut writer at heart, although I generally aim for Sex with Feelings. Flustered Crowley and Soft Dom Aziraphale are my jam. Love a good fluff fest, too! And I can be (kind of) really f**king funny, at least I think.
If you check out my works: I truly hope you like what you find! ♥️”
That’s exactly what we’ll be doing this week 😍😍
If you are a first-time reader of anna_sun's work, or are looking for some recommended reads, here’s some suggestions from the author:
A Time and a Place: Explicit, One Shot, Fluff and Humor. Really shows you what I’m all about when it comes to smut. Plus it’s got lovely symmetry! I’m very proud of it 🙂
A Collab to Change Your Life: My latest multichapter fic. It’s still short, since it’s only 4 chapters long. Explicit, ALL fluff, Youtuber AU. Gives you a taste of how I handle plot elements, and has been very well received by readers so far 🙂
You can find these and all of anna_sun’s other works on AO3

Serenity_Black (she/any) has been writing fanfiction since she was very young, but fell into a dry spell from creating for a while. Then after finding a pair of lovable ethereal beings, Serenity_Black’s love of writing was reignited, further strengthened by an ineffable fandom who welcomed her in and brought incredible encouragement. Keep reading to learn more about her ideations into our beloved Good Omens world.
Serenity_Black has some major upcoming plans in her personal life, but always manages to find time for many other activities when not writing about Good Omens:
“I'm currently in America in Kansas, but will be moving to the East Coast later this year. I'm eyeing the UK for a future move though cause I've always wanted to explore other countries. When I'm not writing I do art, game, stream on TikTok, or I work lol. I'm a pretty simple person who spends most of her free time online with her friends.”
The Good Omens series has been available to view over the last several years, but Serenity_Black didn’t latch on to it immediately…for reasons 😁
“I was aware of Good Omens through ads I saw on Amazon. It 100% looked like something I could enjoy and obsess over. However, I didn't have time for another hyperfixation so I intentionally avoided it! XD When season two dropped I was in a better space and was like 'Sure, I have time!' And I watched the first episode, then the 2nd...then the 3rd and next thing I knew it was 6am and S1 was done xD I've been obsessed ever since!”
This show has SUCH a pull once you dive in - and for Serenity_Black, it did more than just generate a place in her heart for a certain angel and demon:
“Good Omens [was my inspiration to create]. I hadn't been able to write anything, let alone Fanfiction, in 10 years and as soon as the final 15 ended I sat there with all these theories and needed an outlet. I ordered a Bluetooth keyboard from Amazon 3 days later because I was running out of paper. Bought a whiteboard and got to work xD”
That’s absolutely incredible and we are so fortunate that it brought you into the GO fold!!
And if it isn’t pretty obvious by now, we’ll share Serenity_Black’s answer to the one question that we ask all of our writers about who is their favorite pairing😇😈:
“Aziracrow lol I haven't written for any of the others to be honest. I love our Ineffable idiots.”
They really are so inspiring, aren’t they? 🥹 A romance for the universe!! 🥰
Now as you may or may not know, not all of Serenity_Black’s stories are for the faint of heart, as she describes some of her preferred writing themes:
“>.>...<.<... I write smut, angst, whump, and very dark themes. One tag I use a lot is Dead Dove, because when I put a tag I mean that tag and I need people to take them seriously for their own sake. Tags I put aren't just touched on, it's explored in unapologetic detail and I want readers to know that.”
Thanks for the precautions - and the reminder that tags are important!!! And on that note, you may have discovered that Serenity_Black has one other fandom that she is particularly fond of writing in:
“Hannibal NBC! I write the murder husband's cause they allow my smut to get very dark lol”
Indeed! Be sure to check out Serenity_Black’s catalog of works on all of her socials (all links shared at the end of this post):
“I'm mostly on Tumblr and AO3, and while I have a Bluesky, I need to use it more >.<”
While you are visiting these sites, you’ll also discover another wonderful talent that Serenity_Black shares with this fandom outside of writing😍 :
“I am an artist as well as a writer and I have done some fanart for the fandom before.”
Artworks are one of the greatest gifts in the Good Omens fandom!! We are so happy that you share these with us as well!! And among Serenity_Black’s written treasures in the GO realm, one stands out as her absolute favorite:
“'Of Gardens and the Second Coming' is the 78k Season 3 speculation fic I made. It was the first thing I wrote in the GO fandom. Not the first I finished, but the first one I started on. I'm very proud of it. I tried to keep it as canon as possible and make it a realistic possibility that we would get from Amazon.”
That’s pretty amazing!! 😮 And of course, finding the right storylines and themes can present obstacles for all of our writers - as one of our readers wanted to learn from Serenity_Black:
✨✨What have you found that has been the biggest challenge for you about writing GO fic?
“Staying true to the tone of the books. Sometimes I just throw that out the window and write, other times I try to keep that comedy and tone like I did with 'Of Gardens'. But when I want to keep the tone it can be difficult for me because of the subjects I'm used to writing.”
Well you do an incredible job 👏👏👏 And as we approach the final episode of the series, curious minds want to know what else is brewing in Serenity_Black’s mind:
✨✨What's the project you are most excited to be working on at the moment?
“I want to get back to a fic idea I had of a darker ending to Season 3 where Crowley and Aziraphale end up in Hell thinking the other betrayed them. Not much more than an outline is currently written…”
But Serenity_Black is honoring us by sharing what bits of this post S3 WIP that have been written so far (at least Aziraphale’s POV):
“Aziraphale sat at his Heavenly desk, surrounded by Holy Memos and instructions on the End of Days. He looked haggard, the stubble he’d been fighting had won and his beard was now full and overgrown. His normally short and wispy hair had grown out and started to spiral in on itself creating his own halo of curls. His head was currently resting defeatedly in his hands as he tried to calm himself down.
He had tried everything, everything he could think of over the last year to stop The Second Coming. He had to sit back and face the facts: whether he wanted it to or not, the end of the world was happening in less than a year.
The angel leaned back in his uncomfortable chair wishing, not for the first time, that it was the plush comfy one in his shop. He let out a frustrated sigh.
What am I even doing here? This was a mistake…Crowley was right, Heaven won't change and I’ve been a fool to think it could…
Crowley.
His mind stuck on the name as a pang of longing resonated through him. It had been a year since he’d seen him in person, heard his voice. He’d of course used the globe to peak in on him every once and a while. ‘To make sure he wasn’t causing any trouble’ he’d told himself. He didn't seem to be faring much better than himself. A fact that gave him no satisfaction as he was sure it was his continued absence that had the demon in a constant sour mood.
The other angels had made the time crawl slowly by. They insulted him at every turn, Supreme Archangel or not, and were resistant to even the smallest suggestions. Aziraphale found himself in a petty mood, one that he couldn’t even find it in himself to be ashamed of. He’d had enough of them and their snide remarks behind his back and to his face. He knew they didn’t respect him, they didn’t even like him and at this point the feeling was far past mutual.
His preoccupation was interrupted as Michael slammed a stack of texts onto his desk, knocking some important scrolls to the floor where they rolled away into the ethereally bright halls. Far from startled, Aziraphale opened his eyes slowly and cast a side-long look at the other angel from where he lounged. He’d had just about enough of this and it was about time they knew it.
”I can assure you that I have plenty to do already, Michael.” His voice was low and dangerous, his displeasure on full display with no pretenses took the other angel aback. He sat up slowly looking after the rouge scrolls and back to Michael. “I’m going to need those back. Now.”
Michael blinked, uncertainty and surprise written all over their ageless countenance as they slowly raised their arm and snapped. The scrolls, now miracled back, sat next to the new texts now taking up much needed space on the small desk.
“Thank you,” Aziraphale said cooly, no gratitude behind the words. Michael looked like they wanted to say something and Aziraphale’s eyes narrowed. “What now Michael? Did you forget to insult me to my face today? Because, frankly, after the year I’ve had I can tell you I am rather done with the abuse from the rest of you.”
The other angel's mouth was open, jaw nearly on the floor at being spoken to this way. Yes, Aziraphale had been known to say the off-hand petty thing, but he hadn’t yet been outright rude to them like this before. It seemed to them that the Supreme Archangel had finally snapped.
”It’s just that the Metatron wants these looked through for anything that can accelerate the timeline.” Michael replied flatly, trying not to show that Aziraphale’s tone had gotten under their skin.
Aziraphale, having just made a decision, stood up and straightened his pale waistcoat, brushing off some imaginary dust and turning away from the other. “Then you do it Michael, I’m going out.”
”Going out? Where? There’s work to be done!” Michael seethed, whatever this new attitude was they weren’t having it.
”Where I go is none of your concern,” Aziraphale retorted vehemently. “As for the work….” He turned back to the other angel momentarily, “I am delegating the task to you in my absence. I trust that won't be an issue.”
He didn’t wait around for a reply, he simply walked away from his desk in the direction of the elevator to SoHo leaving a seething Michael in his wake. "
NOTE: The next bit will be Crowley's POV <3)
OOOH that’s wonderful!! We will all look forward to more of this - including Crowley’s side - when you find the time!!
“Most of my ideas have been put aside for right now as I am focusing on getting things set up to move at the end of the year.”
We do wish you all the best on your future moves and hope that everything goes smoothly for you!!! 🤗 🤗
Before we wrap up our time with Serenity_Black, she offers these words of wisdom for anyone who is writing, or thinking of writing their own stories:
“Step away if you need to. Sometimes you have to let your mind and ideas rest. That way you can come back with a fresh perspective and a rested mind.”
Great points!! Clearing your mind is good for all aspects of life - not just writing. And here’s one more tip from Serenity_Black to help you get those creative juices flowing when you do set off on the writing journey:
“Let your mind wander to weird places and then write it down! You don't have to share it with anyone, but exercise your imagination! Give someone a hair and ears! Or make them a sea creature! Imagine what their life would be like if they lived nearby a volcano! Go crazy with it! Just explore and write. That's the important bit.”
Thank you so much, Serenity_Black, for exploring and writing for all of us. It was truly our pleasure to learn more about you and share your story with this fandom ☺️❤️

As a preteen I used to write prolifically on HPRPG.net as Serenity Smith and wrote a bit on FF.net as 11thDoctorsLady. I now write for the Good Omens and the Hannibal fandoms focusing on Aziracrow and Hannigram. I got into the Good Omens fandom right as Season 2 dropped. I had avoided Season 1 when it came out because I was SuperWhoLocked and didn't have mental space for another obsession at the time xD The GO fandom has been so very welcoming and is full of amazing people. I have never been apart of a warmer group of individuals! I owe so much to the Ineffable Kinnies discord server because they encouraged me and kept me going as I wrote the longest fic of my life 'Of Gardens and the Second Coming' clocking in at 78,745 words! LavenderMoonlitSkies/Grace (she/her) is one of the newer writers to the Good Omens world, courtesy of two very popular ineffables. A chance discovery fully inspired her to begin weaving her own tales, spurred even more by the support and encouragement from this wonderful fandom. Keep reading as Grace guides us through her creative journey.
Let’s learn a little bit more about Grace - where’s she’s from and what she enjoys (of course, when she’s not dreaming about a certain duo😌🥹):
“I live in the States! When I’m not writing, I’m a musician and a big fan of live music wherever I can find it. I’m also a morris dancer and if anyone knows what that is I would love to gab with you about it lol”
Sounds intriguing! Readers 👏 give Grace a shout if you want to talk!! 🤩
Like many other fans of Good Omens, it was a little curiosity that led Grace to finding this incredible series 🧐🤔:
“I stumbled across it randomly on Amazon Prime a couple months before the season 2 premiere, not terribly interesting but it did alter my brain chemistry~”
This series certainly does have that impact!! 😍 And once the magic that is the Ineffable Duo is unleashed, writing just seems to come naturally in this fandom, as Grace discovered:
“The season 2 finale basically sent me into a frenzy. I think I’ve always kind of thought about writing stories but it never occurred to me to actually *do it* until I was introduced to such captivating characters in a fictional universe with endless possibilities”
We are so happy that it did inspire you!! 😊 Of course, each writer has their own style and preferred themes. Grace’s preferences are particularly relevant to our fandom given the eternal nature of the ineffable world:
“I need a happy ending for sure, but I also love historical settings of pretty much any kind (Ancient Rome, Victorian era, Medieval, I’ll take anything lol)”
Happy endings are the absolute best for these two!! While Grace has a handful of smaller works already published, she does have one story that has been in progress for a while, and she graciously gives us a glimpse of what is coming up next:
“I have a myriad of abandoned one-shots that may or may not ever see the light of day, but my longfic is still going strong! It won’t be completed in time for the canon finale, but I’m hoping to finish it up over the summer."
Here’s a sneak peek from Chapter 7 of The Road Less Traveled (rated M):
“Somewhere in the vastness of an ever expanding universe, on a little blue planet where a comparatively tiny city placed somewhere along its surface was just starting to wake up, an angel slept. He slept for the first time in his entire life, cozily curled up in woolen blankets and beside a lover that had been watching him sleep peacefully for the last hour or so since he awoke himself.
Crowley studied him thoroughly; the way his chest would slowly rise and fall with every delicate breath he took. He showed no signs of distress, perhaps there was even a slight smile grazing the corners of his mouth. It was a relief, really. Crowley didn't know if angels dreamt, but he'd wondered if, after everything that night, Aziraphale might fall deep into the pits of an awful nightmare as soon as he was unconscious enough.
The rising sun cast a heavenly glow over him. His hand was resting between them, perfectly manicured and limp against the bed sheet. Crowley remembered what it felt like to touch them, to finally feel them against his chest as Aziraphale held him close the night before and embraced the love they'd both been denying themselves for centuries.“
🥹😍🥹😍Oh so wonderful!!!! If you want to follow this work be sure to subscribe for the latest updates on AO3
Of all of the stories that Grace has created (as well as those being considered), she considers one of her earliest pieces to be a particular favorite🤗:
“In terms of completed works, I would say Find Me In Your Dreams, My Dear. It’s part 1 of a series I did almost 2 years ago. I think if I wrote that series now, it would be completely different and more well-rounded, maybe longer too, but concept-wise I had a lot of fun with it!”
And at this point, if there was still ANY doubt who Grace’s favorite pairing might be…😇😈
“Aziracrow ofc, though I do love a little Nina/Maggie on the side 😌💅”
Nina and Maggie are always awesome too!!
Outside of writing, are there any other talents that Grace has shared (or is willing to share) with this wonderful fandom? 🎁
“Nope. Been thinking about getting back into art but I’m so bad with technology it’s gonna have to be on paper (i.e. I cannot ~digital art~)”
Art is a fantastic contribution to consider 🎨 any form will be greatly appreciated And while Grace is thoroughly smitten with Good Omens, she does have some appreciation and affection for a few other realms:
“I haven’t ventured much into the fics for other fandoms but I love a lot of shows like What We Do In The Shadows (we don’t need to talk about that finale), Our Flag Means Death, Hazbin Hotel, Supernatural, etc!”
Now some of you may have been interested in Grace’s online handle 🪻🌛 as one of our readers asked this very question:
✨✨Your handle name is lovely! Can you tell us more about it or how you decided on it?
“Thank you! I’m gonna be so real with you though I created it with the help of one of those random username generators (not AI… would not touch that with a 10 ft pole). I was kinda just thinking I love the night sky and outer space in general, and that purple is the superior color ofc
I suppose if I were to really think about it, I would say that the moon symbolizes lots of intriguing ideas like change, femininity and the unconscious mind, and lavenders are kind of a cornerstone symbol for queer women in culture and I am a queer woman”
Oh that is such a beautiful story, and such a wonderful way to build and define your persona!! 🤩
As we wrap up our time with Grace, she shares with us a few words of encouragement to inspire those who may also wish to create but feel a slight trepidation to dip their toes into the artistic waters:
“Just do it man. Don’t listen to that little judgy voice in the back of your head, your work may not be up to your standards at first but that’s only because you have to keep at it to get better. Hone your craft ✌️”
Grace, thank you so much for your time and talents!! 💖It was a great pleasure getting to know more about your journey!!
“Thank you for featuring me ☺️❤️”

“Hi! I go by the username LavenderMoonlitSkies, but my name is Grace irl! I’m 25 and from the States (despite how much I long to be somewhere else rn :)) ) I’ve been writing since July of 2023 - pretty much immediately following the premiere of Good Omens season 2 😅
My favorite part of the Good Omens fandom is that not only are there some really fantastic writers and artists here, but you’re all so supportive and kind! Not to get all sappy but writing for this fandom is honestly like the first thing I feel good at and confident in and I can’t thank you guys enough for all the encouragement.”
This really is a fantastically supportive fandom, and we are so happy to have you here with us! 😍😍
Here’s some recommendations from the author to give you a glimpse into their works - be sure to check them out!!
“I have a one-shot that takes place in 1941 after the S2 minisode titled “It’s A Big, Lonely Universe Out There”, so that’s a pretty easy read, but I also have this WIP longfic titled “The Road Less Traveled” that’s sort of a s3 fix-it but it’s also an AU and a Greek Mythology crossover. It’s been going for nearly 2 years and it does mean a lot to me when people decide to check it out because I know that some prefer to wait until a fic is finished to read the whole thing (which is fine! It’s just nice to receive some positive feedback as the writer is writing).”

LoneFish (she/her) is relatively a newcomer to the ineffable world, but she is not new to composing wonderful stories. Her talent for telling tales is rooted in her love of languages. LoneFish’s specialty is character introspection, and her discovery of a certain angel and demon only fascinated her more to dive in and understand their true natures. Keep reading as we navigate into LoneFish’s world and discover more about what inspires her written works.
Let’s learn a little more about what LoneFish does in her free time when not immersed in the Good Omens world 😄
“I live in the UK but I'm originally from France. I used to be a translator, but AI took over my job so now I teach languages and music in a challenging secondary school. Music is a great passion of mine. I am a semi-professional singer and play multiple instruments, and I love crafts (knitting, crochet, sewing, calligraphy, etc.).
I have two neuro-spicy and gender-spicy children who keep me busy and a very patient husband who sent me to London to watch MS in Our Town and suggested I should try to snog him (I didn't quite manage that!)”
Oh you would be the envy of the fandom if you’d managed that!! 😘
LoneFish only recently discovered Good Omens, but as we’ve seen many times - it doesn’t take much to reel in new fans:
“I'd heard about it on the grapevine but didn't really know what it was about other than an angel and a demon. One evening in October 2024, the family was bored, so we watched the first episode and pretty much binged the rest over a week or so.”
LoneFish may be a more recent addition to this fandom, but she’s no novice when it comes to writing stories 😊 Here’s more about what drives her inspiration to create:
“I love digging into a character's psyche. Their feelings, the way their interactions shape who they are, etc. I've been writing on and off for about 20 years in a few different fandoms. My work as a translator gave me a love for wordsmithing and I really enjoy playing with my knowledge of different languages. Sometimes a French expression will pop up in English, just amended to sound natural. I love the way different cultures express feelings and emotions differently.”
And those cultural differences also lend themselves to LoneFish’s favorite - albeit slightly pensive - writing themes 🥹
“Unrequited feelings, longing, lack of self-esteem, grief. All the fun stuff!!!”
Oh yeah - really fun 😅🙃 But there’s an audience for any and all of these topics - and we appreciate all of LoneFish’s contributions to the fanfic world 😌 Let’s find out more about her works starting with a question from one of our followers:
✨✨You say you're into darker, more introspective fics. What have you got cooking in the back, besides what you've told us about?
“Well, I'd like to complete Of Fire and Light and Anagnorisis. They will both end up on a positive note, but the former in particular is quite dark in places. It speaks of loneliness and grief and Crowley's feeling that he's been played (by God) and that Aziraphale was too naive (although I don't think that's the case, I just think Crowley doesn't give him enough credit at times).”
Those sound so compelling! And since both of these stories are still in progress, which one does LoneFish give priority to completing? (No pressure whatsoever 😉)
“At the moment, my focus would be on Anagnorisis (because it's not too far off being completed) and Of Fire and Light (which is a LONG way from being completed but a really compelling story I feel). My plan was to complete it before S3, but that's not going to happen, so in future I'll consider my version canon!”
YES!! The finale will soon be here! Time is certainly flying, and getting words on paper sometimes can eat up lot of that time 😩 as LoneFish discusses her efforts to get these works out into the world:
“I tend to post when I think I know where a fic is going, even if I haven't completed it yet. And then it takes me ages to complete them. I'm a perfectionist, and I'm also someone who can't write short fics. So everything takes time, unfortunately, and I don't have as much of it as I used to.”
Such truth!! But LoneFish’s stories are so worth the wait! Now that we know a little more about LoneFish’s works and writing style, what does she deem to be the favorite fic of her own? 🤩
“That's a really difficult question. I absolutely love Prelude to a Fall because it is meant to be soul-destroying, and it was a harrowing write. I think Anagnorisis (still in progress) is one of my best. It's a real slow-burn with a lot of my headcanon. Of Fire and Light is mapped out but ultra-complex (plot-wise) and if I can manage to pull it off, it will probably become my favourite.”
And while every writer has their favorites, there are also some tales that will never be told, as one reader inquired about:
✨✨Are there any stories that you have ideas for but will never write?
“Yes, I had one fic idea which was extremely dark. It involved a fair amount of sexual abuse and torture and a dark Crowley that could manage to rationalise just about anything.
This is just the wrong fandom to write something like that, so this one will stay in my brain...”
Now after all of these questions - the answer to our next one should be obvious, but LoneFish does blend in other character references than just her favorite pairing from the Good Omens world😇😈
“Aziraphale and Crowley of course. My fics are usually centred on them, but I like giving them meaningful interactions with Newt/Anathema (and their daughter Serafina) and Nina/Maggie. I have an interesting HC about Crowley and Newt's interactions which I explore further in Fire and Light, and that's been quite fun to map out (it's not all written yet, unfortunately). I have recurring OCs, including Serafina and Edna, Crowley's upstairs neighbour.”
LoneFish has opened up on all of her writing talents - but is there anything else she shares with the Good Omens fandom? 🧐
“Music would be my main one. A while back, I posted a quickly recorded minor key version of "Every day, it's getting closer..." as a joke.
I am hopeless at art and vids. Which is a shame, because I'd love to illustrate my stories, but hey, can't be good at everything.”
We appreciate ALL of the talents that LoneFish shares!!! And writing is always a most generous gift 💝 Since she mentioned writing off and on in other fandoms, which ones does LoneFish find fascinating outside of Good Omens?
“I am currently writing a number of stories in the Merlin (BBC) fandom. Given the series ended 13 years ago (at 8pm on Christmas Eve 2012 and a heartache so huge I'm triggered EVERY 24th December), its fandom is incredibly active. I have been working on a fic for this fandom for about a year and am hoping to complete it by the summer. I also published a dark short fic happening on a 24th December. I have two more stories in the works there as well.
Otherwise, I have a longstanding Harry Potter story (and a pre-planned sequel) which I also need to finish. I know it's a recurring theme, but I just need more time!”
Absolutely agree - there’s never enough time - but we SOO appreciate the gift LoneFish shares with us when possible. Speaking of which, anyone curious about that online handle origin??
“LoneFish? I honestly can't quite remember, but I think it stemmed from a joke about there being plenty of fish in the sea. It's also a reflection of who I am as a person: quite insecure and feeling lonely even when surrounded by loved ones.”
LoneFish, you are never alone in this fandom 🤗🫶 and hope we have gained you even more followers with this feature!!
As we begin to wrap up this week’s Spotlight, LoneFish shares with us some fantastic tips into her writing process 📝💻
“One thing I'd recommend is to structure your writing. I use a (rather cheap) software called Bibisco which enables me to save notes, to build character profiles, to play with chapters and scenes and organise my ideas. I have story arcs, character arcs, themes, recurring patterns, and I do my best to interweave them until they feel cohesive. For some fics I literally have pages of notes with cryptic titles. Sometimes it's easy to lose the plot of your own story, so being able to add to the general concept until you know what you're doing is useful.”
And to all of those new or potential writers out there thinking of writing their own Good Omens (or any fandom) tales💗
“Go for it! Although I love to see others enjoy my stories, I write for my own pleasure and enjoying re-reading your words and discovering your story again as a reader is a great feeling (you know you won't be disappointed!).”
LoneFish, we are so grateful to you for joining us in this week’s feature! It’s been a pleasure reading and learning about your journey 😍
“I've really enjoyed sharing my experience and my work. Thank you to the people who liked some of my stories and asked when I'd publish the rest of Anagnorisis (I'll try to hurry, I promise). I didn't really expect people to enjoy reading my stories, so thank you all. You have no idea what each kudos or comment means to me!”
And if you want to follow along and discover more of LoneFish’s works, you can find her at one of our favorite places to visit:
“I only publish on AO3. If people have other suggestions, let me know. I'm always happy to look into new territories.”
And the ineffable fandom is always willing to help!! 🥰

“Hi, I’m LoneFish. I go by other names on Facebook and Bluesky, but I keep my fandom life a little discreet since my day job isn’t particularly enthusiastic about smut writers. I’m a native French speaker who has been living in the UK for over twenty years. I’m also the parent of two wonderfully neurospicy children, one of whom is active on AO3 and has been firmly instructed to stay well away from my stories. Outside of work and writing, I’m a keen musician with fairly eclectic tastes.
I’ve been writing fanfiction for about twenty years now, and these days I mostly write for Good Omens and one other fandom. Short fics aren’t really my thing. My stories tend to be dark, introspective, and quite psychological. I enjoy digging deep into characters’ minds, exploring what they’re thinking, how they change, and how they cope with adversity. With Aziraphale and Crowley, that’s particularly fascinating.
In many ways, I’m a bit of a real-life Aziraphale, so it won't surprise anyone that my fics tend to feature tea, Jane Austen references, plenty of music, and a growing pile of headcanons.
What draws me most to Aziraphale and Crowley is that they’re both deeply flawed and struggle with low self-esteem. Anyone can see they’re in love except them. I find that mix of devotion, misunderstanding, and vulnerability very compelling.
The Good Omens fandom itself is also a wonderful place to be. It’s incredibly diverse, creative, and supportive, and it’s refreshing to be part of a community that’s so open-minded and welcoming.”
This fandom is truly extraordinary, and we look forward to learning more about your adventures within it! 😍😍
Here’s some recommendations from the author to give you more insight to her works:
“I’d start with The Price We Pay For Love and its Aziraphale counterpart, Paved with Good Intentions. They explore what Crowley and Aziraphale might be feeling after their separation at the end of Season 2, and what happens when their entire universe suddenly falls apart. Each story follows one of them as they try to cope with the aftermath.
Another story that’s very dear to me is Prelude to a Fall. It’s extremely sad and has no happy ending at all, but it’s probably my favourite thing I’ve written in the fandom.
I’ve also written a few lighter fics along the way, including Champagne, Oysters, and Other Ineffable Things and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Apparently I’m not terrible at those either, but my natural habitat is definitely the darker, more introspective corners of the characters’ minds.”

WaitingToBeBroken/Chris (they/them) fell in love with our ineffables right from the start, finding them first in the novel and inspired to write about their love as soon as Season 1 ended. From the canon universe to human AUs, Chris creates a little something for everyone to enjoy. Keep reading to discover more about their writing process and how they easily became one of Aziraphale and Crowley’s biggest fans.
Let’s learn more about what Chris does to occupy their time while not writing wonderful stories about our favorite angel and demon 😄:
“Hi, everyone! Seeing as I was raised during the “stranger-danger” period of the internet, I have never really shared a lot about my personal life on here... So, keeping it a bit vague but, ages ago, I moved to the UK. I have a job that makes me say things like, “I am conscious of the timeline of this” about a thousand times a day 😅 I love gaming, I have been obsessed with a particular MMORPG for a few years now. My character’s name is Nith, she is a necro, and at any given time, I am desperately hoping people will ask to see pictures of her, haha! When I’m not at home, I’m usually at the nearby park, feeding the local wildlife and daydreaming of a life without any spreadsheets!”
Time outdoors and away from a screen is always a wonderful thing!! 😌 And it’s also a great time to spend reading about other places and ideas - which is exactly how Chris came to discover the world of Good Omens:
“I first started making my way through the Discworld novels when I was 13-ish? I was, and still am, obsessed with Pratchett’s writing style. I love that you can never guess what his next sentence will be. His stories are funny and bizarre, and they also make you think, which was enough to make teenage-me devour everything he has ever written. Admittedly, at first I was a lot more taken with “The Carpet People” and “Nation” from his stand-alones, but the moment I met Aziraphale and Crowley, I just knew I would love them forever! And I did, haha!”
And just like that, our ineffable duo planted the seed that would ultimately provide all the inspiration for Chris to begin writing their own stories 🥰:
“I really like the type of fics that take canon and try to fill in the gaps. Especially when it comes to Good Omens, which offers us just brief glimpses into A&C’s millennia-old friendship. My first story was exactly that, taking what we were given in the show and trying to expand upon it. Even with my AUs, I try to take the characters and see how they would act if placed in a different setting. What would change and what would remain the same in the way they interact with each other and the world. I think it makes for a very fun writing exercise. And there are a few stories I have written just because I liked the world I had come up with way too much not to put A&C in it!”
It’s amazing how Chris blends them into practically any environment!! 😄 And just in case you haven’t figured it out by now…well, let’s share this question from a follower:
✨✨Seeing as you've written so many GO fics since S1, would you say Aziraphale and Crowley are your OTP of all time?
“Absolutely! They are everything to me! They are an old married couple that has also never kissed before and is too shy to brush their fingers together. They bicker and they tease each other, and they love each other sooo much! I also really love the “the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one” trope, which fits them perfectly! AND the fact that Aziraphale is actually the scarier one of them both! It’s like they were designed in a lab to appeal to me, specifically, haha!”
Aziraphale and Crowley are truly perfect for each other - what’s not to love?? But Chris isn’t averse to writing about other pairings - and they might be just a little clairvoyant🧐:
“A&C will always be my favourite! Apart from them, I heavily subscribe to the idea that all angels and demons were created in pairs and destined to be together. I’m very proud to say that I was furthering the Gabriel and Bee agenda long before season 2, and I even sneaked some references to them being together in one of my earlier fics 🤭. I also love when people pair Eric and Muriel together. Yes, I know they have never interacted! But I think they would be so adorable together, and they are both so inquisitive, you just know they would love asking each other questions and researching things together!!!”
Love this “created in pairs” idea so much!! On the topic of cute pairings, one of Chris’s well-known writings is a lovely meet-cute series. Let’s dig into some of our reader’s questions around these stories:
✨✨I love your Ineffable Meet Cute series. Which of them is your favourite/feels special to you?
“Thank you! Ohhhh, but this is like asking if I have a favourite squirrel I feed in the park, haha! I think maybe “Late Night Visitors”, in which a very drunk Crowley instantly falls in love with an angel and tries to seduce him. The first problem? The angel is already married. The second problem? The angel is already married TO CROWLEY! I just have such a soft spot for those types of stories, ridiculous but soft, a dash of misunderstandings, and plenty of awkward flirting that Aziraphale pays no mind to, because his husband, who he married decades ago, does genuinely still flirt with him like this!”
✨✨Are there any more planned? And, would you ever consider expanding on any of them? Or writing something with those vibes as a multi chapter story?
“I don’t have any plans to expand on any of them, I’m afraid. I do like that the stories are just a little peek into their lives, without offering much in terms of their future. Because it’s them, of course, they will be happy for a very long time!
Regarding any new stories, I have a folder on my phone with saved memes, which I think will fit them so well! The next one will probably be a fic where Crowley almost runs Aziraphale over with his car and tries to take him out to dinner. You know, to apologise. Not because he was smitten at first sight or anything!”
Here’s a sneak peek for Chris’s idea on the next meet-cute:
Story inspiration can strike from anywhere, as Chris clarifies with this answer for one of our readers:
✨✨What motivates you the most to keep writing? (I love your meet-cutes SO MUCH)
“Thank you so much!!! I think, especially with the meet-cute series, it’s everything? For instance, there is a vet I pass on my way to the shops twice a week, and I always try to take a peek inside for cute animals. One day, I just started thinking what if Aziraphale were a vet and Crowley had a snake that he was fussing over (because we all know the snake would never be actually sick, he is way too anxious to let it get that far haha). And that’s how “Doctor, Can You Take Care Of My Snake?” was born! Or, once, I had to sort out some paperwork, and there was a woman I had to submit all my forms to. She looked like she would bite my head off, and I had a million questions about the process, so I was already prepared for her not liking me. But the moment she saw how anxious I was, she became the most helpful and kind person I have ever met in such a setting! And all I could think was, Crowley, Crowley, Crowley, and I went home and immediately started writing “You Don't Need A Licence For That”😂😂 And I think we all know the story behind “On the Tops of Buses””
There are SOO many different themes that can be used to weave a tale, but each writer will occasionally bring a preferred motif into their works, as one of our readers wanted to learn from Chris:
✨✨What is your favorite type of story to write (genre, trope, character, literally anything that brings you joy and feels like it encapsulates a "type")?
“Ohhh, that’s a very good question! I love writing silly stories, anything that has an almost crack-like plot line, but is still coherent enough not to veer into the absurd. I also adore a good misunderstanding and seeing how far I can push it without it getting ridiculous! I know that if I have made myself giggle, I have done my job, haha!”
Laughter is the best medicine, they say😂 And is a most suitable trope for these two lovelies!! While Chris has written many different things, there can always be more, as one reader hopes to discover:
✨✨What trope haven't you written yet for A&C but would be curious to try out?
“I have never written enemies to lovers! It seems ridiculous that I have written so many different tropes for them but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I try to make them into enemies, they meet and they are instantly smitten. Shows how little control I have over them, haha! But I do love that trope and I have read some really adorable stories, where it makes sense for them to be enemies! I just always cave and let them fall in love at first sight, like the weakling that I am 😔”
What we are given in the ineffable canon world is limited, but with fanfiction - and head canon - the possibilities are endless. And some ideas can be non-negotiable, as one reader asks our spotlight author:
✨✨What's a niche good omens head canon you would defend with your life?
“I spent wayyyy too long wondering about this one, just because I’m not sure what we count as a niche head canon? So I will offer two, hopefully one of them fits, haha! So, first, a NSFW one – Crowley absolutely does not cry during sex. He may cry before and he 100% cries after, but during, he has work to do and an angel to please! He has no time for crying! The second one, which I would actually defend with my life, is that they have always been in love, and more than that, they have always KNOWN that the love is mutual. I know I have written/read so many stories where they don’t know, and the misunderstandings are delicious, but I fully believe they do know. The love was never the problem, it was always Heaven and Hell that stopped them from loving each other fully. And, in a way, that makes it worse? Because they know that if they were free, they could have everything they have been dreaming of, for millennia… But they also know that will never happen.”
No arguments about them being in love from DAY ONE!!! It’s so obvious, right?!? Just like actors bring a certain “something” to each role they play, writers do the same thing with our beloved characters:
✨✨What's your favourite thing to write when you're writing Crowley and Aziraphale respectively? That one character trait for each that you just can't forget to include in your writing?
“Ohhhh, I love this question! I think one thing that I would always mention about them as a couple, is that they are obsessed with each other! From the first moment they meet! But if we are talking individually… I really like having Crowley be a little chaotic and disorganised. Very much an “act now, think things through later” type of person. Especially when I write from his POV, I always try to keep his thought process just a tad random. Aziraphale, on the other hand, is the complete opposite, for me. He likes things labelled properly, each tucked in its respective box. If something doesn’t fit, he will just ignore it. So, for his thought process, I always lean heavily into denial, but the funny kind. A bit like, “Me, trying to flirt with this gorgeous man instead of doing my job? Of course not. Perish the thought!”. It also makes for a funny contrast when writing a fic with alternating POVs!”
Every reader has at least one story that they continually go back to. And it’s fair to say that each writer has a cherished work of their own that brings a smile (or a tear🥲), as Chris shares with us:
“While I love writing humour, I will always choose angst in my capacity as a reader! So I have to say, my most favourite work is “Haunted By Something Still Alive”, in which A&C have to raise the reincarnation of Jesus, while still trying to deal with the Ineffable Divorce feelings, looming over them. I always get so emotional when I remember this story. While it’s from Aziraphale’s POV, you can still see the way Crowley is trying to keep his distance, not because he is trying to punish Aziraphale, but because he’s trying to keep his own heart from breaking (again). And Aziraphale respects his wishes, even though it kills him. Also, Mary, the reincarnation of Jesus, is possibly my most favourite OC. I don’t think I have ever read this one without crying!”
So we’ve learned a lot about what Chris has already written and their inspiration for writing. Is there anything else in the works that we should be looking for in the future?
“Officially, I only have one WIP at the moment, and that is the South Downs one, in which Crowley gets a bit serpentine when he gets too excited. And if you are thinking, waiiiiit a minute, have I heard of this one before? Yes, I wrote the first chapter in March 2024 so 😅 I have mentioned it previously!
I also have a little time loop fic, set during the final 15, which I have been ignoring a little, since it requires me to actually WATCH the final 15 again!😂”
Yeah - totally understandable! So happy that we are getting the finale to hopefully give us the happy ending these two completely deserve!! Anything else being planned?
“I also have a vague outline for a sequel to my Reverse Omens AU (Burn the Memory of Who I Was Before), from Raphael’s POV and set after the Apocalypse-that-wasn’t. They are both very oblivious and also very desperate for each other, haha! Here is the WORKING summary,
"I would say yes. If you asked," Raphael had said once, soft. Drunk on ancient wine and Azirafell's warmth.
"I know," Azirafell had replied. Shame in his voice, in his eyes. So much hope too, almost drowning them both. "I will. One day, I will ask."
The Apocalypse has failed. Raphael has his library to tend to, clandestine meetings turned dates to look forward to. His best friend and love of existence to tirelessly bother. He should be happy.
Azirafell has yet to ask.”
OOOOHHHH that’s definitely something to look forward to!! Be sure follow WaitingToBeBroken on their socials for their upcoming works…and maybe a random notion or two 😁😉
“Unfortunately, tumblr and AO3 are all that I have! I’m also on Discord and always happy to share snippets of my WIPs or vague ideas that made me wake up in cold sweat in the middle of the night, but never went anywhere 😅”
We know that Chris does an incredible job writing about our pair, but do they have any other talents that they share with the Good Omens fandom?
“I can only draw stick figures (with arrows pointing at them to clarify who is who) and I am terrible at anything other than writing… BUT, I do love reading fics and discussing them with people, or brainstorming and fleshing out ideas! And I write a very sweet comment, if I can say so myself 🤭”
We’re sure your comments are super sweet, Chris 🤗 Comments are always a most appreciated way to compliment a writer’s work, and each writer finds something special about each and every one of them:
✨✨What's your favourite type of comment to receive?
“Honestly, I adore all of them! The ones that share a specific scene or a line that touched the reader are always so precious to me. It makes me so happy that someone caught a little throw-away line, or liked something that I enjoyed writing! I also really love the comments where someone just shouts at me, especially on more angsty fics 😂 Just the idea that my writing has made someone FEEL something? It gets to me!”
So we know Good Omens is at the top of the list for Chris 😇😈 but are there any other fandoms which have drawn some of their attention?
“I have a few, but nothing has taken over my life the same way A&C have! I eagerly await the return of my toxic vampire fathers in the summer, and I was not strong enough to escape the pull of the hockey gays (even though I am proud to confirm we are still heavily anti-sports in this house)! Other than that, I recently finished the last Dungeon Crawler Carl book, so if you see art of a boxers-clad man with a cat on my blog, it’s from that book! And if you are a fan, please let me know, I have NOBODY I can discuss it with!!!”
Hopefully we can help you find a fellow fan! 🥳
Alas, it’s time to wrap up our spotlight this week. Chris shares some encouraging words for all the writers out there who are actively creating their own works, and even those who are pondering where to begin:
“I think the most valuable advice I can give is to just keep writing! Turn writing into a habit, but also while you are actively writing, do not stop to think or doubt yourself. Just write that scene and fix it later. I promise, you will like it a lot more in a week! Read a lot too, just to get out of your head for a bit. And find people who you can go to when you just need to talk through a plot point or discuss a character. Writing is supposed to be fun, and the moment it starts feeling like a job is the moment you have to take a step back and let yourself breathe for a second! You’ve got this ❤️❤️”
Wonderfully stated 🤗 Chris leaves us with one final thought for our spotlight post:
“I just wanted to say I'm so touched by all the lovely, thought-provoking questions! It really means so much to me that people are interested in my writing 🥺❤️! Thank you!”
Thank YOU so very much for allowing us to take a peek into your Good Omens world! It was an absolute pleasure hosting your story!! 😘
