“E-eeeehh…?!”
Her reaction to Leon was one of confusion mixed in with fear. Her prince..? Though it seemed he had come to save her, as he was fighting off the painting, wasn’t he—? Mikan watches wordlessly as Leon fights off the painting, even so much as holding her breath in anticipation, hoping that it wouldn’t lash back out and harm her savior. But of course, doubt would rise as well. Did this person have some ulterior motive for helping her..? Was he going to force her into a debt, and make her repay it by doing outrageous things?! Ahh, if so, she would have to run away right now, wouldn’t she? This wasn’t good! But at the same time, she couldn’t just leave without showing her appreciation.
Just as she let out a long-held breath as the fight seemed to end, she had been about to call out to the other before shock crossed her face, eyes widening and mouth opening speechlessly as she watched him tear down the painting and continue to beat at it, even though it seemed to be harmless now. Won’t he get in trouble for this? This was a gallery piece after all.. however harmful, wasn’t it better to leave it be and just get away from it?
“P-P-Please stop, th-that’s going too far, it’s alright now, s—” ..though her words are cut off by the sound of his scream. She was wary of going close to this stranger who seemed so violent, but at the same time she couldn’t just leave an injured person in pain, right? He did save her after all, this would be no way to repay someone for their.. well, kindness!
Quickly would the girl hurry over, calling out to him with words like ’please calm down!’ and ’hold on!’. Though whether or not Leon would actually comply to these words was up to him.
Reaching him, she helped him to his feet first, wanting to leave the room before actually doing anything else. It would do them no good to remain in this room while she helps him only to be trapped again, and once they manage their way outside and she closes the door behind them, she brings out her first aid kit from the little bag it had come in, though she doesn’t open it yet. With this, she gets herself right into business, a determination washing over her to help him at once. This was all she was good at, after all! She had to do it!
“U-um.. P-please listen to me, we need to fix your shoulder right away!” She says this with as much authority in her tone as she can muster, and with his cooperation, she lays him down on the floor and onto his stomach — hey, at least there was a carpet here — and just as if it came naturally, the SHSL nurse very carefully, very gently moved his arm, though not before telling him a few words to warn him. “Th-this may hurt a lot, but please bear with it…”
With one hand above his elbow and the other on his wrist, she asks him to focus himself on relaxing his muscles, trying to comfort him if he tenses up. Gently, she pulls his arm downwards, easing and lightly stretching his muscles until his shoulder finally pops back into place. She could understand how much it would hurt, as it was something she herself had probably experienced back then. ‘Back then’ probably wasn’t all that long ago, either.
Waiting for Leon to relax once more, she helps him back onto his back afterwards, helping him rest up against a wall. She opens her first aid kit and digs through it, brings out a roll of woven bandages and expertly wraps it around his arm and shoulder, forming a sling. Making sure it’s secure before letting go, she returns the rest of the bandages back into the kit, closing it and returning it to the backpack.
Letting out a breath she hadn’t noticed she’d been holding, something seems to light up in her head and suddenly she lets out a small squeal in alarm, along with a bunch of apologies.
“I-I-I-I… I— I’m so sorry! I acted so demanding of a stranger—! I-I hope you’re not angry, please don’t be angry at meeeee….!!”
“Th-thank you for saving me, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.. aaaaah! I hope you’re alright! P-please take care from now on, and try not to strain yourself w-with that bat! R-refrain from lifting your arm above ninety degrees a-and exercise a little so that it can heal! I-it would be better if you didn’t swing the b..bat anymore for the time being, b-b-but if you really wish to do so, I will try not to stop you—! Aaaaah, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! I-If you hadn’t come to save me, th-this wouldn’t have happened to you! I-I’m the worst! I’m so, so, terribly s..sorry…!!!”
Being an athlete meant that you should be no stranger to injuries. But Leon was perfect, Super High School Level perfect. Never in his career had he sustained an injury, let alone a total dislocation of his shoulder. Sure he'd been sore from time to time sliding between bases and jumping to catch hits, but this was an entirely foreign pain to him. It blinded his senses to everything around him, and before he knew it he found himself outside of the room where it all began.
In between his groans of pain, Leon barely made out the instructions the girl before him was issuing. She seemed frantic, disorganized and, quite frankly, uncertain - but she spoke in such detail with concise instructions that Leon figured it'd be best to follow her instructions.
After all, the alternative was to try to pop it back in by himself - and Leon knew jack shit about doing that...
"This may hurt a lot" My ass. Leon let out a deafening cry in pain as the girl gradually popped his arm back into place. However, once the deed was done, the pain reduced drastically - shocking Leon. What had been agonizing one moment had improved significantly the next.
"Damn girl... you're pretty good at that. You some sorta doctor or something?"
As she continued to wrap Leon up and strap his shoulder, Leon listened to her instructions closely. The girl apologized over and over with a terrified look in her eye, but Leon didn't mind. After all, if he ever got hurt he had someone to turn to. And a cutie, too:
"Hey, no need to be sorry. I'd happily let myself get hurt to save cute girls like you any day!"
There was one big concern Leon had, however...
"But man, if I'm not supposed to swing my bat around who's gonna protect us? Don't tell me you plan to, you look so nervous you'd drop the thing at the first sight of trouble..."
