âMarina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again. at her 2010 MoMa retrospective Marina performed âThe Artist Is Presentâ as part of the show, a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing it and this is what happened.â
âI didnât want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And thatâs really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare youâre so relieved. I woke up into a nightmare.â

âA dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.â Oscar Wilde
âWhen you start to know someone, all their physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in their energy, recognize the scent of their skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. Thatâs why you canât fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your eyes and your body but not your heart. And thatâs why, when you really connect with a personâs inner self, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant.â
